yeah, where I take fuel most times sell at 141/l. they would not be selling so if the pricing is not favouring them.
The government is in charge of the import via Nnpc. Once it gets into the country, the depots buys from them.
The effects of this massive but hidden subsidy will soon be manifest.

A lecturer in a dept at UNN have to seek employment at Akwa Ibom state university, because the UNN management refused making him a professor. The man is actually one of the best in that dept, with several publications to his credit. He was denied promotion because according to him, he is not an Igbo man. He is today in his state university as a professor.
This issue is widespread and not limited to the north alone.
I don't think it is entirely because he is not Igbo because a lecturer of Igbo extraction only became a Prof by offering his service to then newly established Ebonyi state university.

At Unec he remained a Dr.

Ultimately, it is the state and the North that stands to lose from the displacement of non Muslims from their teaching staff. Can't imagine any parent from the south sending their wards up north as far as Katsina state, for schooling.

That's is the bitter truth cos my spirit tells me u are not of God really
The government that bible of old time if you must know is what you are the same that has made you to assume a superiority position as to call others agents of the devil... the Bible was actually in stones, clay then scroll, while the and every known form of writing in every age.

Dont use your limited knowledge or understanding as a benchmark to judge others... E-bible allows you carry as many versions as you want in one bible app like my sword Bible.

The effectiveness of the word is not in the former you carry it but your depth in it for it your depth that determines your depth of manifestation... You can a bible that requires a truck to carry around and still be a plaything of the devil.

Oh I see! Implementation of TSA is now the reason behind the economic downturn.
Tsa is not for an economy in recession. The aggressive pursuit of tsa is an underlining factor worsening the slide to recession.

The government that introduced tsa picked phase implementation because the economy wasn't strong enough for such.. Obama had to give fund to the banks and manufacturing sectors during their meltdown and not the other way round as it happening in Nigeria.. Nigeria's money with commercial banks are not missing or stolen.. . We have documents trail to them.

Like I said before, why dont you just reason wisely without allowing your prejudice to block your judgement?... If a man loses his job today, would the hunger and kwashiokor appear immediately?... I'm sure you know these things but the prejudice you have against the government keeps getting on the way of your objectivity.

Talking about recession, are you not aware that as soon as oil prices began to crash, our growth rate began a steady decline?... That it got to the negative realm in 2016 does not mean the problem started in 2016. Make una try dey reason like educated people small abeg else you just make these arguments on this site very boring; I know you are not a kid and neither are you an illiterate.
Your type knows how to reason for all this while but refused to make use of it under the last government but resorted to insult.

Do you imagine the last government doesn't know what it was do get when it embarked on discriminatory implementation of tsa or you don't know that the needless aggressive pursuit of tsa is a major reason for the decline.

Our monies with commercial banks are not and weren't missing or stolen as they had documents on them otherwise, an order to return them to CBN would not have done it.

Business › Re: CBN Sanctions Nine Banks For Failing To Remit $2.3bn NNPC Funds by Themandator: 9:02am On Aug 24, 2016
fizzy4luv:
CBN; Nigerian banks can't do without Government fund , go to any Nigerian bank and tender an instrument withdrawing more than 100 million naira, you will see multitude of staff begging you not to take your own money . Its glaring that our banks are used to trading with these funds and have neglected the real sectors of the economy for so long. They declare huge profits and declare high dividends with little sweat . If an independent audit of all funds stashed in Nigerian Banks are conducted . CBN should have advised the Federal Government to have adopted a phased withdrawal of Government funds from the banking sector and not the bullet method used or even suspend it while the economy stabilize a bit while engaging reputable audit firms to examine public entities accounts to monitor funds.
Banks; I pity banks , they are now being forced directly to relate and engage the real sectors of the economy via lending to help stimulate growth, they just can't seem to let go of the cake and pudding way of making fast money, one shouldn't be too fast to blame them, a lot of recalcitrant bad debtors also make the Nigerian clime a difficult terrain for lending . Lately aggressive means of recovery have been embarked upon to recover bad debts.
Lastly CBN should find a lasting endearing solution , even if it means inviting all bank chiefs to discuss with the Executive arm of Govt, on how to navigate this turbulent times. unless when the banks start to fire from all angles , even FG won't be able to cope with the backlash of sacked workers
Your submission is on point... If any of those banks remit the amount mentioned against them I'm certain they will embark on another round of retrenchment and further tighten the noose on lending to oil importers

It unfortunate that most of you on Nairaland are just secondary school leaver or maybe majority of you
are still in the tertiary institution..
Some of you dont know whats right..

Anyways.. "THE PRESIDENT HAS PROPOSED AN EMERGENCY POWER BILL".
its a good development..
IT HAS ALOT OF BENEFIT If the gluttons and niccompu in the National Assembly will let it be..

Because the proposal WOULD HELP TO MOVE THE ECONOMY OUT OF RECESSION..

Lets put sentiment apart..Lets be sincere for once in this country..

The PRESIDENT needs to do those things. The President needs to move at d speed of light and He is willing to... The redundant element in NASS should let the President do the thing becos he has a lot to do.. The NASS is just a body there that slows all things down and No single benefit to the country..

Pls Nigerian Youths read well before you comment on anything..
Thank you
God bless Naija
Why do you support the approval.. it is not a thread for bashing the nass.... Is it the lack of emergency powers that is responsible for lack of articulate economic policy, what are they doing now that the power will jerk to life?
Everybody wants the country's growth and development including the nass members you are insulting.
Politics › Re: Emergency Powers Bill: LCCI, MAN, NLC, Others Back Buhari’s Proposals by Themandator: 12:15pm On Aug 23, 2016
Emergency powers? No. Most likely to be abused and used to confiscate people's companies with allegations of sabotaging the nation's bla bla.

Anything without specifics should not be entertained
Politics › Re: Economy: Buhari Not Seeking Emergency Powers- Presidency by Themandator: 12:09pm On Aug 23, 2016
I don't support any form of emergency power.. Whether for economy or security.. . Power corrupts and absolute power like in emergency corrupts absolutely.

If any impediment is noticed in the extant laws they should highlight forward same to the nass for amendment.

Please enough of the tribal bashing. I am mixed (Igbo & Yoruba )/and I am from the presently United states of Nigeria.
Practically My opinion (My Opinion.not anybody's opinion but mine)/is that it is a wrong investment( I am Igbo with a Yoruba mum)
The ExxonMobil Nigeria, Chevron , total, Agip and other bigger oil companies operating and making money in our soil and land do not even spend on such publicity.
Rich Africans and other not so rich countries rich people should stop transferring their wealth and their countries wealth to make vanity ego driven over priced expenditure in the developed World especially the United Kingdom. Pumping huge funds to the UK for ego related overpriced expenses...eg Football club adverts and endorsements in the UK, overpriced overexpensive london property which a lot of times is empty,Yes ...Nigerians watch premier league football but we already pay heavily for it through TV rights, and we don't need to see capital oil adverts in the premier league to know about or patronise capital oil.
Oil is not like electronics, clothes or gadgets that neef s advertising....to sell. It sell based on economic demand.....and foreign investors don't invest in a company based on the company's adverts, they invest based on value, profitability, utility and personal interest factors
I feel it is just an egoistic project for a Company that was not too long ago seized by Amcon for loan defaulting but its his money sha
