I now see the reason for the backwardness of my Nation, we blame those at the corridor of “power” forgetting those at the corridor of “education”; the corridor of “common sense “.

I am a discussant of History and it has made me realise that from time immemorial, whenever there is problem in the society ,tertiary institutions are places of solace,they are citadels of solutions.

Government would go to schools to consult undergraduates, lecturers; professors as they posed to be the backbone of the society. Now, Nigeria is in shambles, the economy is crumbling.

That *MALLAM U. C. ALIU* of the English Department physically assaulted a student of the English Department.

That *MALLAM U. C. ALIU* who happens to be in the *ASUU/STUDENT committee* who are poised at maintaining cordial relationships between Student and lecturer have since been harassing and placing fear in the mind of students who are ready to learn. *HOW THEN DO WE NOW CREATE A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH LECTURERS AND STUDENT?*

In Line with the Student *Handbook and Degree 27* who guides both staffs and students it's against the law to harass student on any ground but rather invoke the law


On this ground we hereby call on the Student Union Government and management of the university to wave into the issue and find a long lasting solution to the subject matter above as its already becoming an habit and a day to day activities of lecturers who are suppose to be Friendly and not a *Conglomeration of Academic Ignorami.

How can it be, on whose ears will it be told that AAU Students Union Government for about 4 years now had not done any reasonable physical Project in the University and that for a full Section, there was no Students Union Election and of course no Legitimate Students Union Government who was even paid any official Salary from the Students Union Account, yet, it was shocking to have heard that it is just about N1,000,000 (one million naira) that is in the Students Union Account and not any other account, but same account that receives about N30,000,000 (Thirty million naira) annually from Students Subscription. Then what happened to the Union Fund. If at all it is assumed that the Union Funds of the previous years was mismanaged by the Students Union Government (which can't be true), then what happens to that of the immediate past Section where there was neither any SUG Election or Legitimate SUG Executives.

It will interest you to know that the Students out of curiosity have reacted so powerfully as regard this issue, informing the NANS President under the leadership of Comrade Danielson Bamidele of the Nans NewDawn. In his quest to ascertain the Situation therefore and to know what was the issue with the AAU Students Union account, why the funds of about N90,000,0000 (Ninety Million naira) seems missing. He appointed some NANS delegates from the NANS JCC and NANS Zone B as Investigative Committee to Investigate and Audit the Students Union Account.

My brothers and sisters, while these delegated NANS officials have come, stayed for about 3 weeks in Ekpoma and left, it will shock you to know that nothing was reported, nothing was investigated as rumours has it and in fact, we have also heard from bush FM of same rumour that the same NANS Official who were asked to come and Investigate the issue of Fraud have collected brown envelope from the same little money left in the Union's Account, to keep their mouth shut and let everything lie low.

Why we at first refused to believe the above Rumour when it was all over the Air, we have come to realize that we have no option but to believe as it is almost about two good months that these NANS Officials left Ambrose Alli University after the Investigation they never did, and till now, we have not received any report from the NANS President as regard this issue. While we were not gathered by these NANS Officials to be briefed of their arrival, we were not aware of any of their Investigation and we were not also briefed as to the outcome of this investigation. But at least, if at all they actually did not collect brown envelope, if actually they were not compromised and if actually they did what the NANS President sent them to AAU to do, we would have long received a Positive Response from the NANS President by now.

While we are not surprised that these same set of people have also been accused of collecting money to allow the Unjust Disqualification of Popular Candidates for the AAU SUG election about two years ago and also more recently accused of collecting brown envelope from the University to keep calm after being sent by the NANS President to stop anything that has to do with the Lecture of Governor Feyemi of Ekiti state in the 22nd Convocation of the Prestigious University, owing to the fact that the Governor has a case to answer with NANS as regard the shootings (from his wife Convoy) that led to the killing of two innocent Students, while we are not surprised about all of these owing to the fact that they have over the years proven not to be trusted, we are however very much surprised to have the NANS President under the Leadership of Comrade Bamidele keep mute over these Irregularities that he met and that are fast growing bigger in under his watch and administration and most importantly, very much surprised why the NANS President have chosen to ignore the most important issue which is the AAU Union's Account where about Ninety Millions Naira has been confirmed Missing which is an Embarrassment to the Education System where Solution to our National Problems ought to have emanated from.

In the Spirit Aluta, we the Students of Ambrose Alli University therefore call on the NANS President to as a Matter of Urgency, to please come, Swing into Action for his Presence is highly needed as those who he sent has failed us and caused more harm than good with their Actions and Inaction in the University Community.

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the death of retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Muhammadu Danmadami as a great loss to the country.


The president made his feelings known in a condolence message issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu in Abuja.

While condoling with the family and friends on the passage of the late DIG, President Buhari described the deceased as a remarkably dedicated officer.

“I am saddened by the news of Danmadami’s death at this time when his valuable experiences were needed by the country.


“Even in retirement, the valuable advice of such a dedicated officer was relevant to the country’s security challenges.

“Late Danmadami, who was also the traditional title holder of Sa’in Katagum, had left a distinguished and untainted record of service to the country. His contributions will be remembered for years to come,’’ he said.

The president prayed to God to bless the soul of the deceased and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
