Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Mocks Nigerian Youths by TheMadame(f): 5:39pm On Feb 14, 2016
This man must be joking.
In the 1980s the Silverbird group promoted only foreign bands at the National theatre Iganmu. Shalamar,Delegation,The whispers,Kool and the Gang,Carrie Lucas, Rafael Cameron, and Dynasty to mention a few were groups he promoted using our national heritage the National Theatre(using his Stella Obasanjo connections)
Not once did he promote one Nigerian act such as Fela, Osadebe, or Dan Maraya Jos.
And when he was finally made Director General of NTA courtesy of Stella Obaxanjo again he siphoned the funds and used them to set up Silverbird Cinemas where he shows American films.

Crime / Re: Help!!! - Oppression Of Lives And Properties At Oke-afa by TheMadame(f): 4:01pm On Feb 14, 2016
I drive through this area everyday on my way to work and the OP has not described the amount of damage. The place is like a war zone with fences pulled down,windows smashed, roofs destroyed and pulled off, and whole buildings pulled down by these hoodlum/omo oniles.
So far the police have refused to intervene because the Ajao estate police station is on that road.
The situation is pathetic and the lives of the residents of that area are in serious danger.
As for the moderators of this forum...........!
Autos / Re: Case Of FRAUD Against Chucky234 by TheMadame(f): 10:25pm On Feb 05, 2016
NexTrend:
Dear NLer, I write this with pain in my heart, not necessarily for sympathy but to help others make more informed decisions when dealing with people online…this is not to say you do not have honest people online.

I have been in this forum for quite sometime, I needed a car and I checked so many posts, contacted those that I liked their offers and spoke with them but I was finally “hooked” with a forumite with ‘chucky234’ moniker based on his threads on “Benz swap” and “Cotonou car dealer”. I contacted him and discussed several times and agreed on some things. In July 2015 he made me an offer of a 2004 model C200 Kompressor at N800K with 78,000KM, EU-Specs, almost toks with pictures, because of how we had “related” and “testimonies” from other people online, I sent N815K to him(through bank transfer and deposit evidences which I still have) to him, 15K being part-payment for the driver. This was on July 8,2015. it took four(4) days for the car to get to Uyo-Akwa Ibom State.

When the car got to Uyo, I realized the following: the A/C was not working, the sound system was not working, the car was calibrated in MILES not Kilometers, the pointers(trafficators) and headlamps were not working. The on-board computer on the car reported 15 faults. And mileage was 152,000MILES not KILOMETERS again which is approx. 253,000KM. I was quite unhappy and reported those to him.

Later, I discovered that the car was converted and the VIN tampered with(last six digit scrapped off)….this really scared me for obvious reasons(felt the car COULD have been obtained through questionable circumstances), I rejected the car that same day and he said it was his mistake he will replace the car. Later he sent the driver to come pick the car and told me he was out of the country(Benin) so can not remit money to the driver, I should please assist with 20K which I did – bringing the total to N850K.

Pls. friends, till date, chucky234 has not given me a car or my money despite all my patience, entreaties, show of empathy and understanding. I am using this medium to plead with members of this forum who may know him to tell him to refund my money in the name of God or that which he holds most sacred.

I know, so many people will call me names for trusting him with my money, but I have trusted others and they delivered. I have done business with ‘Remiloy’, ‘CrossFire’, ‘Adasco’ and ‘Jaxxy’ and they were NOT fraudulent.

Please anyone that have a relationship with him should PLEASE plead with him to refund my money because this is the last “family settlement avenue”. I will give his personal details and pictures of the car next time I am updating this…if he does not respond responsibly.

Thank you all.

Business / Re: Delay In Clearing My Cars At Lagos Port...am I Being Scammed? by TheMadame(f): 9:35pm On Feb 05, 2016
@eksammy,
There are three lanes in customs ASYCUDA ++ clearing system namely,red,green and blue lanes.
If your consignment falls on the red lane it means the consignment is highly suspect and MUST be physically examined 100%. No short cuts.
Secondly the amount of money you provided for clearing that container of three vehicles is highly inadequate.
However since you can not locate/contact the clearing agent my sincere advise to you is to contact a maritime lawyer and go to the port/terminal of landing vehicle seat in order to get to the root and reason for the delay in clearing the vehicles. The reason I advise you to engage a maritme lawyer is because no one can predict the atrocity commited by your agent. If he has falsified documentation or forged bank recepts(the operating word is("IF") you could be arrested and detained if you go there without a lawyer.
Another scenario is the agent might have cleared the container out of the port and the container was intercepted by the Federal Operations Unit and taken to their warehouse in Ikeja.
All my advise remains a hypothesis until you visit the port yourself preferably with a lawyer.
Good luck.

I have got a daughter and two boys. The boys are in the university and the girl is in jss3.
As long as you live under my roof and myself and my husband slave to feed,clothe and house you-YOU WILL OBEY MY RULES!
When you get a job and start feeding yourself and realise how difficult it is to make one kobo in this country,you are free to do what you want.
@OP, your parents love and care for you but they dont want you to make the errors and mistakes they made at your age. Learn to appreciate them and understand that it is easy t complain about having no shoes,but just wait till you see a person that has no legs. Appreciate your parents,young man,it is not easy being a parent in Nigeria-take it from somebody that has been there and done that.....goodluck.

This is so irritating. While I commend the government for moving against Dikko Inde,I must say this is coming months late after the eagle has escaped from the nest.
Common investigation by the EFCC would have shown them that Dikko has chainsd of properties including hotels in Dubai. Infact in the last months of the Jonathan administration Dikko spent a week in Nigeria and two weeks in Dubai feathering his nest through stolen funds.
This man is one of the richest men in this country. He would not come back till Buhari is out of power.
It is common sense.

@Oyind17,
At the point of soundind rude,I would advise you to mind your own business.
Relationships between couples are complicated enough without additional complications from intruding third parties like yourself.
You dont live with your elder brother and his wife so you can never understand what works for them. They appear to be a happy couple,so dont try to set the cat among the pigeons in a peaceful and joyful home.
Go and build your own home.

@asids55,
Never trust a scammer, if you read all the scam threads on this forum,all the scammers have a common tactic which is to promise to reimburse but on the day of repayment,they renage.
Scammers are never to be trusted or believed and that is why they are called scammers in the first place because they are dishonest and fraudulent.
So to catch a scammer,you have to play the scammer at his dirty game.
Edit your thread title to include his full names immediately.
Good morning.

^@Oliverjiad,
I would advise you sincerely in your own interest and the interest of your business to either refund the OP,the equivalent of the cost of his spare tyre or in the alternative return his spare tyre to him.
He does noty want to meet with you so understand that is out of the question. I believe the OP has been tolerant enough with you and given you adequate time to retrace your steps and do the right thing.
A word is enough for the wise. Stop pussyfooting around and tell him the genuine steps you want to take to reimburse him before things get totally out of hand.

While this apology is welcomed,I still feel it is an after thought.
All the chest beating was totally not neccessary and brings you across as some one forced to apologise because of the way your sales threads are being picketted by Nairalanders.
Apology should be sincere and from the heart,while your apology comes across as forced and insincere backed by totally unneccesary bragging and chest beating.
While this forced apology is welcome,just know you are under the rader and being watched.
Once again I come in peace as always.

Ok no time to wait till 6pm this is my offer.

I am not a Mercedes person, I'm more of a french/jap/korean vehicle lover.

I have read from top to bottom, and I think it is time to put closure to this matter.

I have seen the vehicle in question only in pictures (oseris and chuckys) .

This is my offer. I will buy the vehicle from oseri (if he is willing to sell at the amount he agreed to collect from chucky234 as a refund)

The vehicle is currently in PH, I have a friend in ph (Digital Carsolutions Ltd. 36 Eze Gbakagbaka Avenue Woji off Woji Elelenwo road by Chelsea filling station) he will take delivery of the vehicle and document the present state of the vehicle. I will pay for the repairs of the vehicle and the car will be up for sale here on NL after the repair work is done.

All work on the car will be documented in pics and the repairs can be followed on a thread I will create specially for the said vehicle.

If this deal will work oseri just indicate interest here and contact me off the forum.

Please note I am not in support of what chucky has done by not fully disclosing problems with the vehicle.

My offer closes 3pm on Monday October 12th 2015.

@Mr Oseri,
I will only say this once,be wary of these kinds of deals. Collect your full money up front before transfering the vehicle to anybody so you dont get burnt twice.
Be very careful,because what you have you hold.
A word is enough for the wise.

This thread is really derailing.

Let's get back to the facts.

Chucky234 sold a car to oseri.

Oseri claimed chucky did not fully disclose all the faults the car had.

Please let's stop all the name calling and adverts it's not really helping.

Oseri can you make the car available for inspection in PH, I would like a third party to have a look at the car. Chucky is the offer still open for vehicle return?

Below is a pic of the roads I passed while driving to ph on my last trip, there was a time I drove through 2ft of mud I lost my cooling fan during that trip. A lot can really go wrong while trying to deliver a vehicle.

Chucky/oseri please calm down and settle this.

Oseri please send me your number. 08023251039.

It is disgraceful,biased and dishonest disgusting comments like this that has turned this section of Nairaland to a safe haven for scammers. I remember that the disgraced moderator chelseabmw used to make these kind of comments in support of InspiredM, on the numerous scam threads about his neferious activities.

With all the threads flying all over this forum about people being scammed,I find it utterly ridiculous that someone like this OP could still send money to anyone in this country without seeing what you want to buy physically!?
The mind just boogles......
Let us even step out of cyberspace and come back to the real world...I personally can never give a dime to any seller except I physically inspect what I am buying or I take a professional along to give me a second opinion. I guess I am old fashioned but I am stuck on my ways.

@peachesafrique,
Never negotiate with a scammer, because they are fraudulent and will always change the rules of the game mid way into the match.
My sincere advise to you is to involve the law enforcement agencies in this case. Incident the case at a police station near you. Then travel down to Benin city in order to officially insitute a case against her in a police station in Benin. Anything else is posturing and it can not affect a staunch scammer like jennyluv.

The musical video she did for Obesere showed she had no dancing talent except to shake her obscene amd massive mammary glands.
So what is this award for?

@Anitafrancis,
Darling,
This is a mess,but when you play with fire,you are bound to get burnt.
You are pregnant,and your cash cow has abandoned you. What to do now?
I suggest you take some of the money he gave/was giving you and start a small business in front of your house,for example selling small denomination recharge cards/phone call business.
I am gonna be brutally frank with you,bringing up a child is not easy. You are gonna need money for antenatal fees and post natal after the baby is delivered.
Baby clothes,nappies and other sundry expenses are no joke.
Find something doing that will bring in petty cash because I am totally worried about the future of that baby in your womb.
Try your best for now and when you put to bed,come back here with your story. I am sure people will help you out.
Be strong dear.

The management structure has to be dismantled and all Dikkos cronies must be retired.
Clear out the top echelons of the service by retiring identified corrupt officers.
Promote reputable officers to positions of authority.
Boost morale of officers by paying them salaries in accordance to what they generate.
Instil discipline in the service by streamlining the promotions system that Dikko stagnated for six years.
Proffesionalise the force by weeding out tired legs and employing young graduates.
Rotate officers regularly so that no one stays on a seat too long.
Introduce proper computerisation and reduce face to face contact between officers and importer/exporters.
It is not so difficult.
