. We rub the ‘Swab’ up-and-down the mouth to get some epithelial cells from around the cheek bone. In the nucleus of every cell, there is DNA. Once we collect that, we purify, extract and then multiply it and get the genetic profile which we then send to DNA laboratory abroad for testing. What happens in situations where DNA samples do not match as we saw with someDANA victims? So many reasons could be responsible for that. We have had a case in which a boy went to an hospital to claim the body of his deceased dad and on testing him, it was found that he was not fathered by the dead man. The genetic profile of the boy does not match with that of the man he claimed to be his father. And DNAs don’t lie. The medical experts conducting these tests have nothing personal against the people that come to them for testing. Every human being take half of the genetic profile from either parent. Therefore, it is a matter of case closed if the genetic profile of the living does not match with that of the dead man. He is simply not that father. Source: The Nation |
Is paternity testing becoming an issue in Nigeria? We have seen that there is serious need for it because in many homes things are happening that are scary both to the lives of children and their parents. And for the general statistics that is now available, it is found that three out of every ten men are not the fathers of their babies. Similarly, three out of every ten children are not fathered by men they have seen as their biological fathers. What we have found out is that, anytime we take ten men, at least three of them eventually found that they are not the fathers of the children they call their own. And these men would have taken care of the children for all their lives. Now, the global statistics is 100, 000 out of every 300, 000 men. But what we have found that is that the situation is higher in Nigeria than other places. For example in our laboratory here, 50 per cent of the cases comes out negative. And we also realised that majority of the first-borns are affected. You only need to be here to see big men cry like little kids and watch children weep in agony. It has been that bad. And I dare say it is becoming something every home must do and you may be quite surprised at the level of dastard revelation. About thirty per cent of fathers are unknowingly bringing up children who are not biologically theirs. And it is suspected that this percentage may be on the increase due to sexual recklessness. According to recent trends in sexual health, especially in Nigeria, it was suggested that unprotected sex and multiple partners are comparatively common occurrences with a large proportion of conceptions still unplanned. So, more than half, that is, 50 per cent of all paternity tests carried out by our lab comes out negative and the most affected are first-borns, except in a few cases. Do these cases happen mostly in matrimonial settings or in casual relationships? In both matrimony and casual affiliations! I tell you, we have had series of married men come here and go back home devastated. In one instance, a man came here with his wife. Out of the five children he thought were his own, he discovered that only two belonged to him. And they are both duly married, living together as husband and wife. You see, the major problem we have in our country is that most of these cases are not duly documented. So, people don’t know we have such issues among us. In fact, some even don’t know where to go for the test to determine their child or children’s paternity. And I tell you, if you go to ten homes as we speak, you will be amazed to find that in almost all of them the children there do not belong to the men. It is that rampant. If it is that rampant, how would you describe the three years since you started testing men? Now, the general statistics by the American Association of Blood Banks is that globally, 100, 000 out of 300, 000 men are not the actual fathers of their presumed children. And like I said earlier, the Nigerian situation is even alarming. Also, Duess International, the condom manufacturers, once noted that Nigeria has the most reckless sexual life. So, you can then imagine what the outcome would be like if we say okay, let’s start taking statistics one-by-one. How many families do you attend to each week? We test about 15 to 20 families. People come here as a result of various types of controversies over the paternity of certain children. You know, families have come to us with claims that a child neither takes after the mother nor the father in looks and character. So, the man of the house would be curious to ascertain facts. And when they come here with such children, the fears of the fathers have often been affirmed. Fathers usually have the doubts; maybe he has been hearing some rumours, and you know, men are often the last to hear such things about themselves. Until many of them come here to take the test, they have nurtured other men’s children before realising it. What does it take to do a paternity test? Technology has made it so easy. It is just like any other deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test. In less than two seconds, we take the sample from the man. We use the Helix Swabs like a “big cotton buds” to extract some cells from the man’s mouth. Continue...... |
truthislight: Thats because the muslim God cannot defend itself like the christian God, so, it followers must take actionY do you christians always sufferfrom amnesia? Need I remind you people fought for Yahwah and that didnt make any less powerfull. |
You are on your own. |
Frosbel, Don't you consider your recent vigorous effort at challenging widely accepted beliefs blasphemous? And when the Quran and muslims make similar observations about the gravity of such beliefs, you call it blasphemy. |
Pukkah: These are reasonable questions to ask but which unfortunately have never been clearly and unambiguously answered by anyone. I believe in spirituality but the type of questions (simple yet complex) you have there just muddle up religion. It's almost like the case of the more you look, the less you see.Just my thought, as for me today am a religionist tomorrow Am an atheist asking critical questions. Am not sure which path to take, every option (christian, muslim, atheism) seem to make equal sense to me. Every path seems to be the ultimate truth!!! Depending mostly on the enviroment I find myself. |
The fusing together of Hinduism and christianity is a pointer to the fact that both have polytheist features. The true religion, the monotheism of moses and our father abraham will never fuse in anyway with hinduism. |

Now the bible encourages us to lve our enemies and not to kill them. bible says we shouldnt call pple unbelivers like u pple call us. the bible never said we shdnt marry muslim women like ur quran prevents ur women from marrying us. so many differences and hatred are being taught in islam. as a human being, i cant relate with u well when ur holy book directs u to treat me as an enemy. the main cause of roaring against islam is the message it teaches. Just imagine the segregation being practised in islam. some of ur ladies keep telling me that aside frm religious differences, they see no reason why they cant marry a christian. |

Let me ask you: If I allow you marry my muslim sister , who is a dedicated muslim , what will be your greatest wish about her? Yes , converting her will be your priority. And as her husband you have considerable influence over her. Your first step will be to rid her off her Hijab; next I know she's dressed half unclad with her boobs Popping out for all to see(Jesus doent care bout our dress he only cares bout our hearts). Pray ,tell, Can you go out to a function with your wife dressed in an islamic attire . The bottom line is the pressure to convert will be too much. |

The doors leading out of scriptural literalism do not open from the inside. The moderation we see among nonfundamentalists is not some sign that faith itself has evolved; it is, rather, the product of the many hammer blows of modernity that have exposed certain tenets of faith to doubt. Not the least among these developments has been the emergence of our tendency to value evidence and to be convinced by a proposition to the degree that there is evidence for it. Even most fundamentalists live by the lights of reason in this regard; it is just that their minds seem to have been partitioned to accommodate the profligate truth claims of their faith. Tell a devout Christian that his wife is cheating on him, or that frozen yogurt can make a man invisible, and he is likely to require as much evidence as anyone else, and to be persuaded only to the extent that you give it. Tell him that the book he keeps by his bed was written by an invisible deity who will punish him with fire for eternity if he fails to accept its every incredible claim about the universe, and he seems to require no evidence whatsoever. Religious moderation springs from the fact that even the least educated person among us simply knows more about certain matters than anyone did two thousand years ago—and much of this knowledge is incompatible with scripture. Having heard something about the medical discoveries of the last hundred years, most of us no longer equate disease processes with sin or demonic possession. Having learned about the known distances between objects in our universe, most of us (about half of us, actually) find the idea that the whole works was created six thousand years ago (with light from distant stars already in transit toward the earth) impossible to take seriously. Such concessions to modernity do not in the least suggest that faith is compatible with reason, or that our religious traditions are in principle open to new learning: it is just that the utility of ignoring (or “reinterpreting”) certain articles of faith is now overwhelming. Anyone being flown to a distant city for heart-bypass surgery has conceded, tacitly at least, that we have learned a few things about physics, geography, engineering, and medicine since the time of Moses. So it is not that these texts have maintained their integrity over time (they haven’t); it is just that they have been effectively edited by our neglect of certain of their passages. Most of what remains—the “good parts”— has been spared the same winnowing because we do not yet have a truly modern understanding of our ethical intuitions and our capacity for spiritual experience. If we better understood the workings of the human brain, we would undoubtedly discover lawful connections between our states of consciousness, our modes of conduct, and the various ways we use our attention. What makes one person happier than another? Why is love more conducive to happiness than hate? Why do we generally prefer beauty to ugliness and order to chaos? Why does it feel so good to smile and laugh, and why do these shared experiences generally bring people closer together? Is the ego an illusion, and, if so, what implications does this have for human life? Is there life after death? These are ultimately questions for a mature science of the mind. If we ever develop such a science, most of our religious texts will be no more useful to mystics than they now are to astronomers. |
The Myth of “Moderation” in Religion The idea that any one of our religions represents the infallible word of the One True God requires an encyclopedic ignorance of history, mythology, and art even to be entertained—as the beliefs, rituals, and iconography of each of our religions attest to centuries of crosspollination among them. Whatever their imagined source, the doctrines of modern religions are no more tenable than those which, for lack of adherents, were cast upon the scrap heap of mythology millennia ago; for there is no more evidence to justify a belief in the literal existence of Yahweh and Satan than there was to keep Zeus perched upon his mountain throne or Poseidon churning the seas. According to Gallup, 35 percent of Americans believe that the Bible is the literal and inerrant word of the Creator of the universe. Another 48 percent believe that it is the “inspired” word of the same—still inerrant, though certain of its passages must be interpreted symbolically before their truth can be brought to light. Only 17 percent of us remain to doubt that a personal God, in his infinite wisdom, is likely to have authored this text—or, for that matter, to have created the earth with its 250,000 species of beetles. Some 46 percent of Americans take a literalist view of creation (40 percent believe that God has guided creation over the course of millions of years). This means that 120 million of us place the big bang 2,500 years after the Babylonians and Sumerians learned to brew beer. If our polls are to be trusted, nearly 230 million Americans believe that a book showing neither unity of style nor internal consistency was authored by an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent deity. A survey of Hindus, Muslims, and Jews around the world would surely yield similar results, revealing that we, as a species, have grown almost perfectly intoxicated by our myths. How is it that, in this one area of our lives, we have convinced ourselves that our beliefs about the world can float entirely free of reason and evidence? It is with respect to this rather surprising cognitive scenery that we must decide what it means to be a religious “moderate” in the twenty-first century. Moderates in every faith are obliged to loosely interpret (or simply ignore) much of their canons in the interests of living in the modern world. No doubt an obscure truth of economics is at work here: societies appear to become considerably less productive whenever large numbers of people stop making widgets and begin killing their customers and creditors for heresy. The first thing to observe about the moderate’s retreat from scriptural literalism is that it draws its inspiration not from scripture but from cultural developments that have rendered many of God’s utterances difficult to accept as written. In America, religious moderation is further enforced by the fact that most Christians and Jews do not read the Bible in its entirety and consequently have no idea just how vigorously the God of Abraham wants heresy expunged. One look at the book of Deuteronomy reveals that he has something very specific in mind should your son or daughter return from yoga class advocating the worship of Krishna: If your brother, the son of your father or of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the spouse whom you embrace, or your most intimate friend, tries to secretly seduce you, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” unknown to you or your ancestors before you, gods of the peoples surrounding you, whether near you or far away, anywhere throughout the world, you must not consent, you must not listen to him; you must show him no pity, you must not spare him or conceal his guilt. No, you must kill him, your hand must strike the first blow in putting him to death and the hands of the rest of the people following. You must stone him to death, since he has tried to divert you from Yahweh your God. . . .(Deuteronomy 13:7-11) While the stoning of children for heresy has fallen out of fashion in our country, you will not hear a moderate Christian or Jew arguing for a “symbolic” reading of passages of this sort. (In fact, one seems to be explicitly blocked by God himself in Deuteronomy 13:1—“Whatever I am now commanding you, you must keep and observe, adding nothing to it, taking nothing away.”) The above passage is as canonical as any in the Bible, and it is only by ignoring such barbarisms that the Good Book can be reconciled with life in the modern world. This is a problem for “moderation” in religion: it has nothing underwriting it other than the unacknowledged neglect of the letter of the divine law. The only reason anyone is “moderate” in matters of faith these days is that he has assimilated some of the fruits of the last two thousand years of human thought (democratic politics, scientific advancement on every front, concern for human rights, an end to cultural and geographic isolation, etc.). |
WINNER OF THE 2005 PEN AWARD FOR NONFICTION From W.W. Norton: This important and timely book delivers a startling analysis of the clash of faith and reason in the modern world. The End of Faith provides a harrowing glimpse of mankind’s willingness to suspend reason in favor of religious beliefs, even when these beliefs inspire the worst of human atrocities. Harris argues that in the presence of weapons of mass destruction, we can no longer expect to survive our religious differences indefinitely. Most controversially, he maintains that "moderation" in religion poses considerable dangers of its own: as the accommodation we have made to religious faith in our society now blinds us to the role that faith plays in perpetuating human conflict. While warning against the encroachment of organized religion into world politics, Harris draws on insights from neuroscience, philosophy, and Eastern mysticism in an attempt to provide a truly modern foundation for our ethics and our search for spiritual experience.

Such a FUSS over a silly anti-Islam movie! As I type these words, riots have erupted all across the middle east. Protesters attacked the US Consulate in Benghazi and killed the US Ambassador. In Cairo, protesters have surrounded the US Embassy and chant for the Americans to get out. In Iraq, Yemen, and a dozen other nations, the same is happening. The consistent theme in all these protests is that America must leave. The US corporate media tells a different tale. According to ABCNNBBCBSFOX, all this anger is over a silly little movie bashing Mohammed. The film, produced by An Israeli with Jewish donors a Coptic Christian (to get Israel off of the hook) a CIA/Mossad asset who the heck knows, was intentionally created to be as offensive as possible to Muslims. The fact that it was a contrived piece of propaganda from the start is obvious. The entire cast and crew has gone public saying they were duped into making the film, with its offensive content added in during post production. In Hollywood, the normal behavior is to have ones name on everything one works on. That this film's producer worked so hard to keep himself hidden betrays the propaganda agenda. But the American corporate media is trying to sell a message that all Muslims hate Americans without a good reason; that the riots are solely over this film, and since those eeeeeeviilllllll mooooooslims don't respect the First Amendment right to free speech, real patriotic Americans should believe that the Muslims have over-reacted. But the rage seen across the mideast has very little to do with the film. They don't hate us for our freedoms, or for our religion. Those people in the nations invaded and subverted by the United States through a decade of overt and covert wars on behalf of Israel hate America because every time they see their friends and neighbors blown to bloody bits before their eyes, the shrapnel is stamped, "Made in the USA." Do the citizens of those invaded nations have reason to hate America, other than that silly little film? Well, yes, they do. Image Image Image Image Image Image So, you think all that anger and rage is just because of a provocative movie? If what you see above was being done to your family and friends, how would you feel? That is how they feel. Their countries have been invaded on the basis of lies, their government subverted to serve foreign interests, their women and children killed, their places of worship bombed, their cultural history buried under rubble. So why the big lie on American TV that this is all about a movie? To obscure the reality of what these invaded people have suffered at the hands of America by trivialities their rage. To demonize the Muslims by making their anger seem entirely out of proportion and unreasonable. To ignite a wider war. In the months before 9-11, there was a sudden surge of embassy attacks, all blamed on Osama Bin Laden. Those embassy attacks were the "warm up", a pre-sell of the idea that America was under threat from "Radical Islam" to prepare them mentally to believe the official story when 9-11 itself finally happened. And I greatly fear we may be seeing a repeat of this tactic. For months, Netanyahu has been pushing for the United States to commit to as war with Iran, before Israel's elections in October. President Obama, knowing that Americans are weary of wars on Israel's enemies, wants to wait until after the November elections in the US. That Netanyahu cannot do, as absent a war to wave at the Israeli voters, the Likud party may well lose to the Kadima party, which means a pink slip for Netanyahu. Netanyahu is in a corner, and desperate. His only remaining option is a new false-flag attack to be blamed on Iran, something spectacular enough to "motivate" the American people to throw their children onto the Iranian bayonets, something that will trick Americans into supporting Obama when he joins Israel's attack on Iran. Lastly, a spectacular false-flag attack, blamed on Iran, would undermine the Russian and Chinese commitments to defend Iran if Israel and the US attacks. If it is all "Iran's fault" in the eyes of their citizens, Russia and China may have to back down. False-flag attacks are nothing new. The Lavon Affair was a classic example. So was the attack on the USS Liberty. So was 9-11. So what is Netanyahu considering? Obviously if it involves a nuclear weapon, Netanyahu can say that it proves he was right all along that Iran is a dangerous nuclear threat. Where will that nuke be detonated? Opinions vary, from the Golden Gate bridge to the aging and about-to-be- retired USS Enterprise. But given that Israel obtained their first weapons-grade fissionables here in the United States, the possability that they already have a bomb inside our borders cannot be ruled out. But of one thing I am certain. This current provocation of anger across the Middle East could well be the warm up to Israel's final push to trick the stupid Muslims and stupid Christians into killing each other off. Please, don't be stupid.

hardbody: I have tons of these brain wrackers in a compendium of Logic texts, although it is in soft copy. Any interested NLander can send an email and I will send a copy to them. Although I must confess I never read beyond the first few pages. Fortunately I am gainfully employed and so would not b needing those question and answer sessions. Before I forget, Accenture embarrassed me with one of those questions way back in time, I felt very stupid when I got home and realized I goofed.Pls send a copy to hrsuperfine@gmail.com .thanks |

O.K he said "IF IT IS POSSIBLE...." . Tell me what is impossible before God. This condition doesnt rule out the fact that Jesus wasnt willing to die and showed his preference for a better alternative. If God could relief Abraham of the burden of killing isaac why cant He wave his magic wand and forgive Humans instead killing an unwilling Jesus who already was sweating blood. |
I know this because Jesus Christ made the prayer and the bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ is the Son of God manifest on earth. God always hears His prayer. . . . .so much so that our prayers are only valid if they come with the signature of Christ. Jesus talking to the Father:[i] “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. [b]And I know that You always hear Me
Now if u claim Gods always answers Jesus, and he will not make a wish or prayer that God will not anwser, I WILL REMIND YOU OF THE PRAYER JESUS MADE ON THE NIGHT BEFORE THE EVENT , THAT "LET THIS CUP PASS OVER ME". AS IF TO TELL THE WORLD OF HOW GOD REFUSED TO ANSWER HIS PRAYER ,IT IS CLAIMED THAT HE CREID ON THE CROSS "WHY HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME". |

If not for this mysterious doctrine of God the Majestic coming to earth to Die on a cross, a lot of muslims today wud be christians.. God is not the author of confusion and wouldnt make the most important Foundation of his Path or Religion a Mystery to the very People he wants to save. The ages old doctrine has always been, Believe in the One God creator and follow his messangers as simple as that without need for mystery. |
