Funny how some Nigerians here are trying to play the racism card If it were a black that shot him, it would be fair right? Serves the idiot right, most of these black South Africans are very indolent and criminal-minded. |

Hadampson: To each his own. I don't care about NIGERIAN citizenship. If Germany should offer me their citizenship, i swear i would renounce Nigeria as my country
One thing am sure of is that once you are born in Nigeria, you are forever a Nigerian. Even if you renounce the country, you can still come to Nigeria and collect passport with no hassle That's true. |

Hadampson: Freedom of movement and work (easy access travel to other European destinations)
With German passport, you can travel to more countries
The limitless speed on the autobahn and the overall culture of Europe
Better economy ( Germany is the economic powerhouse of Europe and number 4 in the world)
School is relatively cheap. You don't have to pay anything apart from the money in the block account. They have very good record in education structure.
The weather and the accessibility to EU market plus Germany is massively industrialized which makes her have an edge over Canada
Germany is located in the centre of Europe. You can reach countless number of countries in a 2 hour flight.
Germany has research institutions than Canada and faculties in Germany are more well versed.
Lots of History, Architecture, ancient artifacts etc
All the same, it probably depends on who you are and what your values are. Both are among the best places in the world to live, and both share many qualities such as a commitment to liberal values, moderate fairly stable politics, etc.
If you are an immigrant, I would say Canada to be the better option. It is a county of immigrants and has large diverse immigrant populations. Germany is much more conservative when it comes to immigration, and pretty miserly when it comes to offering citizenship to non Germans. Germany's immigrant population is also much less diverse than Canada's.
Canada = Diversity Germany = Cultural exposure
### Canada is only better than Germany in terms of permanent residency they give people and also, Canada allow dual nationality, apart from that, i don't think Canada is better than Germany.]
#Shalom This is what we are after. I cannot lose my Nigerian citizenship at the same time I need a better citizenship |

chigo4u: Is the agent real and legit? I’ll like to have their contact Be careful of any agent! I don't know why you people contact agents when you can basically do everything with just your smartphone. Whether it's the information, you can visit the country's website to learn about their requisites. Whether it's scholarship info, you can check your school of interest's website. Whether it's application or whatever, you can do it yourself. Some (not all) of these agents are nothing but scammers and even though they are not, they just make sure they 'open office' ontop your head. It's their profit they're after not your satisfaction. kristlike: Hey bro. you only mention that there's high chance for science inclined base graduate to secure Canada visa than others. what about someone from Accounting and finance but has a high GMAT and high University grades? Yeah you will also be given grants but compared to someone in the STEM field, yours will be lesser. Have you checked? Most people getting scholarships abroad are from this field. What I'm saying in summary is that, you will have to merit it to get a scholarship meanwhile someone from the science field will easily get one without much stress. So yes! You can get a scholarship provided you blast your GRE /GMAT and have a good application. |

fineyemi: Tanks sir for your respond. Am in my finals in the university here in Nigeria. I do check for postgraduates scholarship news on scholarsguru.org. I see lot of scholarships from Sydney and other schools in Canada. I plan to apply into one once I have my result and try my luck. I have nothing to loose. And if provided I win a scholarship, Will getting a visa be easy here in Nigeria provided the scholarship is a fully funded type. First of all, I'm no sir I'm also a student like you. I wanna assure you that getting a visa won't be a problem provided you're accepted by the University, people who get denied probably had one or two issues which the Canadian embassy was not comfortable with. These are countries that are looking for young educated and skilled minds to come and contribute to their economy. Just get at least a 2.1, write GRE, blast it well, and you definitely get scholarships and grants from various schools you applied to, especially if you fall within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field. |

abnot: Spot on bro . I lived there for two years and was always wondering why people struggled to get jobs/sponsorship when they had better options somewhere else. I encouraged one of my Ghanaian friends to look towards Africa but he kept talking bout the importance of foreign work experience and all. He eventually returned to Ghana and got a position at the bank of Ghana ( central bank of Ghana) and built his first house before he clocked 30. Each time I go to Accra he reminds me of the tiny room in lived in while in U.K. and thanks God for where he is today. My other Rwandan friend jokingly told me how her colleagues were doing well in Kigali and how she couldn’t wait to go back to Rwanda. She got returned to work for the justice for Rwanda . Another Nigerian I know got a job as a consultant at the Ethiopian agricultural transformation agency earning descently well. Each time I go to U.K. I feel more and more convinced that I made the right decision to channel my effort towards securing a good job in Africa. Some people I know in USA came through the study option but they are struggling ( by American standard ) . Now Canada is a popular destination for Nigerians but again I also know people who secured residence permits via provincial nomination/express entry but had better jobs in Nigeria . Someone left a full time position at NCC to work for some small company in Saskatchewan and continues to convert his $CA65k gross salary to his annual package at NCC. Location doesn’t determine it all Well, about the case of people leaving a seemingly better job here in Nigeria and going to Canada, I wouldn't really blame them. It's the *quality of life* that really matters to them, securing that citizenship for them and their kids. It all boils down to one's choices. You made a great choice by leaving the UK, whereas someone else made a great choice by going abroad. Different strokes for different folks. |

EMMAACHILE: The problem with Canada/USA is getting the visa and not admission, TheManOfTheYear unlike countries like Sweden, Finland and Netherlands where you are almost sure of visa if you get admission. Who told you visa is hard to get in Canada? I might agree on the US because their visa process is mostly based on discretion of the Visa Officer during interviews at the embassy/consulate. But I've observed also that Canada do not conduct interviews, rather their visa process is strictly based on evaluation of one's application. If they see you're well qualified for the visa, which might include: Good test scores, a letter of acceptance from the said school, good financial records/scholarship backing. You will definitely get the visa |

abnot: I don’t think everyone goes to uni with the intention of working and settling in the country of study. And even if they had a favourable immigration policy I‘ don’t think U.K. is an attractive place to settle in. Spend your working years paying for a small house and small car with a couple thousand pounds in savings . Will rather get a good job in Nigeria or South Africa or Ghana than work in U.K. . And I believe some others will share a similar view God bless you for this comment. That's what I keep letting everyone to understand, the UK is not a favourable country to settle down in. They may have a top notch world class education but their immigration policy is very strict especially towards most of their former colonies. Coupled with the fact that it's very hard to make money in a country like the UK, you spend years paying for mortgage of an apartment that is not even bigger than an average gateman's house in naija. They will tax you down to the shìt in your toilet. Have you ever wondered why people in the UK are always stingy? Well, you have your answers. The pound sterling is one currency that you have to work through your nose to earn. The UK is a service-based economy, getting rich in a country like that is seemingly difficult. All they do is work and flex and pay tax, no room to save money. |

johnmattew: forget about canada.its the hardest to get nowadays.u need about 3.8million naira deposited in a German bank for accommodation and feeding..once I made the payment, visa is guaranteed. tuition is free Initially I didn't wanted to comment on this thread at least not until I saw your statement (bold above). It may interest you to know that Canada is the easiest and most beneficial country to turn to for education. Better than Germany or whatever country you're advertising. Which other country in the world will readily grant you a PERMANENT RESIDENCY after your graduation? Coupled with citizenship after 4 years. Every school in Canada are ready to give you partial or full scholarships provided they see the zeal in you to come over and study and stay behind to further contribute to their economy. See? You may have your own facts and figures but me and many other Nigerian students see clearly that Canada is our best bet and I will not fold my arms and watch you mislead others. @chigo4u @androidroot @fineyemi please duly take note. |
