The Senate Petition Commitee handling the various petitions forwarded to them by various groups against the Nomination of some Persons as Minister by President Mohammadu Buhari has cleared the former Governor of Rivers State Chibuike Rotimi Amaech ahead of tomorrows screening.


The SENATE Commitee had invited the INTEGRITY GROUP which has ran several documentaries against Amaechi to come today by 12 Noon Prompt to submit their petition.

The commitee told the Integrity GROUP this afternoon, that the case of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is still in Court,and the SENATE has no powers to stop his Screening over allegations which are yet to be validated by a court of competent jurisdiction.

With this development,Amaechi will be screened tomorow.

The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in APO High Court has upheld the election of Senator George Thompson Sekibo of the Rivers West Senatorial District.


Justice Muazu Pindiga who presided over the panel that gave the judgement stated that the petitioner Chief Hon.Andrew Uchendu failed to convince the Tribunal that the National Assembly Election which took place on March 28th 2015 at the Rivers East Senatorial District was fraudulent nor marred by violence.

Andrew Uchendu of the APC has approached the Rivers State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal seeking for a total nullification of the March 28th Senatorial Election,which brought George Sekibo as the winner.
