Shikena: If you choose an area prone to violence in Nigeria or USA then you won't have peace of mind. USA is not your typical country, Texas alone is almost the size of Nigeria and most parts are as safe as the safest places anywhere in the world. That is just one of 50 states.
Eniolohunda: That is your choice, I leave with my family and peace of mind in the US to the glory of God. I've been working in big organizations since I've landed and never experienced the so called racism. America is a multi racial country, and if yourself are a racist, then you will witness racism. I've worked with both black, white and brown. Meanwhile, the gun violence in Nigeria is even more than the so called America with the rate of kidnapping, banditry going on. One chance is not a new thing to Lagos.
Exactly. In your part of US. You can't say same for every part of the US. Just like you can't say same for every part of Naija. I am an entrepreneur in naija. I will need to earn ten times more in US to live the quality of life I live here. Let's not even talk about taxes.
My ideal is to be able to go anywhere in the world whenever I need or want to, but my base, the place where my deepest roots and ultimate Investment in will always be in naija, then Africa before any where else.
P.S. Your claim that only racists experience racism is a fallacy. You and I know that. And you have probably not experienced racism because you behave and stay in line.
Eniolohunda: My answer is Yes, as someone who grew up in naija, worked in naija before relocating. I value my piece of mind, it's not only about money. Whenever, I remembered the type of stress I went through in the city of Lagos, I can't imagine myself continuing with that type of life. You have car, you cannot drive it in peace, traffic one, people lacking driving education dragging road with you, and you will eventually park that car for one side. A lot of people behave as if they are crazy. Neighbor generator will not let you sleep till 12am, another holier than thou Neighbor will begin night vigil by that 12am disturbing your sleep when you are living in a considerable better environment mainland, as if that is not enough, another preacher will start in own by 5am beside your window till 7am why won't someone break down in those scenarios. The stress is just too much in that country, it's not only about money. We have only one life to live, and one should enjoy it. I've heard many saying abroad is boring, in abroad you can create your fun and make your self happy.
I am in Lagos, i have structured myself and my life to ensure. I have peace of mind. If I was in the US and my kids were going to schools there, I will not have peace of mind, due to gun violence in schools and racism in society. To each is own
mascot345: If u save 500k everything month in Nigeria. After expenses. Will u consider travelling abroad ? U only work 3 hours a day in Nigeria. U don't pay house rent. U have your own car in Nigeria. U have peace of mind.
Mature minds only.
No, I will not. Even with 50 million a month. I will not. Japa for what?
Chilipepper: Took me 2 years to forgive myself: Man recounts the outcome of putting his phone on DND after losing his friend.
So what would you have done if they reached you? How did we cope.when we did not have mobile phones? You better go and find something truly evil.to feel.guilty about, my friend.
Putindbutt: You're deceiving yourself. Are Muslims not being killed too?. Have we not seen the Government negotiate with Niger Delta militants who are christians after kidnapping and killing expatriates?
He is really deceiving Himself. If He knew who Ted Cruz was and how His paid support for Isreal has shown that he doest really care what happens to innocent lives, he would shut up
I am not a fan of Onanuga, but I have watched some of those US senators speak on this matter, and all I can say is that they are so ignorant of what is going on here.
It is clear that the activities of terrorists in Nigeria, are are not targeted at Christians but at the citizenry as a whole , regardless of religious affiliations..
Are they conscious of all the Mosques that have been attacked and Muslims that have been kidnapped?
They should not come and use their fake religiosity to make matters worse for Nigerians as a whole
helinues: Please what exactly do you want. I have condemned the reckless statements by Sego even though you people can never condemn if the table was to be turned around.
Your Peter Obi has been reckless in several situation yet I haven't seen you condemning him
Stop this years of wailing, nagging on this forum
Peter Obi again. Una no dey tire to call Him name with every small opportunity.
Ofunaofu: The speed with which the Federal High Court swiftly entertained and discharged this case contrasts with the Supreme Court’s refusal to entertain the case concerning the illegal declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, brought by PDP governors in April.
The Supreme Court has continued to delay a decision on the matter until the emergency has effectively elapsed.
The voice of the Supreme Court, but the hand of Wike
What is really happening in this country? Is there a satanic cult within the government that is bent on destroying social values by celebrating people that lack them?
An Oba , from. Her state I think, called on the Lagos state government to make.an example.of Her to prevent others doing such, Lagos state rather made an ambassador.of her. Sad.
The way we still refer to murderers and terrorists as bandits shows the lack of seriousness in addressing the issues and the lack of value for the lives of innocent citizens. May God help us.
The Nigerian Inspector general of police Kayode Egbetokun has clarified why bandits on peace deal with the Nigerian government were not arrested. According to him , bandits that willingly surrendered cannot be arrested.. The IG stated .
Did He say "surrendered"? So are they in police custody after they surrendered? Or is any body that surrenders to the police now free to go.and Sin no more? What kind of unreasonable response is this?
Did the DSS even understand what Pat Utomi.was trying to do before running to the courts? Does the Judge even understand the matter that he is judging? What was the argument of the defence? Or was it an Ex-Parte motion?
FreeStuffsNG: Farmers said European buyers “were happy” to avoid Israeli produce amid boycott calls. “All of this led to a huge oversupply in the local market,” Amrosi said. Same Europe that urged them on is now tagging the Isreali mangoes as Genocidal mango. Smh.
It's now blood mangoes. Nobody with humanity and conscience outside Isreal will eat blood mangoes.
zero8zero: Your headline is disingenuous, why make it look like it had anything to do with Nigeria?. It was an intiative for to designate some parts of their municipalities as home towns for some selected African countries. And if they cancelled the initiative, what's our business with that?. If Government of Japan did not consult the local people before announcing such an initiative and the local people protested against it, which prompted their Government to reverse it, then what's our own business?. Why make it as if it had anything to do with us?. Be taking it easy with this agenda.
I am not necessarily a supporter of the current government but you are right. Some.of us hate the opposition so.much we are willing.to.manufacture lies to slander them.
LegendHero: So which civilian are NURTW using violence against and what is their political aim?
You mean NURTW members dey go around the environment dey look for civilians to unleash violence? Tell me more
You want to me to go and look for evidence for you, when the very news we are commenting under is enough evidence. Shamelon an NURTW.Leader who is also openly affiliated with the APC, battered and murdered a civilian in the full glare of the public, and no one dared stop him.or say anything, because they were so terrified of Him, because He has been terrorising.them for years.
If that is not.obvious to you, I am not sure any other evidence can help you.
