Edenitis: Gbawe and thelastpope.

I feel you guys and I weep for Nigeria.

Like him or hate him, Mr. President spoke the truth about us.

Our elders, and I am one of them, have failed us woefully by innumerable and persistent bad examples and and a complete lack of regard for the future. Leaders, especially from Babangida to date have preferred crooked and dishonest means to rule. They have stolen our commonwealth and encouraged others to do the same.

Political parties are formed not with any ideologies but for the agreement of like minded people to continue the despoilation of a colonised people.

Civil servants lord it over the society they are supposed to serve.

Why does the president need a fleet of private planes?
Why are presidents and governors and local council chairmen suddenly stupendously rich once they taste the office?

The young ones grow up seeing their elders blatantly display selfish thieving character all of the time.

A former president was accused of sleeping with his daughter in law. he is still respected in Nigeria!
Elders sleep around with their grand daughters!

So Mr. President sees all these and tells us to start the correction with our own lives.

He is right.

He is leading the way.

He will lead by example

Give him time.

We need to change and we do need a leader for the change.

May God use our president to change Nigeria. Amen

You have only elaborated my statements. I hope Gbawe will put his tribalism and partisan sword back in the sheath and do the right thing.

Gbawe:

Shut up reprobate. You are nothing but a clannish clown. Sadly for you, Nigeria cannot exist in a vacuum. It is this very fact responsible for the lamentation GEJ now makes. What Mr.President really means is that Nigerians, gradually, are becoming more radical and not willing to stand by while him and his ilk loot the nation blind as has always obtained. A fool like like sees nothing wrong with a man who runs a ten airplane fleet asking for respect when his peers who are heads of much richer and more stable nations have one airplane or even non at at. Charity begins at home azzlicking m0r0n.

You just keep showing who you really are. I need not say more. According to you, GEJ has bought 10 planes since he became president. Well done! Clap! Clap!! Clap!!!

You even know what he really means. I guess you must be related to Matt Parkman in the series, heroes. You must be a powerful psychic and mind reader. You even know what Nigerians think right from your desk at Alausa! Wonderful! Most interesting part is that, according to your logic, the whole country was paradise when GEJ took over and GEJ has since destroyed everything. WOW! You are good!...

Besides, I will not come down low to your gutter language level...Am too much for that

Jenams: The way some of u guys insult GEJ leaves me wonderin how u talk to ur folks at home. #sigh.

What is even worse is that the statement had nothing in it to warrant an insult. How do you insult someone for calling for a change in society? What correlation has the president statement with insults? The statement is one that calls for engaging debate about the ills of society and what is needed. Even if you want to apportion some blame to the president himself, that is understood, but there is absolutely nothing in the statement that warranted insults. It is just a sad parttern these folks have imbibed on NL. They have become like programmed insult spewing robots. Honestly I think they have actually typed the insults in a text editor, distributed it amongst themselves and just copy and paste it into threads. So they just go to the frontpage or politics section, they read through the topic list, open a thread with GEJ's name or something related to GEJ and just paste it. That is the only explanation for their actions

Shut up crybaby. You only know how to report posts to mods so get your cowardly self out of my face.

You know yourself. You have to work for your pay, I understand that, but you have absolutely no reason to behave like a tout, even if you are one. There is nothing in that presidential statement that warrants your insults. That is a commendable statement from a president. The kind only profound leaders make, but you went on a childish tangent and just must do what you are paid to do. Very uncalled for and shameful

I've never seen Obama throwing insults at American citizens for the senseless killings that happen daily.

This is the result of free and useless education. How is that statement an insult to Nigerians? A president comes out to lay bare the ills of society and calls for change and you say it is an insult? What kind of school did you attend? SMH

GEJ under 2 years has rehabilitated the Lagos-Kano and Aladja-Ajaokuta rail tracks and they are back up running. The Abuja city rail is nearing completion too while Fashola/ACN light rail is still crawling at snail speed after 6 years. Yet they say he is performing. They even compare him with Akpabio who has been building stuff from scratch. Even the much talked about Lekki road is not a new road. It was only expanded and is now being tolled. Ikorodu road hopefully will be completed before the end of the world. Every other major BRT road belongs to the FG!

Isnt it shameful and a true sign of failure for someone to post this as an achievement of a serving governor after 6 years? This is like community news item, not a national news item. It shows a lack of real stuff on the ground.

Ngwakwe:

If you can reach T. A. Orji's threads where he signed different MOUs with different Western and Asians Captains of industries on establishment of industries in various locations in Abia State and the corresponding responses in those threads from Nairalanders including Ngwakwe, there are always skepticism unless those projects reach 75% completion or are commissioned.

Nobody gives credit to T. A. Orji or Peter Obi for initiating an uncompleted development plan, signing of MOU or flagging off any project whereas we are inundated with praises of S/Western Governors "will" futuristic terms initiated projects and development plans. Whether these projects will ever be completed or not become issue for another day.

That is why some of us will continue to laugh at the so called Fashola's achievements because they are all paper stuff. Just imagine things that have been lauded in the last few weeks...

1. A slab making factory

2. Plans to generate 50MW

3. A cooking gas shop

4. 1 suspension bridge in 6 years (14 years ACN) with N300 toll on each pass

5. Lastma traffic training

This is so pathetic and shameful. If this is all this man has achieved after 6 years, then he has done nothing. What we expect

1. A few world class hospitals

2. Good public schools not the ones without chairs and astronomical school fees

3. Good roads, not only in ikoyi but in Ikeja, Ikotun, Isolo, Sattelite town, Ikorodu, etc

4. Portable drinking water in homes

Just to mention a few. I will commend Fashola for his beautification project and the traffic lights, but apart from that, he has done nothin much else. How many major roads has he built in the last 6 years? Lagos drainage is still a disaster. No improvement in the water ways. The BRT has become molue again with 45 sitting and 99 standing. I could go on and on but the facts are there to speak for themselves. Most of what you hear is propaganda and more propaganda!

Politics / Man Invites JTF To Kill His ‘boko Haram’ Son by thelastPope(m): 11:45pm On Jun 14, 2013
The son was eventually killed.

A Maiduguri-based businessman (name withheld for security reasons) on Thursday turned in his biological son, a member of the extremist Boko Haram sect to the Joint Task Force, JTF, with an order that he should be shot dead, witnesses said.

The son, according to close family sources, had once threatened to kill his father before he fled home and returned only recently as security operatives continue to clamp down on the sect.

He was said to have returned as a prodigal son, seeking asylum in his father’s compound.

“After confessing all his crimes, including how he participated in the killing of people and looting of banks to his father, the old man said he has no such conscience to keep a killer son in his home,” said a close family member under anonymity.

The 60-year old Kanuri man, who lives in Babban-Line Commercial Area, Maiduguri, simply approached the Sector Office of the JTF and told them about his son.

Witnesses quoted him as saying, “This boy is my son; he is a confirmed member of Boko Haram and has killed many people, he too should be killed.”

In a dramatic twist, as the young man attempted to flee from the soldiers to whom his father handed him, he was shot at and struck down by a bullet.

He later died. His father, who was yet to leave the scene simply turned around, looked at the writhing body of his son on the ground and said, “Masha Allah” meaning, “To God be the glory.”

Before he was handed over to the soldiers, the young man was said to have revealed to his father and family members that he possessed two cars and had millions of naira buried somewhere near his family home.

But the reportedly father said he had no interest in the ill-gotten assets and had no intention of inheriting them as according to Islamic laws, they are ‘haram’ (unlawful).

I think most PDP governors are performing poorly due to several reasons, which include,
(1) No formidable opposition within the state's governed by PDP (lackadaisical attitude to governance by governors)
(2)The quality of personalities at the party's national leadership.
(3)The primary process in imposition, selection or election usually churns out wrong gubernatorial candidates.

Most PDP govs are performing badly yet the best govs in the country since 1999 are PDP governors. Please what is the achievement of nasarawa, ogun, oyo, ekiti and osun govs again? Oh I forgot, the osun guy bought pads for students without classes and teachers, sorry. What a great achievement, lol. And the other one built a flyover bridge. Lol

Compare that pathetic list with Enugu, Rivers, Akwa ibom, Cross rivers and even ondo states and tell me again which govs are performing poorly. Lol

Don't mind the yeye guy. If he sees a picture of a primary school in Akwa ibom state, he will faint. lol

I am not an Amaechi fan, but when it comes to schools, Amaechi scores A1. Fantastic schools. The funny chap now went on to say fashola is catering for 4 million school children! What a dolt and a BIG LIAR! I don't even have one friend who's child attends a public school. The ratio of public to private schools in Lagos is like 1:800 some whole local governments don't have more than 3 public schools. lol

This is junk journalism at its best. I just stopped reading at the point where it said the oil production was at its lowest ever, even lower than at the peak of militancy and he quoted a figure of 1.3 million barrels per day. Lol. At the peak of militancy, Nigeria was producing 700, 000 barrels per day. That completely gave them up as shameless liars that cooked up their news from their azz! This is a totally false and bizzaire story. This is not the way to do opposition but it the sad story of Nigeria. There was an agreement in 1999 that after Ogba/Ndoni comes Ikwerre, Ogoni, Etche in that order before it goes riverine again. That's the cause of all these problems. Someone wants her brother there in 2015. Ikwerre is by far the largest ethnic group in Rivers State and hold 50% of the voting population while when combined with other upland people + Igbos are up to 80% of the population. So they hold the key.

You lot have no shame. You just have to come up with some junk to justify nonsense. Please can you produce a copy of the agreement? SMH!
