Statistics?? Reallyhuh Does anybody keep those in nigeria. Anyway, all these are hypothetical situations, there's no evidence to say that children of single parents are bound to be worse than both parents. Actually there are kids brought up in homes with both parents that turn out to be monsters e.g adolf hitler
Actually, researches have been done to prove that children who grow with both parents are better than children who grow up with single parents. There was a thread where someone gave links to such researches.
I'm lazy/busy to dig out links to show you.You can do a bit of google search to see if it's true.It doesn't mean that all children who grow up with both parents turn out well or that you don't have children raised by single parents who turn out well,it just means that there were more cases of delinquents in single-parent homes than where both parents are present.

Hoow many of the so - called married couples actually bring the kids up together under one roof. We live in an age where parents are to busy looking for daily bread and kids are brought up by either a single parent or nanny.....and this the same tin whether or not the parents r married!
Naaah. You have to provide statistics if you want to argue this point.Even when the parents are busy, they still come home to meet the children and spend the greater part of the day with them on weekends. It's not the same as single parenthood.
Moreover, the psycho-social effects are not the same.

Men and women should learn to love, respect, be loyal and be selfless to one another in body and soul. Anything short of such leads to divorce... having a happy home takes lots of sacrifice from both parties..
A pity many don't want to make such sacrifices.

Honestly the world need to revert back to just giving birth and no marriage.
You will have a lot of street kids then.Growing up with both parents(responsible ones though)still remains the best for every child.

Therefore, the most criticized prophet is the truest; the most criticized church is the best.

In fact, the most criticized administration is the best.

You ignore what Jesus said at Matthew 7:21-23 and other related prophecies about emergence of false prophets in this time of the end. KEEP DECEIVING YOURSELF!
Jesus spoke about false prophets and that must mean there are true ones.Did you read about where He said by their fruits, you shall know them?Ref-Matthew 7:15-20.

Tell me,are these criticisms based on the fruits they exhibit or just because it's the Church or they are pastors?Have you read through comments to see that most have nothing to do with fruits/characters they exhibit?
It's not about just criticizing but making objective ones.Even the bible says judge righteously(John 7:24).

As I said

Follow biblical injunction and I advise people to stick to their kind

It is pointless been the black sheep

But whatever sails your boat rock with it

The bottom line is 90% of those that maried ....are seen that way

My observation dearie
What's the biblical injunction?I want to learn.

You people have a way of jumping into conclusion....

Who mentioned growing up in east

Where is deductive reasoning pls
The statement you made is conclusive so there's no need to jump here.
You're igbo and feel any lady that marries outside of igbo has a problem.
That's poor!
Romance › Re: Am I Right Or Wrong? by thorpido(m): 10:20am On Feb 13, 2016
Why are you deceiving yourself?
Break up with the lagos guy if you feel the guy on school is the one you want to be with.
With all the possessiveness of the lagos guy,you are still in another guy's arms. The guy dey deceive himself.
Family › Re: Inter-tribal Marriages,....... How Did It Turn Out For You by thorpido(m): 10:02am On Feb 13, 2016
tonychristopher:
Th ratio of igbo men that married outside is very low even if they will marry they marry from near by tribes like cross rivers and Delta

An average well brought up igbo lady wants to marry an igbo man and will marry one but when the bad ones with dirty history doesn't see husband they end up as available becoming desirable

Look at tonto
Now the bolded is flawed, very flawed.Do you mean growing up in the east means being well brought up? A lady who is raised in the west and 'well brought up' necessarily must marry an igbo guy?An igbo lady raised outside of the east and working in a multinational with all the exposure must marry an igbo guy?If she does then she must be bad and with a dirty history?

You're falling in love with him because you have known him and he is the father of your child.
Why was he not present when he got you pregnant the first time?
Whatever you decide, hold on with sex for the time being.

I think people are not just accepting of what's unfamiliar. Hence the bias.
smiley
Some people have chosen the unfamiliar and that's where the fun is.
The majority which is human nature anyway won't choose the unfamiliar.

Most male children gravitate towards their mums and the girls their dads.
Talking about preference, the way my parents didn't show any preference towards any child is the same way I do not(or did not)show preference towards any of them.

how do you feel when you have to spend extended periods at her hometown plus weird inlaw requests from you during events such as burials or weddings. Cool with all that or similar to ur customs?
Well i only spend holidays and that's during festive seasons, just a few days.I never get to spend up to a week.
No strange requests from in-laws except that I have to give money to many people whenever I make trips to see in-laws.They expect handouts unlike my own people but that's okay. It's not like it's everyday.
One of the things you need to find out about the tribe you want to marry into are their expectations. If you are okay with it,then you go ahead.
Even though I can marry from anywhere, the demands of some tribes will make me not to.

I'm enjoying mine.Yoruba married to Efik(Cross River).
My parents are educated, same as hers so tribe was never an issue.Of course it's easier to marry someone who speaks your language but we speak the same language - english, lol.
I don't see any issue between us that has to do with tribe.
First you must be someone who is receptive, adaptable and tolerant.Be willing to learn a different language,at least the basics.Also.be willing to adapt to the culture.Be willing also to make some sacrifices eg for me trips to Cross River during festive seasons.

Sis, you married a strong and good man. Because sorry to say, most Yoruba families don't like their sons marrying 'outsiders'.

I wonder why?
It's in every tribe but the degree may vary. You want people you can easily relate with because they speak your language and understand your culture. It's human nature.

Hi, sorry for disturbing again..

Do I still go on with my routine drugs (iron, folic acid, vit c, calcium, bcomplex) even while on malaria drugs? Heard vit c and iron render malaria drugs ineffective. . Do I take them at separate hours?

Thank you. .. smiley
Iron and vit c do reduce the efficacy of malaria drugs and could even boost the parasites.I'll say you should hold on with the routine drugs until you complete the dosage of your malaria drugs.

Most times even when a girl sees a guy is no good, she says....

I finally talked to my mother today. She almost gave up on me. So far, it hasn't gotten better yet but I'm sure I'll become a very responsible person from now. Thanks for the encouragement
They are definitely not going to be pleased with you but I want you to know you have set yourself on the path for a positive change.
Your parents may threaten or even decide they are hands off your education but give it time, they may still support you.
Look at what you can do about your education presently. Can you defer your studies?Find out what can work.
I also feel you don't move with the right type of friends and you will need to change that.Cut yourself off people who are not focused and are not driven.Begin to look for people who are focused and driven and acquaint yourself with such people.

Hello sabi mamas, please help a FTM..
Was tested of malaria, 1+... So the doctor gave me proguanil tablets. .but I'm so scared of taking it..had a miscarriage before. . embarassed
My friend advised I wait till I pass my first trimester before taking the drugs..

Any implications of not taking it?
I'm thinking of yielding to my friend's advice. .

Thanks smiley
Proguanil(paludrine) is considered safe in pregnancy. You should go ahead and use it.
Having plasmodium parasites in the body in pregnancy is a problem of its own.

It shouldn't surprise you because the bible already spoke of it.
A prophet is not without honour except in his own country.....

Again the bible also spoke about the Church. The greatest criticism in this earth will be against the Church till Christ comes. The Scriptures must be fulfilled and those who speak against the Church are fulfilling the Scriptures till their judgement comes.
