That means they thought they could get away with STEP 1 below, and having failed to get away with it is classified as an EXTERNAL FAILURE for which heads must roll
Oga nobody has such high expectations from JAMB. You can't be using your experience in a proper company in the private sector to compare with JAMB. If you fvck up, you lose your job. In Nigeria if you fvck up, and are kind enough to admit to your errors, praises would be heaped on you.

Standards are generally relaxed in the civil sector globally, not to mention in a Nigerian parastatal like JAMB...that they fvck up is normal and expected. All they had to do was be honest on what happened, ask the kids affected to resit, and it'd be just another Sunday.

That they saw the situation with the kids result, knew we expected little of them and were fine with them fvcking up yet went ahead to cover up the situation is criminally negligent, and borders on malice.

Quit comparing Apples and Oranges, despite the extent of their failure and malice now made public, if heads don't roll nothing would happen, this is who we are.

What I'm reading now is that anybody who sat for this year's JAMB are advised to go check their portal and check if they have been scheduled to resit so they can reprint their exam slip. Some people who scored above 200 too are being rescheduled for resit o.

I saw someone saying she scored 264 and another person scored 256; they were both reschedule to resit tomorrow.

If these ones come re-write and score lower nko? 🤷‍♂️

You know as e be na

Just Anambra result not being in line with trend should have already raised red flags

But I think the collation is done at the end. Data is very easy to aggregate once all the work is done. Don't be surprised if the timeframe between collation of insightable data and announcement of final results is few days to a week. After all election turnaround time is 24 hours within which all data sets by region etc are aggregated

Even at that you may have various levels of the food chain managing their communication levels eg IT manager not fronting up to Director until he has reviewed and trouble-shooted etc which causes delays along the whole chain. And even Oyedele himself may be too lazy to review the data for insights along the way in the process until the final data landed on his head like a sledgehammer.
The collation was done with the errors and they were already releasing data off what they chose to collate, that was why the minister of education defended the failure rate by saying it was measures to curb cheating that was working.

JAMB at no point moved like a body that was trying to remedy the situation in secret, they were ready to move on despite the effect of the glitch on results. It was people that called them out on social media and insisted on an external audit that made them do the right thing.

I think there may be another data issue Prof Oyedele is still hiding, which is the unusual number of high scores over 250 which may also be the result of the shuffling error

Just as the shuffling system shuffled most people down in scores, for a lucky percentage the shuffling may have worked in their favour which is why we have an abnormal distribution of high scores. Too many high scores, way too many low scores and not enough people in the average range
Did you see the percentage breakdown of scores?

When people complained about withheld results, and absurd scores, this was JAMBs position.

you know EXACTLY what i am sayuing because there is NO doubt you have not encountered a similar issue during business operations . where you have a flawed product for your client that you keep trying to fix because an outright shutdown and correction will be immensely disruptive

you think you hate jamb now?

jamb is reordering the jamb exams during waec exams. the person i called has her son doing biology practical today. fortunately he has no exam tomorrow. when will he prepare? now take that situation and multiply it. were people not complaining about how childrens lives were at risk getting to their centers on time? jamb has a very narrow window in which to cram exams for over 350,000 students.

JAMB is going to have to re engage multiple institutions to renegotiate agreements for use of their centers. some of them already have the sites booked for other engagements. it will be a complete logistics crapfest. also completely out of budget.

you know exactly what i am going on about. dont join mumu geng tongue
The window isn't as narrow as you're making it seem, with proper planning they can fix the exams withour any major disruption to the children and I'm sure the kids would take the inconvenience it'd give in their exam preparations over not getting the right score. There's usually a small Window between WAEC and NECO, they can even squeeze it there, or even float the exams for an entire month so kids waltz in when convenient and sit for their papers.

The main issue which you're failing to see, for whatever reason, is that the welfare of the children was always secondary, and what mattered most to them was projecting an image of competence (while being incompetent) and saving money.

The integrity of a students score is the PRIMARY thing with which the exam body gets judged, if they fail at that, even for 100 children, then it was a failure, not to mention that being an issue for over 400K children.

The logical crapfest is the nation missing out on doctors, engineers, economists, and other professionals that should have been in the system a year early or that JAMB cannot be trusted and that people in positions of authority are fine with children from particular states and regions of the country missing out on opportunities to access tertiary education. There are many things that'd have been a logical crapfest had JAMB failed to to acknowledge the glitch, and all of those things come before the money and inconvenience that comes with giving the kids fresh and convenient exam dates.

We need administrators that can engage in second and third order thinking when faced with situiations like this, and sadly, however much of a stickler the Oyedele guy is said to be, he just isn't that guy and the tears was him just acting drama. Him and the guys that were in the know before the third party intervention are guilty of criminal negligence.

So the re-take is still going to be conducted and supervised by the same set of Jamb personnel headed by Oloyede 😟😟..
The assumption is they'd get it right this time around...2 days to retake an Exam is just ridiculous. I'm sure they pushed for 2 days cause it'd mean people would move on from the matter faster, and it doesn't matter what a less than 48 hrs notice would mean for the students, wards, or performance in the exams.

Imagine comparing a personal Windows Update issue in your PC with a glitch that significantly imparted exam performance of almost 400K students that sat for the JAMB exam.

cheesy cheesy cheesy

A glitch that for the lucky ones means they get to resit the exams the next year, and for the unlucky ones, the trajectory of their lives forever altered cause it means they're forced to settle for courses and universities that should never have been in their path if there wasn't such a glitch. The things people say in defence of their faves and people they align with leaves me shocked atimes.

So how will JAMB identify those affected and those not affected?

I hope we won't have a case of some candidates later coming out to claim they were affected but JAMB didn't schedule the for resit?

I mean what about people in states like Ogun, Oyo, etc who failed and may want to claim they failed because of the same glitch for which the Lagos and the southeast states candidates were allowed to resit?
The entire thing is a big dent on the reputation of the exam, they've been having these issues, just wasn't at this scale.

The proper thing is an investigation gets done, and the report of the investigation made public, anything short of that would be a shame.

Other years they'd just keep it moving and the victims of their incompetence left with full consequences...good thing they were put under pressure and that JAMB has shown a willingness to make amends.

JAMB has been having issues with their CBT for several years now, remember a particular year when people got one result, only to go back a week or so later and they were seeing another result on the portal.

People that are very quick to parrot the all politicians are the same line (hence fvck them all) are in the same camp as Sowore, and potential recruits.

As much as one may come for BAT, it's clear enough that he's a better leader than Buhari, and had he taken over government from Jonathan, most likely things wouldn't have derailed as much as they did under Ahab.

Everyone, leader or citizen, serves a role, and even when they project political apathy, they're very much in the game (knowingly or not grin) and serving the interests of a particular interest group.

Engineering graduate

Started with KPMG tax, moved to Oil Industry as a field engineer, In the same company went to Head their HR, Now going back to Engineering

So STEM grad, went to Accounting, went to Engineering and went to HR, now back to Engineering. That is the option and flexibility we are talking about
Other than the fact that non-STEM courses are generally easier (BlueRayDick disagrees grin), they still haven't provided any significant advantage of studying most non-STEM courses over any STEM course.

People go to school to give themselves options, and this is why they go for certain courses and fields when deciding on what to study.

I can study Engineering, and get a job after graduation as an Engineer, then midway decide I want to become a HR professional, and with 300K I'd become one. That I have that option, I'm in a more advantageous position over someone that doesn't have such flexibility available.

Nope

To dive into HR all I did was do the CIPM certification.
Cost about 300k totally.
Broken into 6 stages

Once you have a first degree, you are automatically cleared of the first two stages Professional 1 & 2.

The only perk is, If you have a social Science or arts?? you go straight into Advanced 1 & 2, while other disciplines have to do Intermediate 1 & 2 before meeting you at advanced.
Assuming I was a HR graduate, is there a 300K certitifcation available for me to work as a microbiologist, or as an Engineer or Doctor?

I know what a microbiologist does and I know the sector their expertise is needed.

You are only clinging onto straws if u want to claim a microbiologist has more job prospect than HR who can work in all the companies a microbiologist can work and even more like banks, fintech, law firms, etc.
A food production facility can have three microbiologists, and three chemists doing their thing, can even stretch to up to 6 per if it's a facility producing round the clock, yet they'd be making do with just one HR professional serving entire company.

There are HR jobs, but it's not a job that their employees are getting emoloyed in bulk, and sometimes their role gets handled by other admin staff.

Na non STEM based companies work plenty pass in Nigeria . Not studying STEM doesn't put u at any disadvantage. Just be smart and u will get good job placement even in oil and gas company as a non STEM graduate.

EOD!
The non-STEM jobs that are plenty are in a few non-STEM disciplines, and the non-STEM grads of those disciplines don't have advantage over STEM grads for those roles so in essence it's immaterial.

The main point should be, outside of these jobs that's available for everybody, what are the course specific opportunities like in STEM, and non-STEM?
