Forwetinnah: I was right after all...you just stated where the string was attached. Deny all you want, the Oligarchy up North are the ones running Booooohari's CPC government. There's very little I can do about your conspiracy theories and speculations bro. If Fashola or Amaechi had missed out, surely you'd have been laughing yourself hoarse by now. Since the Perm secs are meant to make life miserable for them, are there no perm secs from the south? |

Forwetinnah: Have you checked the permanent Sec to those Ministries. You think the Sultan who is pulling Buhari's string is silly? Ameachi is just as mere as Osinbajo, watch out And you were there when the sultan fixed the string to Buhari's buttocks? Who was pulling GEJ"s string when he was there? Hod did it affect Diezani or Iweala? My brother, Osinbajo is vice president and when i hear him speak, I know we voted a valuable man into office. The election is over. GEJ has moved on....you should too |

Rotimi47: Don't mind them; they think aviation, maritime & railways are under a separate ministry. Except President Buhari want aviation to stand on its own but if not, then Big up to Ameachi. Don't mind them. In fact, Aviation is now under transportation and has just a minister of state - Hadi Sirika |

Transportation has been expanded. Imagine ministry of Aviation is now under Transportation with Hadi Sirika as a minister of state(Aviation) under transport. As it is, Aviation, NIMASA, Railways, Shipping business etc are under him Not a bad one if you ask me Feraz: If some of you commenters know what transportation entails and what it generates for a nation, you may not write like this. Congrats to him and I hope he delivers. My bro, do you think plenty of the commenters here are that sharp to know? forget them pls. Imagine an adult Nigerian laughing at the minister of transportation |

Amosun Commends Navy Over Tongeji Island
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has commended the men and officers of the Nigerian Navy for maintaining a presence on Tongeji Island, Ogun State.
The governor stated this on Monday while receiving the newly redeployed Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Rafael Osondu in his Oke-mosan, Abeokuta office.
“I’m happy you are already aware of Tongeji Island, but we would not only need your attention and support in that area, but also at Olokola where we are having our deep sea port. We don’t want these huge resources to again go the way of Bakassi Peninsula,” Amosun said.
While pledging his administration’s continued support for the Nigerian Navy, Governor Amosun said he is convinced that the new Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command is a thoroughbred professional and that must have informed his posting to the sensitive command that oversees Ogun, Lagos and Ondo states.
Speaking earlier, Osondu commended the governor for his support and cooperation with the Navy adding that, “with Ogun now on the verge of becoming one of the oil-producing states, the force was fully ready to ward-off intruders from the oil-rich Tongeji Island.”
The Flag Commanding Officer assured that “our presence in these areas would begin to yield positive results to the state and the nation at large and we are ready to partner and work with the state in every capacity to ensure a hitch-free experience.”

Shymm3x: These folks aren't leaders - they're just opportunistic pilfering loafer put on a pedestal by illiterate and hungry followers. The leaders from that generation were supremely educated and what they went through made them competitive and selfless. sad |

Shymm3x: Really and truly, we're better as neighbours than being in the same country. Nigeria is basically like throwing folks with two different lifestyles in the same accommodation. They'll never get along.
Awo saw into the future and I believe he had the opportunity to interact with different people before saying whatever he said. And one thing folks of that generation have that this generation don't, is the ability to study other climes effectively and do proper research into what nation building entails. Concerning the bold, when last did you hear a politician truly articulate anything nearing a manifesto he understands? The political 'leaders' of today have no single ideology and no depth in their thought patterns. Unfortunately the followers are no better. 2 Congo of rice is enough to convince them about the competence of a candidate. Its tiring |

Shymm3x: South Sudan and Eritea are new countries. Moreso, Sudan was divided into Arab and black land, not across tribal lines. Hence you have a South Sudan that's still evenly distributed among Bari, Luo, Dinka, and other minor black tribes. Eritea is the same with Tigre and Tigrinya.
Better examples would be Seychelles and Botswana - and both countries are among the top-5 most developed countries in Africa. Seychelles is the most developed country on the continent. And when you look at the ethnic demographics, you'd see that Seychelles has over 93% Seychellois Creole, while Botswana has over 80% Tswana. When countries are like that, they're easy to govern. Wow!!! @the bold. Its obvious Nigeria can't be salvaged. Awo was very correct when he described it as ''a mere geographical expression''. He was unrepentant about his Yoruba outlook to most things and its because he saw far ahead. Truly the Igbo's need to have their own country to grow at their own pace too. I believe even the Hausa/Fulani could have made better progress if they were on their own. Our fights for supremacy will NEVER allow our different tribes reach their potential. I used to think I had read far and wide until I encountered this thread. Now I just keep quiet and learn from real scholars Weldone to all the contributors on this awesome thread |

Shymm3x: Anyone with humanity in him/her will feel sorry for the poor folks in the region. When you watch certain documentary and how everywhere in that region has been destroyed by oil spillage. You can't but shake ya head in disgust cos these folks are mostly fishermen. Means of livelihood gone and no compensations for being the source of the country's wealth. Sad.
Their elites are worst type of folks ever. And Nigeria doesn't even care about them. Double whammy of wickedness right there. It's sad...just sad |

Shymm3x: The big creeks - the glue that binds Nigeria together via oil money.
Salute to the creeks. Those folks deserve better, to be honest. This is very true. It's unfortunate how they've fared with the kind of leaders that use them to bargain with the center then corner all that they get in the name of their people. NDDC, Min of Niger Delta, 13% derivation......yet nothing to show for it Go to Port Harcourt and see obscene opulence lying side by side with revolting squalor......it's crazy Anyways, who am i to judge them?? what have i done to hold our own SW leaders to account? |
