TravelRe: Should I Invest In Nigeria Or Wait Until I Get A Permanent Stay In Abroad? by themaestro08(m): 3:34pm On Dec 14, 2020
optimusprime2:
Your friend has told you all you need to hear and all you need to know...
Because if you have said a home return is out of the question, then start giving yourself a stronger base over there, you can always get a land when you are properly situated...

I have a couple of questions for you;

1-How good is your German on a scale of 1-10?
2- would you like to stay long term in Germany?

I asked you those questions because if your answer to question(2) is yes, then you need to heavily and I mean "heavily" work on your German language skills, the moment you can rate yourself a 7 out of 10, you would not need IT skills/certifications to land your self a job in Germany... getting a job in Germany quickly, to a large extent depends on your German language skills. Infact once you have a German diploma and can speak German proficiently, you may not even need that extra 18 months, because you would most likely find a job before the expiration of your student Aufenthaltstitel.

Take note job hunting as a German diploma holder and German speaker, is not limited to Germany alone... Austria is well in the hoop too!
Great comment. In addition, plus Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

And can u say the same for other cities in the country
Its either New York or London...

If I'm right - the most racist place on earth as I heard is in the US (Anna to be precise). If UK, a nairalander once told me people refuse to sit beside him in a bus in Newcastle.

So my point is a city doesn't define a country and more to the point, there are nice and assholes anywhere in the world.

That's why many of these married people (including myself) have indirectly giving up on our dreams just to being able to give the future of our kids a little shape
I cry everyday because my dream is slipping away from me due to financial insufficiency
the bad economy has forced me to either choose my dream over my innocent kids or the kids over my life
As a good father, i choose them over my life

My advice to every single person out there is to shut the door of having children for now if you are not "extra" financial buoyant

Although it was not as bad as it is now when i had them
This is the case with most people who give birth to one or multiple kids - things were not as hard as it is when they had them. What does this tells you? That our economy is isn't really growing and that corruption and mismanagement has widen the income gap, plus insane inflation.

Things are not easy in this country. Not a pessimist but all I see for Nigerian is a bleak future.

No.

I already mapped out my plans for them.

They will be from 2 different babymama(s) so they can compete for supremacy between themselves to earn my admiration. However, I'm taking them through the digital world once they done with high school so, they can begin to earn like i currently earn online by themselves while in the university, And when they graduate -- they should be able to fend for themselves in the real world, still via the internet legitimately.
Same strategy, but not baby mama things

sweetmelanin:
Over the 60 year period of Nigeria's "independence", a handful of approx 8000 - 10000 ministers, senators, governors, presidents etc..(most of which are recycled into the position of power over and over again), have destroyed a highly promising nation, stolen our wealth and subjected 200+million citizens to poverty, frustration and lack.

These same individuals have then used stolen wealth to purchase citizenship of other nations for themselves and their families, thus leaving the masses to wallow in a state of hopelessness.

Hmmm.

P.S. This is why I warn people to stop listening to Phrankleen on Youtube... selling false hope that Nigeria is better than abroad. Our dear country is done for with no recovery in sight
You spoke well.... In addition to what you said, they also secured opportunities for their kids by sending them abroad to study in the US and Uk and aussi and Canada while shredding our education sector to pieces cry

EducationRe: Many Nigerian Graduates Can’t Read Or Write - Minister Of Education by themaestro08(m): 7:08am On Dec 12, 2020
kokkubabboni421:
In as much as I’d like to disagree, a large percentage of Nigerian graduates can’t read nor speak good English.
It’s a given English isn’t our language, but we were coerced to speak it hence we need it to communicate since we bare the tag “Graduates “
During my NYSC days in Ogun, you’d be surprised that a so called graduate cannot spell properly let alone speak correct English.

Most undergraduates are in school having little or no idea of what they’re doing.
It takes more than a degree to be called a graduate
That said, you can’t really blame them, the system is messed up, imagine our university in the supposed giant of Africa is on strike and students have little or no idea when it would be called off.. we need a total rebirth in Nigeria, because from the look of things, we are far from redemption
70% of the blame should go to the government.

TravelRe: Living In China, Life Lessons And Experiences by themaestro08(m):
Cutealexio:
As I was heading out this morning, something came on my mind. In Africa and Nigeria especially we don't usually do proper family planning and we don't really plan for the lives of our children. Most parents will only plan to get their Children educated then they can find a good job and start hustling for life on their own and the circle continues. I'll like to talk about how I prefer the Chinese way. As you all know most Chinese have just one or two kids, I have met some with four kids but not common. According to Chinese culture if your child is getting married you must buy a house for him or you give him/her a substantial money to get a mortgage. It's only the elite that does this in Nigeria but with proper family planning I think the middle class can also do this. I have met a lot of Chinese couple with one kid with a lot of properties registered on their names, this means the child is already a millionaire before 18, the parents would have started saving for their child immediately they gave birth to the child. You wonder why Chinese real estate is growing everyday and why poverty is declining daily?
Do you suggest we here in Nigeria imitate the Chinese newly embraced-culture of giving birth to one or at most two kids? Do you think it will have a profound effect in significantly curtailing the rapid rise of poverty currently plaguing Nigeria?

Thanks in advance as I await your response.

Which country on earth is not owing money? If you are in need of money, you simply borrow to repay when you have. If there's a budget deficit, the suffering most people are crying about right now would be child's play to what's going to come.

Nigeria's foundation is the problem we are facing not Buhari, I challenge anybody to go and become president with the present democracy that cannot jail criminals that are caught red handed (due to the constitution), payment of over 150 billion to NASS minus the jeeps and allowances, lack of funds for capital projects etc.

I can go on and on but let me stop here. Democracy isn't for Nigeria because our style if democracy is too expensive and no nation on Earth can develop with it.

Why do you think that UAE, Singapore, Canada etc could achieve rapid development within a short time? Simple answer, they don't practice expensive democracy that requires 250 special advisers on over 1 million naira salary with numerous allowances.
You know nothing, the Singaporean prime minister is among if not the highest earning leader in the world.

Besides, your first point is pointless - the average Nigerian for decades has struggle to distinguish if we run on a budget deficit or not. As the billions set aside for capital projects are either stolen or mismanage. angry
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s $1.5 Bn Budget Support Loan Request ‘Still In The Work' - World Bank by themaestro08(m): 1:18pm On Dec 11, 2020

The world bank should stop playing politics with this loan request and grant Nigeria. The govt of PMB has really utilized the loans borrowed so far, as a lot of infrastructural/capital development has been done over the years. E.G, the rail lines from Lagos/Ibadan, Kaduna/Abuja, Second Niger Bridge and a whole lots of federal roads.
The funds will be used to buy weapons for the fight against Insurgence and bandits. My advice to FG is that if the world bank refuses to lend them the Money they should get it from our Pensions contributed over the years.

Nope. It depends on the school. You know private schools have levels.

At least I know saints saviour teachers earn high. Had a colleague who did her IT there and she was earning 150k. And every Christmas they are entitled to one bag of rice, 1carton of turkey and 10 litre vegetable oil + your one month salary as bonus.

The head of their school Mrs Griffin's earns in dollars. A parent told me that.
Now imagine how much their full timers will be earning.

Ive not even talked about corrona, British international High school and Loyola.

These schools are better than some company jobs.

All these you suggested don't immediately lift people our of poverty.
I know it could be a waste of time explaining why you don't get It sir.

You will still, as a systemically-privileged city elite-educated Nigerian, think that efficient NEPA functioning well (sold at N56 per Kilowat/hr still priced out of reach of poor people) after elite-spending of almost $20B can lift the really poor out of poverty.

That is how most you think. You see their needs through your privileged prism.
Sir, poor people don't need NEPA or IKEDC to quickly escape the poverty trap.

Our fore fathers never worked for anybody true or false?, they worked for themselves and they are supported by their wives and children in their businesses.
So you don't know that people fly into other countries like Australia to earn a living, harvesting agricultural products and it's and annual thing?.
Just imagine that Nigerians all this while had improved on our fathers agricultural bussinesses, don't you think people will be flying into Nigeria to participate in planting and harvesting, and we won't be here discussing poverty alleviation?
Why are Nigerians fixated on white collar jobs, how many companies, did our fore fathers left behind?, the only thing they left behind is farming and we have fled from it.
What useless employment and underemployment are you talking about?, you better go and read about the history of Europe before they got to where they are today.
Why do you think their fathers had to go all over the world to kill, destroy and loot?.
The money that Eurozone and America is leveraging on today are all stolen money and have they stopped? the stealing continues through their proxies everywhere.
The earlier people understand the better, that few jobs are available and people needs to stand on their own.
You sound ignorant and uniformed (no apologies). No developed country ever relied on a single sector of it's economy for growth and stability. Diversification is key.

Agriculture in most developed countries doesn't even contribute much to their GDP, mostly 1 - 5% at most. Why do you think most economies are
increasingly going the service route?
