SouthernGuy: How una want make this abokis live na ?Okada riders in Edo state are not abokis. It isnt like Lagos and they are not reckless like Lagos okadas. It is only in Lagos, Ogun, Aba, Onitsha and a few other places you will see reckless okada riders. In places like Uyo, okada riders obey the traffic lights and drive with moderate speed. Recklesness in Lagos is not an okada thing, it is a Lagos thing. Even BRT drivers have become very reckless these days. |
Its better jare, let them go and enter skills acquisition center. Benin has a large population of artisans. Let them go and learn a trade. Okada is terrible. He can give the indegines loan to buy keke na pep. Or give them casual/manual labor opportunity like Fashola is doing for the ones working on the rail line in Lagos.
Most Okada riders in Edo state are old men and pensioniers, not young boys. The average Benin boy will not ride okada. They are too proud to do that. Most of you dont have a clue how these things work. You should ask questions first. |
One thing I dont like about this okada ban is the excuse that they are criminals. Most kidnappers in Edo state operate with cars, not okada. Most of them are cult boys and under graduates. If you must ban okada, please give better reasons, not this lame "okada riders are criminals" excuse. How can kidnappers use okada to carry their victims? SMH! |

All those people who come here to insult GEJ should be shipped to Kuwait, shikena! |
Teacher sentenced to 11 years in prison for insulting the Gulf state's ruler Huda al-Ajmi is latest Kuwaiti in spate of arrests for dissent against regime She insulted the Emir, described as 'immune and inviolable' in constitution A teacher has been sentenced to 11 years in prison today for tweets that insulted Kuwait's ruler and encouraged his overthrow. Huda al-Ajmi, 37, received the longest known sentence for online dissent in the Gulf state, according to Kuwaiti opposition groups. She reportedly faced three separate charges that included insulting the Emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, which carries a one-year sentence in itself. Insult: Disparaging Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, carries a one-year prison sentence Sheikh Sabah al-Sabah is described as 'immune and inviolable' in the constitution. The other two five-year prison terms were given for inciting rebellion against the regime and violating laws on public discussions. Although Kuwait is more liberal than many Gulf states, authorities are increasingly cracking down on perceived dissent over social media. Last month Mussallam al-Barrak, a former MP, was sentenced for five years for insulting the Emir but he managed to overturn the decision on appeal. Mr al-Barrak had warned the Emir in a speech that he would not be allowed to 'take Kuwait into the abyss of autocracy'. 'Inviolable': The Kuwaiti constitution describes the Emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah pictured with Barack Obama, as 'immune and inviolable' However, it is unusual for a woman to serve jail time for political crimes in Kuwait. Recently two female activists were punished with lighter jail terms but ended up with suspended sentences. Kuwait has not seen the same scale of pro-democracy uprisings as other Arab states but dozens of people across the Gulf region have been sentenced to jail for Twitter and blog posts in the past year. Unrest flared up in Kuwait in December last year after the emir changed an electoral law in the run-up to a public vote. Opposition parties said the move was intended to deny them a majority and they boycotted. Ms al-Ajmi will be able to appeal her three sentences http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2339110/Kuwaiti-woman-jailed-11-YEARS-tweeting-nations-ruler-overthrown.html |
kolaunited: Everything coming out of the military is only +ve, have never seen/heard where military execise is been deployed with no -ve casualities. Why them no allow jornalist make them investigate themself, they will just pack some cooperating notherners to speak in their favourSo Channels TV are now coorperating northerners? Please just shut it my friend. When the same Channels TV did the police college thing and embarrassed the FG, were you living in the moon then? |
toluleke: what he should have done since after killing over 5,000 people, he saw he is loosing his bid for 2015 now taking actions...thank GOD he did..yar'dua fast pass am with decision...JONATHAN..should learn a president must be FAST at DECISION,FIRM at his DECISION,PLAIN with it..that what other parties are playing on...Was it not the "fast" decision by Yaradua to kill their leader that triggered the whole bloodletting? You dont know what you are talking about. Yaradua pursued the ND militants for over one year and failed woefully before he decided to embrace the amnesty proposal. It was Yaradua's failure that eventually led to the death of thousands of people. |
PZ Wilmar, a joint venture of PZ and Wilmar international is set to invest $640 million to help revive the already diminishing palm oil industry in Nigeria. The project which is self funded has delivered a 1,000 tons daily capacity refinery in Ikorodu, Lagos and is also poised to amass a 50,000 hectares of plantation said Christos Giannopoulos, Chief Executive Officer, PZ Cussons. He stressed that the company’s desire to veer into palm oil production was orchestrated by the desire to fill the significant demand gap in Nigeria’s palm oil market which is currently filled by finished products smuggled into the country. He lamented the country’s export of only seven percent of palm oil in comparison to its 82 percent export in the 60’s, a phenomenon he believes PZ Wilmar would address. “The project will create new income, new markets for local industries and job opportunities for indigenous communities”, said Giannopoulos According to him over 12,000 and 33,000 direct jobs and indirect jobs will be created respectively at various skill levels. Continuing, he said that over 600,000 high yield plants have been transplanted, while 2.1 million seedlings are at four nursery sites across the site within a palm nursery. The project also includes a current training school located in Mbarakom, Cross-River, for training of extension workers in modern farming practices. Giannopoulos noted that the project will also deliver Nigerians with fresh palm oil which is currently lacking in the market as most palm oil are imported into the country, a process which lasts over a period of three months before getting to the final consumer. “Our 1000 tons capacity refinery located in Lagos is a world class refinery designed to provide Nigerians with pure palm oil”, said Emmanuel Kattie, Supply Chain Director, PZ Wilmer. “We will also ensure we maintain high quality control standards in our refinery to meet up with best standard in the world,” he added. http://businessdaynigeria.com/pz-wilmar-veers-palm-oil-market-640-mn-investment#.UbcTwzGSgo0.facebook |
Prof Corruption: Even when Buhari and Tinubu were not mentioned in the video? The video makes them look more like the foools they are. They have become instruments of propaganda who are helping the insurgency to drive their propaganda that the SOE is not working. I will call them exactly what they are. Infact, they are worse than what I called them Did you watch where the villagers where applauding the military and the praise from that village leader? Astounding and awesome stuff. I couldnt help but stand on my feet and clap! Awesome stuff!!! |
abagoro: How does the video concern Buhari and Tinubu. The villagers claim the Boko Haram guys are not Nigerians. I believe they were talking about the real Jihadist Boko Haram but I believe the political ones are Nigerians. You sure missed the point. According to Buhari and Tinubu, the SOE is a failure GEJ is killing innocent Nigerians. Buhari said GEJ should not use force to push them out. Tinubu says they are innocent. But the video says it all. I just read another thread where some ACN supporter posted that the people of those states are angry with GEJ. It is sad that when we should all join hands to flush this people out, Buhari, Tinubu and their supporters are telling us to leave them alone. They have now become Boka Haram supporters and are helping Boko Haram spread false propaganda to discredit the war. Thank God for a credible news house like Channels TV. If you follow Sahara Reporters, you will be shocked when you watch this video because according to sahara reporters and all their reporting, FG is just killing innocent Nigerians and terrorising the people of Borno state. |
After watching this video, i feel like giving Buhari and Tinubu a hot slap each! These guys should be in jail, if not for this democracy thing. They are very BIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGG FOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLSSS! |
Intriguing Stuff!!! Watch Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLCvBETuQLw What the enemies of Nigeria will never want you to watch! |
take dat: There is nothing to spin here. BH did not start with Sherrif, it is a phenomenon that developed over time since 1995. Sherrif can be accused of arming and sponsoring political thugs(ECOMOG) to execute criminal political activities similar to other political militia gangs in other parts of the country! Didn't BH eventually murder a cousin of his after he withdrew financial support when the group demanded that he implement shariah law? Why is it that most of the Borno politicians arrested or interrogated in connection to BH after the demise of Yusuf are now PDP members eg Ndume n Zannah formally in ANPP now in PDP? At the time Sherrif was sponsoring them in Borno, so was Yuguda doing the same in Bauchi. Isn't Yuguda, formally in ANPP now in PDP? Wasn't it a late Ambassador Pindar, a prominent PDP member who stepped in after the relationship between ECOMOG and Sherrif went sour, and after Pindar died in an auto accident Wasn't it Ndume, a PDP senator who stepped in to fill the vacuum left by Pindar? All these a certain Ali konguda confessed during his interrogation with SSS.You tried to play a fast one, but got stuck! The problem with most of you is that all your arguments and post has to end as either an insult to GEJ or an attempt to rope in and ridicule/denigrate GEJ. That is why you guys keep coming up looking "you know what"... As long as that is your core motive, it will keep making your arguments useless. The only correct part of your argument is the part that correlates with Azazi's point which most of you tried to spin to your "agenda's" advantage. And that is the fact that apart from the Intra party struggle for power across the country and the north in particular, there is the unholy alliance to return power back to the north and this cuts across all the parties. That was Azazi's point. Azazi stressed the fact that the BH thing escalated in the wake of the pursuit of a consensus candidate by some northern elders. This was very correct. But this itself was north a PDP movement. It was a movement that cut across all the parties. Ribadu visited IBB and even got IBB's blessing. Buhari visited many northern PDP elders during the same period. But yes, according to Azazi, what really triggered that movement was the internal struggle for power in the PDP where some wanted the power to return to the north. That is where he used that phrase, PDP is Boko Haram. But most of you deceitfully tried to spin something else out of it and of course, the biased press took it out of context and made something else out of it. Unfortunately, the unpatriotic press destroyed the opportunity for Nigerians to discuss a very valid and salient point Azazi had raised. Azazi's point was very much in tandem with the call for a sovereign national conference. The same Azazi asked GEJ to arrest Buhari and hold him responsible for BH. If Azazi meant what you folks and the biased press painted, why did he call for Buhari's arrest, a call which GEJ refused and rightly so because the FG would have lost the case in court for want of "hard evidence" and the result would have been most damaging. It is almost impossible to link terrorist cells to their sponsors. Even the US has not been able to do it successfully. Most of the interactions are undocumented and through proxies. You can have intelligence information about it, but getting hard evidence to prove anything in court is almost impossible. That is the dilemma the US is facing in Guantanamo Bay. Most of the criminals in Guantanamo would be released for want of credible evidence if prosecuted in a regular court of law. But intelligence reports confirm these people are terrorists or terrorist collaborators. Do the US allow them to go back into society just like that, knowing they could go on and blow up a train or airplane. A serious catch 22 situation. The truth about this whole episode is that we have been thrown into a new kind of problem by a diabolical opposition. Nigeria would have been better with a genuine opposition who wish us well and criticize government policies and performance. But we have a terrible opposition, whose only goal is to become the new PDP! Control the power! Control the oil! Just look at all the northern governors opposed to GEJ. Are they examples of good governance? Is Amaechi an example of good governance? If El Rufai, Tambuwal, Buhari, Tinubu etc examples of good governance. I can come here and insult you all day and I might be justified but I choose to appeal to your inner conscience. You dont need to vote for GEJ or support him, but these your campaign to pull down Nigeria isnt working and will never work. If you truly believe in Nigeria, then you lot must stop the hate. GEJ is not being criticized because of bad governance, but because he is a minority who "have taken the north's slot". If you say I am wrong, then why was he being criticized from the day he became president? Why did the post election riots start when the results were not even out? Why did the north threathen to make the nation ungovernable and since then, we havent had one day of peace? Why is there an attempt to ridicule, belittle, twist and denigrate every effort of GEJ even to the point where someone is angry that BH is being curtailed. That is why I said you cannot spin this however you try. |
KokoBeware: You said the upgrade should take months instead of years.. that is the part i dont understand... Its annoying the way we prefer negative reports up to the extent that even when we see a good one like "a power plant being completed", we still manage to twist it and dwell on the negative..I dont think he has ever witnessed any major project all his life so he has no clue how long these things take |
HAH: This power plant was commissioned by Obasanjo in 2007.Obviously, you are the one fooling yourself. If it was commissioned in 2007, why didnt power improve in 2007? SMH! |
Some of you just comment for comment sake. The bottom line of this committee is to actually find out if there is some kind of sabotage. Just re-read the ministers statement again and you will get the gist. He has been saying repeatedly, that the FG will not tolerate these kind of system collapse. The tone is clearly that of suspicion of sabotage. Secondly, saying committee is to chop money is just repeating what dumb critics like to say. How much do you think is allocated to these committees? You think the FG just throws millions and billions into these committees? What is the budget of the power ministry? Some of you should talk more intelligently and not just dumbly repeat what others say. This is a welcome development. This is a technical commitee and it is high time real engineers look into the system failures. |
take dat: Silly excuse? 3 years after it became full blown, you are still giving flimsy excuse of due process? What polity are you managing? If the sponsors are untouchable, what makes you think we will see an end to the insurgency! So is this your argument to justify your support for the sponsors? |
take dat: ^ Isn't Modu Sherrif a friend of GEJ? Isn't that why he has not been arrested even when he (Jonathan) knows how connected Modu Sherrif is to the rise of BH insurgency? I wonder if The movers of APC will be that silly to put someone whose allegiance/loyalty is in doubt as their BOT chairman!Modu Sherrif is a former ANPP governor under whose watch Boko Haram started and flourished in Borno state. Your spin will not work. Modu Sherrif is an opposition stalwart, not GEJ's friend. He is a prodigy of Buhari and is now working with APC. You cant change history...sorry... ![]() |
automaticcarzz: Nonsense! God bless Azazi! Everyone know PDP is Boko Haram, Boko Haram is PDP. OP your desperation is unprecedented. You can shout all you like, but cant change the facts. You people have tried to spin Azazi's statements to futher your BH agenda all this while but lost the plot when GEJ declared the SOE! Since then, the same APC goons who where insulting GEJ for not being hard on BH have suddenly become BH's advocates. Now Buhari says GEJ is too hard on them. The truth can be surberted for only a while but not forever. You cannot fool all the people all the time! |
Feel what pain ? Are you high ? Obama has been slashing defense budget amid strong criticism from the republicans and you are talking trash that they won't criticize him on issues of National security ! I guess you are suffering from fallacy of the brain.
Look, I admire your effort, but you are beginning to sound really dumb! Give it up! Americans, whether democrats or republicans, have never supported insurgency or defended them. You should just do what Liar Mohhamed should have done long ago and stop making a foool of yourself! Shut it! |
eGuerrilla: At a time when there are increasing concerns about the loss of civic privileges and personal freedoms in a number of countries, the nairaland commentariat needs to decide whether or not the questions raised by member of the opposition have some merit.Liar Mohammed is the one who should take a que from the US and shut up! No republican or democrat criticizes their government in the fight against terrorism. They can criticize policies of government but when it comes to flushing out insurgency, they give it their 100% support! Your argument is childish! Buhari said it was wrong to flush them out, simple! There is nothing to explain there. It was blunt support for Boko Haram and if Nigeria was not a democratic state, he would have been arrested and executed straight away! |
justsayemma: @lastpope, if Azazi had accused Acn,u wuldnt ve said wat u said,u wuld ve bin quoting him. @ slim ghost,if they d govt is really serious in flushing them out,wat ve dey done 2 d senators that was caught? U tink Fg don't know who their sponsors are? Make una try get small sense, get regard 4 some knowledgeable Nigerians. What kind of argument is this? The reality on the ground is that Buhari, Tinubu and Liar Mohammed are defending Boko Haram! Am I the one that put the statements in their mouths? They are defending BH, simple! They are asking the FG to stop flushing out BH. Buhari clearly said it was wrong to flush them out! What is there to argue again? Some of you dont even know when to shut it, honestly! ![]() |
Buhari said they should not be flushed out but giving money like the ND militants. Tinubu said some of them are innocent. I dont know where you can put in azazi's statement in all this. It is just lame arguments you ACN/CPC chaps are engaging in |
The only sensible post so far.Azazi was the NSA who had access to all security intelligence;he wasn't a northerner but a southerner from Bayelsa who stunned the world that PDP was/is behind Boko Haram. Is senator Ndume an ACN memeber ? Is Azazi an ACN member ? Even Jonathan admitted the presence of BOKO HARAM in his cabinet yet he hasn't tell us who they are ! ACN has the right to hold its view on any issue concerning the government of Nigeria either the FG likes it or not.Its a democracy and everyone has the right to hold his/her own view. This is exactly what's happening in the US: Media freedom VS National security. Republicans tackle OBAMA on virtually everything he does but I've never seen his party bad-mouthing the GOP.what's the problem with PDP and their endless bitching about opposition ?
I feel your pain, trying to defend the indefensible! Buhari and Tinubu just keep exposing themselves and you lot are trying so hard to do damage control but Liar Mohammed wont stop. lol. I feel your pain bro but it is what it is! ACN and CPC are the advocates for BOko Haram and that is clear for all to see. THe GOP will never oppose Obama on issues of national security and fight against terrorism, so your defence is just what it is. trash only fit for the dustbin! |
Toktee: No sir,you are a fool,Azazi was in pdp and he said boko hallam are in pdp, jonathan confessed that bokohallam infiltrate his government uptill now they have not fish them out,can you support your argument with evidence that buhari have hand in bokohallam or you are just talking because of hate? You are still quoting this azazi trash? If PDP is Boko Haram, why is it Buhari and Tinubu that are defending them? Does that make any sense to you? Just imagine your contradiction! Buhari and Tinubu are now the biggest advocates of Boko Haram and we have it on record. Anybody who supports Boko Haram and is against the government flushing them out completely, is a sponsor, period! We now know who the real sponsors are. Government will not arrest them because you cannot use their supportive statements as evidence to prosecute them in court, but in the court of public opinion, it is very clear who the real supporters and sponsors are. You can hear it from the horses mouth, directly! |
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Monday accused the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, of trying to use the press as a subterfuge to hide its support for insurgents and to whittle the current efforts by the Federal Government to end acts of terrorism in the country. The ruling party, which threw its weight behind President Goodluck Jonathan, said contrary to the claims by the ACN, no part of the Presidential Order proscribing terrorists groups, directly or indirectly violated any provision of the constitution or impinged on the freedom of the press in the country. The party was reacting to a statement by ACN on Sunday alleging the Presidential Order was aimed at gagging the press. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/138380-pdp-to-acn-stop-hiding-your-support-for-insurgents.html Full Text Below: http://peoplesdemocraticparty.com.ng/?p=555 |
Unity School Cut Off Mark..Zamfara 2..Anambra 139 (See Full List) The recent cut off marks released for entrance into Nigeria Unity Schools is raising dust across the country. Students who score above the cut-off are automatically eligible for admission on merit. The Education ministry advised parents to check the results of their wards which have been posted on notice board of all Unity Colleges throughout the Federation. These are the full cut off points into Nigeria Unity Schools as published by the Federal Ministry of Education. texaco1: kindly point to me 1 place in the whoe write up wher obj name is mentioned apart from the topic headline?this shows that u didnt read the whole writeupIf you don't understand the topic, please ask questions. Those who understand have commented. OBJ has endorsed the gov of Jigawa state as the next president of Nigeria and I am simply showing you the govs performance. |
payless: It does not take a rocket scientist to know that. Do extensive reading and research about states in Nigeria when it comes to generating revenue. How much do these states generate locally? How many industries do they have? How many graduates reside in these states? What is the population of these states. What's point are you making? The world bank report says Jigawa is the poorest state. You are trying to generate your own report from you BB phone abi? Abi is it PDP or GEJ that said it again? The man presides as gov over the poorest state and hasn't been able to change their lot, simple. You could has even giving him some slack if the report had said Jigawa was like the 20th poorest out of 36. One could have argue then that he will do well with more resources. But he is last, so no excuse will suffice! The lesson of this is that, 2015 is not a fight by politicians to bring good governance. It is a fight for domination and return to the status quo. |
9jaganja: Same rail that went off track? Lmao!!!!Rail does not and cannot go off track! Only trains go off track! Get some education and stop making a fool of yourself! |
Maybe OBJ wants to make all Nigerians poor... ![]() |
