No, not because you are a woman, but because you are human being, who i'm sure at the time you were 17, you did many things your parents did not know about or sanction.

I was in the university at 16 and my parents did not know half the things i did and neither did many of my classmates parents. Our parents would have fainted if they knew! So bringing up properly is neither here nor there. I just thank goodness we all lived and came out unscathed to become who we are today, some were not so lucky.

Whether its a girl or boy, i know and so do you that many parents have no idea what their teenage kids are up to, not because they dont want to know, but because teenagers do hide lots from their parents.


Maybe it was different for you age wise, but i find it strange that you would blame any parent for any of the above.

Also we do not know the circumstances , if you dont believe everything she wrote about the rape, why do you believe everything she wrote about her curfew etc?

Sorry to burst your bubble, maybe your kids are still small, but once your kids reach a certain age, I can tell you for free that you may know just half of what they get up to and nothing more unless they decide to let you know, believe me or not.

critique these crimes objectively, child abuse is no solely found among Catholic priest, it is also among Protestant pastors, Jewish rabbi etc, and even worse in schools.

if your solution is to withdraw the kid from any place where there is likelihood of abuse then you may remove them from your families, schools, churches, nannies, etc maybe from all human contact.

I consider child abuse to be a despicable depravity that should always be condemned and the perpetuators brought to justice.

unfortunately it present in the Catholic Church and even Protestant churches in Christianity and other religions, even in schools and groups, it is not only a Catholic problem and we must all be committed to stopping it wherever it is found.

This is a scam...even the customs agent who helped me get my car from Cotonou in 2014 when the land borders were still open, confirmed to me on phone & even in his thread here on Nairaland that - there is nothing like Tincan papers for Cotonou vehicles now.
You can search for his moniker on Nairaland - @saintjoel or JELAD Ltd (his business name) - he is a very sincere & trustworthy customs agent unlike many here on Nairaland.
