Politics / FG Determined To Begin Implementation Of New Passport Policy by TheRareGem1(f): 3:30pm On Feb 07 |
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has reiterated the ministry’s determination to begin the full implementation of the new passport policy for the benefit of Nigerians at home and abroad. Tunji-Ojo disclosed this at the 2024 Diaspora Quarterly Virtual-lecture series titled: New Passport Policy/Processes for Nigerians in Diaspora” organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) on Tuesday in Abuja. The minister said the ministry was ready to automate passport enrollment via streamlined and efficient processes, adding that the automated passport application process for those in the diaspora is scheduled to begin on March 8, 2024 This, according to him, will begin at four missions, namely: Italy in Europe, Canada in the Americas, South Africa in Africa, and Malaysia in Asia. “Following a month of refining any glitches, we aim to deploy globally by April 8, 2024,” he added. “The ministry has taken bold steps toward the launch of a new passport policy for Nigerians at home and abroad. “This is to decongest existing centres by establishing dedicated passport processing and collection centres in the diaspora and fast-tracking service operations both domestically and internationally, and reducing processing delays in Europe through the enhanced e-passport. “A dedicated team from the ministry has been deployed to the UK to oversee the implementation of the E8-Mandate, emphasising our commitment to delivering tangible results. “We are rolling out enhanced e-passport facilities at selected Nigerian embassies in Europe, thereby positioning Nigeria as a leader in technological innovation within the African continent. “This enhanced e-passport, compliant with all International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards, ensures international recognition and security “It offers Nigerians in the diaspora greater convenience with online application and payment platforms, reduced processing times, and enhanced security features, allowing for travel with peace of mind.” The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has reiterated the ministry’s determination to begin the full implementation of the new passport policy for the benefit of Nigerians at home and abroad. In line with our March deadline, we are diligently working towards establishing a modern control center across all our international airports, including Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Enugu.” The Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Dr Abike Dabiri-Erewa, commended the minister for the success so far recorded withun a very short period particularly in the area of passport regime. “One of the biggest issues is related to the issue of passport. All the time we’ve been bombarded with questions on the issue of passports, and the minister came on board and said the process would be fully-digital. “So, this is a platform to have the Minister of Interior and Mrs Caroline Adepoju, Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service to explain what the process means,” she said. The guest speaker, Mrs Adepoju said the e-passport regime policy would make application processes modern, ensure effectiveness, and efficiency, as well as improve NIS service delivery. Politics / Insecurity: It’s Time For State Police – Osinbajo’s Ex-spokesman Tells Tinubu by TheRareGem1(f): 6:57am On Feb 04 |
Laolu Akande, a former spokesman to ex-Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has urged President Bola Tinubu, state governors, and National Assembly members to establish state police in the face of the prevailing insecurity in the country. Akande said the current centralized security structure was inadequate to resolve the insecurity situation in the country. Speaking on Channels TV’s “Inside Sources,” on Friday, Akande said: “The time has come to give that authority and power. Now, this has to be done properly and that is why we are calling for a proper constitutional amendment that will define how this will not be abused. “It is also important for all the stakeholders to come together and ensure proper rules of engagement. The time for state police is now. We are calling on the President. “We are calling on the governors, the members of the National Assembly and the State Assemblies to set the ball rolling and we are also calling on the traditional rulers, religious leaders and all leaders of thought to come behind this idea of state police.” https://dailypost.ng/2024/02/03/insecurity-its-time-for-state-police-osinbajos-ex-spokesman-tells-tinubu-govs/ |

Politics / EFCC Recovers N30bn From Humanitarian Ministry’s Looted Funds by TheRareGem1(f): 5:09am On Feb 04 |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered over N30bn from the N37,170, 855,753.44 allegedly laundered in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs under the former minister, Sadiya Umar-Farouk. Sources in the anti-graft agency, who spoke with our correspondent on Friday, said the commission had also uncovered over N500m from the scam associated with Umar-Farouk’s successor, Betta Edu, who was recently suspended by President Bola Tinubu. Saturday PUNCH had in December reported that N37,170,855,753.44 was transferred from government coffers and sent to 38 different bank accounts domiciled in five legacy commercial banks belonging to or connected with a contractor, James Okwete. It was gathered on Friday that N30bn was recovered by the EFCC following the placement of a lien on the bank accounts of Umar-Farouq and Okwete, who are still being grilled by the anti-graft agency’s investigators The agency is also still grilling Edu in connection with an alleged N17bn fraud, while the suspended Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme, Halima Shehu, is also still being questioned over an alleged N44bn fraud. An EFCC source revealed, “The commission has now recovered over N30bn from the laundered N37.1bn that was linked to former minister Sadiya Umar-Farouq. We were able to recover the money after we placed liens on the bank accounts of the former minister and the contractor, Mr Okwete, who was linked to the fraud under probe. Both the minister and the contractor are still being grilled by our investigators daily.” A senior EFCC investigator added, “We have uncovered another N17bn money laundering from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and for the alleged fraud linked to the suspended minister, Betta Edu, we have so far recovered over N500m. Edu is still answering questions about the fraud. The NSIPA coordinator, Halima Shehu, is still being grilled over the N44bn fraud linked to her at the NSIPA; our investigators aren’t leaving any stone unturned.” When contacted for comments on the development, the spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale declined comments. In another development, the EFCC said it recovered a total of N70,556,658,370.5 between October 2023 and January 19, 2024. Details of the recovery were outlined in an EFCC document titled, ‘Operations and Recoveries’, which was exclusively obtained by our correspondent. The document revealed that in the period under review, the EFCC recovered N60,969,047,634.25, $10,522,778.57, £150,002.10 and €4,119.90, making a total of N70,556,658,370.5. It added that the EFCC received a total of 3,325 petitions, accepted 2,657 of the petitions, and secured the conviction of 747 persons for financial crimes ranging from money laundering to Internet fraud in the same period. A breakdown of the data shows that the EFCC headquarters alone recovered N49,607,391,330.44, $3,900,200.75, £2,000, and £110. The Maiduguri Zonal Command recovered N58,065,870 and $3,370; the Gombe Command recovered N127,323,028.50 and $1,500; while the Kano Command recovered N141,944,451 and $365. The Makurdi Command recovered N53,228, 325; Enugu Command, N202,117,000; and $1,950; Uyo Command, N25,299,950 and $710; and Port Harcourt Command, N2,412,247,210.05 and $5,714,389.21 The Sokoto Command recovered the sum of N100,696,118.72; Kaduna Command, N331,494,710.81, $912, £50, and €1,610; Ilorin Command, N80,280,580.86 and $880; Abuja Zonal Command, N825,928,463 and $10,000; and Ibadan Zonal Command, N135,519,810, $14517, £280, and €500. Within the same period, the agency said it secured the conviction of 747 persons for offences ranging from money laundering to cybercrimes. However, the Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, at a dialogue in Abuja on Wednesday, revealed that most of the 747 convictions involved persons who were prosecuted for cybercrime offences. Meanwhile, the commission has said that it has deepened its probe into money laundering cases involving some high-profile public officials, especially former governors and ministers indicted for fraud The total amount involved in the money laundering cases rose to around N130.1bn as of January 31, 2024. Details of the development were contained in an EFCC document titled, ‘100 Days in Office’, detailing ongoing probes, discoveries, and recoveries made by the commission under Olukoyede. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/efcc-recovers-n30bn-from-humanitarian-ministrys-looted-funds/%3famp Cc mynd44 lalasticlala seun 1 Like |
Politics / TODAY IN HISTORY: How Osinbajo Almost Lost His Life On This Day In 2019 by TheRareGem1(f): 12:02pm On Feb 02 |
Typically, in this part of the world, church services or a special jumat would be organised to commemorate surviving such an ordeal. We do not know if the former vice-president is holding a special thanksgiving today, but this is the true story of the accident he survived based on a final report by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB). On February 2, 2019, Yemi Osinbajo, the then vice-president, was on the campaign trail and was embarking on a trip to Kabba, a community in the west of Kogi state, to canvass support for President Muhammadu Buhari and himself. The duo, who were on a joint ticket, were crisscrossing the country to make the case for a second and final term in office. On that fateful day, Osinbajo boarded an AgustaWestland helicopter with registration number 5N-CML, and operated by Caverton Helicopters Limited. The chopper departed Runway 22 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 1:46 pm. The take-off was a smooth one and the weather was clement. Soon, the chopper would cruise to an altitude of 5,000 feet above sea level. There were 11 persons onboard the chopper besides the then vice-president The pilot was 34 years of age, and the co-pilot was 22. They had several flying hours between them and were no spring chickens on the job. The pilot had amassed more than 4,000 hours in the air at the time, according to the AIB. At 2:20 pm — some 30 minutes into the flight — the chopper’s systems alerted the crew that the Multi-Purpose Flight Recorder (MPFR) had failed. The MPFR works as the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder for the chopper type. This prompted the pilots to quickly complete a checklist from Caverton’s Quick Reference Handbook (QRH). They learned from their handbook that the malfunction was not an emergency and so the flight continued apace. According to the flight plan, the chopper was meant to take Osinbajo and his party to Kabba, Okene, and then back to the federal capital territory (FCT). Before the vice-president and his team departed Abuja, an advance team had landed in a helicopter with registration number 5N-PEG, and operated by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). Both choppers were in constant communication and on the same page during the trip. The advance team had relayed information of their landing experience in Kabba to the team flying the number two citizen. Shortly afterwards, and upon descent, the pilots of Osinbajo’s helicopter dubbed NGR002 confirmed that they had seen the dust whirling from the advance police chopper above the landing area — which was a field in a school. Shortly afterwards, and upon descent, the pilots of Osinbajo’s helicopter dubbed NGR002 confirmed that they had seen the dust whirling from the advance police chopper above the landing area — which was a field in a school. Advertisement The crew agreed on a landing spot and the monitoring pilot began to reel out the altitude as they commenced their descent into the field. The younger pilot called out “35”, “30”, “25”, “20” and at “15”, the crew lost situational awareness because of a “brownout” — a term that means low visibility caused by sand or dust in the air due to the rotation of the helicopter’s rotors. Few seconds after the altitude “15” callout, the chopper hit the ground hard on its right landing gear, before tilting on its side like an aircraft made of paper that has been thrown into the air without any aerodynamics. The time was 02:34 pm. The crew immediately shut off the fuel, batteries, and generator of the chopper that had now been completely destroyed. Fortunately, everyone survived the ordeal, unharmed. FINDINGS In the course of the investigation, it was discovered that an inappropriate landing technique was used. The crew did not adhere to its company procedure for known or anticipated brownout, and there was no assessment of the landing site prior to the flight. The Caverton operation manual provides that in a known or anticipated brownout situation for landing, the crew could “make a no hover landing, reducing to zero ground speed exactly at the point of landing, or make a running landing, but only if the surface is known to be level and firm. The pilot should seek a small object on the ground that he can land near so that it can be a good visual reference throughout the landing”. Although the Presidential Air Force (PAF) is responsible for the flights of the president and vice-president, the AIB said PAF informed it that the protocol office of Osinbajo did not involve it in the flight arrangements. “Nevertheless, it could be discussed whether the PAF should coordinate the preparation of VIP flights in accordance with the PAF’s requirements and standards,” the report reads. “Such preparation may include site assessment; possibly advance flights and select a suitable landing area for planned VIP flights. “Thus, the flight crew of the charter company could then be briefed appropriately. Such oversight would have eliminated some of the risk factors that were believed to have contributed to the accident.” Thereafter, the AIB issued safety recommendations, one of which included that all helicopter operators carry out risk assessments before dispatching helicopters for operations. https://www.thecable.ng/rewind-how-osinbajo-almost-lost-his-life-in-a-helicopter-crash-in-2019/amp Cc mynd44 lalasticlala seun |

Politics / EFCC Goes After Church For Receiving N7bn Fraud Proceeds by TheRareGem1(f): 9:05am On Feb 01 |
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has revealed that the anti-graft agency traced the sum of N7bn, suspected to be proceeds of money laundering, to a religious organisation. He said another religious group was found to be laundering money for terrorists. The EFCC chairman made the revelation on Wednesday at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, during a one-day dialogue on “Youth, Religion, and the Fight against Corruption.” He said some of the religious organisations, institutions, sects, and bodies in the country had been found to be aiding and abetting fraudsters and terrorists. Olukoyede stated that the EFCC discovered the laundered N7bn in the bank account of a religious organisation in the course of investigating a N13bn fraud. Though he did not reveal the identity of the religious organisation, a source in the anti-agency privy to the case told our correspodent that it was a church. The EFCC chairman vowed that the anti-graft agency would recover the money through the court. Olukoyede said, “We were investigating a N13bn money laundering case when we discovered that N7bn of the N13bn was linked to a religious organisation’s bank account When we approached the religious organisation about it and we were carrying out our investigation, we got a restraining order stopping us from carrying out our investigation.” Olukoyede, however, said the EFCC would not give up on the investigation as the restraining court order had been appealed. Meanwhile, the EFCC chairman said the anti-graft agency also uncovered another unnamed religious body laundering money for a terrorist organisation. “No one will be spared, we’ll probe everyone who is suspected to be committing financial crimes, and these includes members of the executive, legislative, and judiciary arms of government,” Olukoyede added. He said since his assumption of office as the EFCC chairman about three months ago, the anti-graft agency had secured 747 convictions, mostly cybercrime. He said the one–day event, tagged “Youth, Religion and the Fight Against Corruption,” was aimed at addressing the challenges of youth involvement in cybercrimes and how religion could be used as a weapon for their reorientation. Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the event, spoke extensively about the need to curb corruption in government and among the young people. Other dignitaries present at the dialogue were the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), a former Minister of Power, Babatunde Fashola, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, the President, Christian Association of Nigeria,Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the Chairperson, Nigeria Committee of Vice Chancellors, Prof. Lilian Salami, and the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede https://punchng.com/efcc-goes-after-church-for-receiving-n7bn-fraud-proceeds/?amp |

Politics / Over 30,000 Passport Applicants Successful, Says Immigration Comptroller General by TheRareGem1(f): 2:48pm On Jan 23 |
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (CGI), Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, has disclosed that about 32,462 persons have successfully applied for passports since the inception of the full automation system of application. The automated regime was flagged off on January 8, 2024, by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, launched the automated passport application process to expedite passport acquisition for Nigerians. The process includes: uploading passport photos and supporting documents. Adepoju while inspecting facilities of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Monday, announced that the NIS has successfully received 32, 462 applicants with the new automated system while 1,438 applications have been queried for various reasons. She said: “I have here the data of the passport applications that have been successfully processed since the introduction of the new process from 8th January 2024. About 32, 462 persons have successfully applied to upload their documents and make payments. “Of this number, 16,113 applications have been approved for biometric capture and production, 11,505 applicants await approval, while 3,400 applicants have made the payment but have yet to book an appointment, these people did not complete the process, they should go back and complete the process, while 1,438 applications have been queried for various reasons, possibly the applicants did not upload their documents properly which is one of the major problems at the moment We are going to help Nigerians achieve this process that has come to stay. We will send back the application, all they need to do is to complete it and pay adequate attention to the instructions, and submit it again for approval. Adepoju urged Nigerians to cooperate with the Nigeria Immigration Service to eradicate difficulties associated with passport processing in the country and the minister ensured every process was done perfectly She added: “We are determined to ensure we eradicate difficulties that are associated with passport processing in Nigeria. As a matter of fact, this process is not entirely new, the only thing that we have introduced is uploading of supporting documents which we believe in due time, everything will be perfected. All we want Nigerians to do is to be patient and pay adequate attention to the instructions given online during the process.” “We want to assure you that the process is simple once it is followed as specified. It will be discovered that it is a much easier process to save time and cost for applicants. We are working hard to perfect it so that the processing can be smooth and steady for every Nigerian. We are ensuring that we are going to surmount every challenge in the new passport automation process that has come to stay in Nigeria, it will enable Nigerian applicants at home and abroad to find passport processing easier and more seamless. “I want to use this opportunity to plead with Nigerians to please bear with us. What we had discovered recently from our system is that applicants have not mastered the act of uploading valid documents at the appropriate channels as specified. There is a need to pay enough attention to the process. For example, we discovered that some applicants uploaded their birth certificate in the category of NIN number, in another category where applicants were supposed to upload passport photography, and some uploaded photography where their chin or head was not properly shown, so when applicants understand the basic things of the process, it will be seamless and that is the only hitch in the whole process for now but we will continue to enlighten the public, we will also continue to ensure the best for every Nigerians by assisting at the appropriate time.” She also announced that the immigration service is working tirelessly to end the era of storing applicant passports in store for collection, stressing that the immigration service is working with some service providers to ensure passports that are produced will be sent to applicants’ mailing addresses. https://thenationonlineng.net/over-30000-passport-applicants-successful-says-immigration-comptroller-general/ 2 Likes |

Adesina: Buhari not a bigot, he mentioned Jesus when Osinbajo survived helicopter crash Femi Adesina, ex-media aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, says his principal called the name ‘Jesus’ when Yemi Osinbajo survived a helicopter crash. In February 2019, a helicopter conveying the former vice-president from Abuja to Kabba in Kogi state crash-landed. In his book titled: ‘Working with Buhari: Reflections of A Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023)’, Adesina said the former president, while congratulating Osinbajo for surviving the crash, said to him: “Jesus was not far away, he saved you”. The former presidential spokesperson said Buhari is far from the bigot most perceive him to be. "Bigot? I hear,” Adesina wrote in his book. “Our first Christmas in government. December 2015. I wanted to spend the season in Lagos. And I asked him for permission. “By all means, he answered. I know the Vice President, yourself, and some others are church people. Please go. Spend Christmas and New Year with your families When you now come back, me too I will go for a few days. And he laughed. “Bigot? They never want to hear of Christmas. Since 2015, he would give all Christians working with him time off every Easter and Christmas. I like that kind of bigotry. “When the Foursquare Gospel Church turned 60 years in Nigeria. I told the President, and he gladly agreed to meet with the leadership. He did. Bigot? Please tell me another story. “The Vice President survived an helicopter crash in 2019. The President publicly rejoiced with him, and then at the next Federal Executive Council meeting, he congratulated the VP again. “Jocularly, he said: ‘I can imagine that when the chopper crashed with a bang, VP as a pastor must have shouted, Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! And fortunately, Jesus was not far away, so He saved him’. “We all laughed. But one instructive lesson. Bigots don’t like Jesus. They never want to hear His name, or attribute anything miraculous to Him. “Buhari, a bigot? I beg, comot for road, make I pass. It is said that as a military commander, he gave opportunity for Muslim soldiers to observe the jumat on Fridays, and Christian soldiers were allowed to go to church on Sundays. “A bigot would allow Muslims and pretend that Christians didn’t exist.” Jocularly, he said: ‘I can imagine that when the chopper crashed with a bang, VP as a pastor must have shouted, Jesus! Politics / Open Letter To President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by TheRareGem1(f): 6:55am On Jan 16 |
Dear Mr. President, As a matter of concern, our attention has been drawn to a systematic effort by a group known as the "passport cabal” who hitherto allegedly exploited the nation’s passport processes. In the last week, they have launched coordinated attacks on the credibility of Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. This orchestrated campaign not only poses a threat to the positive image of your administration but also challenges the vision of the #RenewedHope Agenda. Reliable sources have disclosed that various entities, including groups, blogs, and influencers, are allegedly receiving financial incentives to besmirch the reputation of Minister Tunji-Ojo, particularly in light of recent allegations involving the Humanitarian Ministry. As vigilant Nigerians and proponents of progressive governance, we earnestly implore you to take resolute action to shield Minister Tunji-Ojo from these calculated attacks. The success of this orchestrated effort could potentially undermine the commendable work your administration has undertaken. Hon. Tunji-Ojo's laudable initiatives in tackling the challenges within passport application and collection processes, as well as broader reforms within the Ministry of Interior and the agencies under her, should be allowed to proceed unhindered. Preserving the integrity of the administration is of paramount importance, and your swift intervention in this matter would not only safeguard Minister Tunji-Ojo but also contribute significantly to sustaining the positive momentum of the #RenewedHope Agenda. 2 Likes 2 Shares

Politics / Olubunmi Tunji-ojo And The Passport Cabal: Final Round Fight by TheRareGem1(f): 6:37pm On Jan 15 |
Most kids these days or permit me to even say the core of the generation that makes up the working class have an idea of how fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Tekken go. If you and your opponent both win one round each of the first two, there is a resultant final round and that is where we find ourselves in the case of the fastidious sheriff of the Ministry of Interior, Honorable Tunji-Ojo and the cabal that profited from the passport rigmarole in the Nigerian Immigration. Clearly we all recall how the minister won the first round with a flawless victory, if I am truly honest I am one of those that laughed at his promise to clear the backlog he met there in 2 weeks. Two weeks ke, you think those profiting from it (if you have ever tried to get a passport in the last three years you would know that the scam started from the gateman at the gate all the way to the very top) would sit back and watch you take “their” food away was the statement I made to a colleague on our way back from work. Even when it took an extra week, I rolled in even more derision, this one wan take us do mugu, we will wait and hear the truth from those who truly matter, the masses. Lo and behold my shock when a full month after all we have heard is words of commendations and praise and not one person has claimed not to have gotten his passport since he applied. Then came the release of inmates whose fines were paid by cooperate social responsibilities of companies under the guidance of the same minister in a bid to decongest the prisons. The starboy of this administration was born and the masses were feeling the impact. But corruption never lies down and dies peacefully, as President Goodluck stated, it fights back with a passion akin to that of a woman scorned. Soon as the wolves on land and sharks in the sea smelt blood they came in ferociously in two distinct groups the Obidients who would not want to see anything good come out of this administration and the syndicate fabricated via finance with one aim in mind; to bring the minister of Interior to such levels of disrepute that he is ousted from office and another person that will join them in feasting on the carcass of the ordinary Nigerian is sent to replace him. In his defence to the allegations, Hon. Tunji-Ojo brought forth certified true copies from CAC that clearly shows that he had resigned from the company as a director alongside his wife since 2019 in accordance with the constitution. Yet, such was the impact the barrage from the agents of corruption that their combined onslaught wrought that even though it was a close affair, they managed to edge the round only because they did manage to smear the white kaftan that the Minister was garbed in due to them stating that logically it would be impossible to rule out influence based on personal interests. Though sometimes one wonders if the minister himself is not a lawyer as he clarified on TV that having fulfilled all stipulated requirements, shouldn’t the next question be to ask if the contract was awarded legally and if it was, was it executed and in accordance with the laid down guidelines in small print. Or are we then suggesting that a company that has proven itself in over a decade of handling contracts with the Federal Government be deemed unworthy of patronage because it once was run by a serving minister even though it is the most qualified of those that put in a bid for the work? Those that have eyes see even when they are crying and that is the stage that we are currently in. Claims were made that despite the clearing of the backlog and the resultant ability to fill your passport application online and only go for biodata at the NIS offices, the cabal was still gleaning a few morsels of meat by randomly delaying those they felt they could intimidate but even that was going to be taken away from them starting on the 8th of March when the entire process of passport acquisition from application to delivery at any address of the choosing of the applicant would be done without interfacing with officers of the Nigerian Immigration service. This is the reason why they now have to fight back. Yes, they have to fight back to be able to sustain the lifestyle that they are currently enjoying based on coning the average Nigerian out of his hard earned sweat. At this juncture, I call on the person of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria to not harken to the voice of a few influencers who have been influenced by cash and other promises but rather to that of “vox populi” allowing the game go on and enabling us all watch as the Honorable minister of interior defeats his detractors in grand style come March 8. Enhancing the competence of our officers is paramount to their comprehensive performance, and we are committed to this endeavor. Politics / Let’s Not Murder The Righteous by TheRareGem1(f): 12:23pm On Jan 10 |
The minister of Interior is clearly not guilty of the allegations being peddled around since he is not the director of the company which is also a private entity (a limited company). The documents are vividly stamped by CAC explicitly showing that he resigned his position as the MD/ Director of company as far back at Feb. 2019 when he won the election for the seat of the House of Representatives Ondo North-East. Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has been more than patriotic in delivering his duties as the minister of Interior, committed to the social development of Nigeria and Nigerians at home and abroad. His impacts have been felt in every area such that every agency under his ministry has gone through one reform or human capital development or the other. Passion, integrity, honesty, resilience are not acquired in a day, they are products of self-discipline, self-development and rebirth (what the Yoruba calls ti tun Ara Eni bi). These are all evident in the life of BTO as we see his works, which also are lacking in most public office holders keeping our nation at a crawling state. Nigerians needs to put the vision of the evolution we have clamored before us, where we are in the journey, what we have attained or achieved so far and what is at stake so that the best decisions for the most individuals the common man might be taken.
