Nice one, congrats to GOAT Messi. Hopefully a precursor to the Ballon D'or standings. Omo that Goal50 voting na die. I spent almost an hour voting Male and female players head to head. It was tiring when it seemed endless I just closed the webpage ![]() |
Laeroy:Taa! What's the big deal in all you put up there? I bathe my kids and dress up for them I regularly go to stores to buy household needs I take my kids to school. I engage artisans for domestic repairs Pay for an housecleaning maid that comes 3 times a week Wash plates sometimes and regularly arrange the house Yet, apart from the above which I dont see as a big deal, I foot 99.99% of the family Bills and also support at least one of my wife's parents, brother or sisters financially every month. And I am not an exception. Many of my neighbours (male) family are also set up like that. The problem with most women is that they try to compare domestic activities which any uneducated Tom dick and harry can do with the gainful employment which brings in money which is hard to achieve. Can you compare the value your maid that does all the domestic work brings in with the value your husband brings as a senior manager with an IOC? Very very unintelligent way of thinking. |
OJEEMAH:No mind them. Like now, they have refused to post Portugal's non qualification on FP. If Lord Pendu had scored and helped them qualify now, na for midnight e go don enter FP. Jokers all of them. |
obonujoker:Lol jokers all of ya . Your MO is to dey attack Messi wey just come back from injury and helped his team to maintain their 1-0 away win. Whatabaout your goat-lite wey no even fit qualify Portugal after 2 games vs Ireland and Serbia, teams wey no even reach Peru's current level. Your binoculars no see that one criticize ba . 800 goals in the mud buhahahaha ![]() |
OJEEMAH:3 bottles for you. Killed and nailed it as usual. All these times Messi has been scoring against Uruguay, Colombia & Chile in WC qualifiers, them no open thread say he's doing well for Argentina in big games. Na when Di Maria con contribute him quota they now find their selective voices. |
This Mayowa guy is like that Sangwoo guy that ran away to enrol in Squid games to recover all the investors money he lost. From the story, it looks more like he lost investors funds in the process of forex trading rather than embezzle their money. Quite unfortunate. |
OJEEMAH:Yeah. Although stats can misrepresent sometimes but not this particular one ![]() |
Trumann:You forgot Olawepo Hashim, the "People's choice" for the 2019 elections. The guy no get up to 50 votes nationally despite several online awards received from Alex. I think Alex makes a living from deceiving dead horses. It's not his fault, it's their fault for not being smart enough to decode reality. |
Kingcalls:That's totally false. Messi has 20 classico goals vs CR' s 18 goals between 2009 - 2018 that CR was there. |
Messi of course has the better stats head to head it's a no brainer. Since 2008 when CR came to madrid, Messi has scored 20 goals and over 10 assists against Ronaldo's Madrid. In these same games CR only managed 18 goals and one assist. Messi - 31 direct goal involvements vs Madrid 2009- 2018 CR - 19 direct goal involvements vs Barca 09 - 18. Its not even close. Messi na the GOAT |
bizzibodi:Villian - "I come in peace" Dolph Lundgren - "And you will go back in pieces" Thanks for the memories. |
BigBellyBurst:Scott is the one that acted Ninja 1 & 2 right? Truly he gives off similar Van Damme vibes. Only that he doesnt seem to have a signature martial art move unlike Van Damme that had a few of those. I like the guy no cap. He looks like a tougher john Kerry and Ben Stiller rolled into one. |
Cholls:That's Bolo-Young receiving the deadly kick! Of the action figures back then, Dolph Lungren was the hardest. He had this stone-cold ultra-hard demeanour that always gives chills to viewers. Arnold still remains the fans favorite. He was like the ultimate A-list action star of the 90s till early 2000s, like Chuck Norris was in the 80s up till early 90s. Van Damme had the baddest moves and was the most interesting. Loved those his 360 degrees kicks. To a lot of kids back then, he was the pioneer of leg splits. And I could do it then cos I was inspired by him. Rambo is the all-action package. One man resilient army. Most rugged. Can do all required to survive. Never gives up even at the point of death. Rivals Arnold for ultimate action actor position. Steven Seagal as well was Mr Stainless. Always gives flawless victory with no single opponent impact on that his flowing black German coat. Never really liked him much back then though. Nowadays, these roles are performed by Jason Statham, The Rock & Vin Diesel but now with a lot of techno-visual effects rather than raw martial arts. |
onuwaje:You bringing back memories bro. Anoeta those years. Anoeta in 2015 was the catalyst for Luis Enrique's eventual exit from Barca after benching Messi in that game and we lost. It became the point of no return for Enrique as the trust between the fans & board and him was irrevocably damaged even though he won the treble for Barca. I think it still hurts Enrique that he was not accorded a similar level of respect Guardiola enjoyed despite winning the treble as well. |
ddippset:Exactly, this team needs a lot of that. The injuries are piling up. Just hope we wouldnt get to the point where we have no option but to field the likes of Lord De Jonzing. |
Optimistguy1969:Only the widely-read will acknowledge this post. Robert Wadlow the tallest man in history at 9ft tall (2.72metres). His record will be truly hard to break. That aside, Pele's 3 world cup is the hardest to break. Only Ronaldo de lima came closest to breaking it with 2 world cup wins and a runner-up medal. But this record requires some luck to break it as the national team must be very strong for at least a decade like Brazil was between 1993 and 2002. Mbappe may have a chance if France maintain their strength by next year. Messi's 91 goals in a calendar year is the next hardest. For Gerd Muller to have maintained the record for a lower number of goals (85) for almost 40 years speaks volumes of how harder Messi's own will be to break. In a structured league, it will be very tight cos you need both outstanding club and country performances to achieve this feat. As prolific as Lewandowski has been this year, he is still almost 40 goals away from Messi's record and we are already into November to show you the enormity of Messi's achievement. Lewy's 5 goals in 9 minutes follows: A truly remarkable feat but that which can be broken if a Man City is playing a team of fishermen and plumbers. This record may still stand around for a decade or so. CR's 17 UCL goals is also a magnificent feat, but is the most likely to be broken quickest as both CR himself and Lewy have come a goal or two close in recent seasons. If Lewy ends up with double UCL figures at group stage this December, the record will be under threat once again. |
RIP to the adventurous lady. Sad tale. Meanwhile, that meander in the first picture is just too perfect and beautiful. Nature rocks! |
Anyone who wins it between Messi or Lewy deserves it. Messi for his combination of great individual performances and the Copa win and Lewy for his outstanding individual stats. Rooting for Messi to win either Ballon dor or Fifa World best, or both. And the headline is just bullsh*t. Neither Crouch or Ferdie said Messi winning a 7th would be a travesty. What only Crouch said was Lewy not winning a Ballon dor IN HIS LIFETIME would be a travesty. All these quack Ronaldo mods/fans sha wey no know how to read. |
Gbest90:Ok thanks. That settles it then. |
Gbest90:Not that I forgot, but wasnt sure about how he left his previous club for Dortmund. |
toffyz:True. |
I think Guardiola and Zidane are probably the only active high profile coaches that are yet to receive a sack letter in their careers. |
Really unfortunate. Smart move from the construction company to protect their integrity. I know that building very well near Lafarge Holcim office on Gerrard. It's been uncompleted for a while and I remember I used to admire it from afar as it was going to be the tallest building in that Ikoyi axis. This is really terrible. Worked had stopped on the building for a while so it's not like activities were ongoing there on a daily basis. How the collapse then happened on the day a lot of people were present was really an unfortunate luck. Could it also be that the extra load of 50 people unbalanced the already weak structure |

cr7lomo:How is this epistle relevant to my initial comment you quoted? You said Messi has not performed up to expectations in the UCL and I said that's not true since he scored 3 goals in 3 games (2 open play goals and one penalty). I also gave credit to Mbappe in my comment so I don't get how Mbappe is being pulled down for Messi here unless you are just downloading what's been in your mind from elsewhere regardless of the comment you are quoting which is not a very intelligent way of response. Look for those who are pulling down Mbappe & Lewandowski for the GOAT and respond appropriately. |
cr7lomo:3 goals in 3 games is prolific for anybody no matter how you look at it. And the 3 goals are: a wonder goal against a top opponent, a stylish penalty and a tap in as you call it. Yes Mbappe has been crucial but that does not mean Messi should not be appreciated for making the best out of Mbappe's assists. Summary is that both Messi and Mbappe have been excellent in the UCL which is what really matters for PSG. |
Toks2008:Toks so you sef dey acknowledge the GOAT even as a chelsea fan that you are (I assume). Oil plenty for your head bro |
This is just a clickbait from obembe. The response was relevant for Messi after he hangs up his boots, instead of portraying it as he wants to run away from PSG back to Barca. The GOAT indisputable. |
He's still adapting to the French league and injuries and the South American qualifiers schedule have been disrupting this process. The most important part is that he has been prolific in the UCL which is a much bigger stage than the French league. So take a chill pill Obembedi and her likes. |
Beverlyjean:Mr Kingcalls, our resident Nairaland transgender ![]() Ermm, so according to you, your darling super-fashion conscious Ronaldo is a weak man. Or you'll change mouth as usual ? |
Afamed:Dont be too sure. The coach matters a lot. Look at the current spanish national team for example. It still has a lot of the so called average Barca players, yet they are doing well and almost won the UNL and reached Euros semi-final. Give this Barca team to a very good tactician and better physical conditioning and you'd marvel at the change in fortunes that'll follow. |
