It's a pity BATists can't differenciate between AND. If the statement had said including the fct, that would have been different. But AND is an additional word to a content
Nigeria is defined as 36 states and FCT, not 36 states including FCT.

That section of the law is not just a statement but defining all of Nigeria, hence, all states and FCT.

How can and follow comma? Which kind of English is that? Ok what is 2/3 of 37?
2/3 of all of Nigeria is currently 2/3 of 36 states and FCT, that is 2/3 of 37.

Minimum of 25 states goes above it already.
24 states is still short.

Quit being clever by half!

2 and 3 repeat what 1 has already said, but with a bit more turenchi!
You are an illiterate.

1 is different from 2 and 3.

Nigeria is known to be comprised of 36 states and FCT, so if a statistic is required from the sample population that is all of Nigeria, it would read that all the states and FCT because the FCT is part of Nigeria.

So 25% in 2/3 of Nigeria is 25% in all the states and FCT.

That is 36 states and FCT, totalling to 37 units from which 25% is required from 2/3.

If there was a comma before AND as written below,

25% in 2/3 of all states, and FCT

That would be the same as number 3 written by Tesppidd.

When will the ministerial list be released
Seems you've accepted things as they are
Yes!

All Nigerians must keep asking their President to keep to the promises set by his close advisers to release the already overdue Ministers list as ae have entered the 8th week, while a serious government would have done so within 1month a la Dele Alake's and Bayo Onanuga's assertion.

However, APC internal matter is a matter for its members and supporters.

The sense you missed is that there is always reward for loyalty and support, as such, Niger State is more deserving to represent North Central within APC's power structure.

You, Olanipekun, Tinubu and the rest of the mob are twisting and giving your own deceptive meaning to what the constitution clearly states in black and white!

Two things:

*The constitution states that 'a candidate must score 25% in 2/3 of the states of Nigeria AND the FCT'!.....Couldn't have been stated any more clearly in plain english! If for the purposes of this particular rule, the framers of the constitution had intended Abuja to be treated same as the 36 states of Nigeria they could have stated '25% in 2/3 of the component units of Nigeria' as you're now editorialising to suit your own narrative! Or they could have stated '25% in 2/3 of the states of the federation INCLUDING Abuja', and this would have definitively shown that, for the purposes of this rule, Abuja was to be taken as a 37th state to be INCLUDED in the rule!

*More importantly, the President is de-jure and de-facto Governor of the FCT....in law and in fact, so it stands to reason that a Governor gets at least 25% in the state he wants to govern! It wouldn't be fair on the inhabitants of Abuja if this wasn't the case!
Yes!

2/3 of all the states and FCT is describing the whole of Nigeria that is the sample population where 25% is required.

All the States and FCT is the totality of Nigeria.

Nigeria is made of all (36) states and FCT.

There is no comma before the AND (and), as such the rules apply at once to what has been described.

If there was a comma before the AND (, and), the rules will apply individually firstly to all the states, and individually secondly to the FCT.

The comma being absent means the (all states and FCT is together as one description of Nigeria).

Once the results from the mutilated and blurred results are deducted, and the supressed votes from Lagos, Rivers, Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, etc are retallied,Tinubu will go home with less than 6m
And the votes of Obi and Atiku on those same mutilated sheets will remain?

Oga, Nigeria is made up of 36 States simple! The FCT was defined as the second component of the Constitution. It also went on to discuss the formulation. It was clear on it definition of Abuja as an Area Council which is headed by the president
Nigeria is made up of 36states and FCT.

That is the geographical components within Nigeria.

2/3 of Nigeria is 2/3 of 36states and FCT.

The rule is for 2/3 of all states and FCT.

The rule is not for 2/3 of all states, and FCT.

The comma is not for fun, hence its absence in that rule.

There's nothing special about Abuja. It's considered as the 37th State with regards to elections. Besides, the sentence in the constitution states so when read from the English grammar perspective. Commas have their inferences. Same when there's an absence of it.
I have harped on the comma issue, but it seems many are too dull to understand that since (, and FCT) is different from ( and FCT), Tinubu nor any candidate do not need specific votes from FCT.

Abuja is not a state dude!
It is part of the 37 geographical units that make up Nigeria.

The purpose of that rule of 25% in 2/3 of Nigeria is to ensure national spread, and not to make any particular unit more important than the rest of the 37.

Did Tinubu get the required national spread in the 37 geographical units?

Yes he did.

29 units out of 37 units is already more than 2/3.
PoliticsRe: Here Is Why Peter Obi Is Next In Line If Tinubu Is Disqualified by Throwback: 12:02pm On Jul 17, 2023

Abuja in the Constitution isn't a state. FCT was defined in the Constitution. Please, get your facts right.

Nigeria comprises of two components in the Constitution;
1. The states
2. The FCT. One must get 2/3 of the two components

The Constitution defines the meaning of the states which are 36 while it went forward to define what FCT means. FCT is regarded as an Area Council headed by the President as the governor. So, if you must be the president of the council, 2/3 is the requirement

So, the Constitution isn't wrong to always state and FCT. So, get 2/3 in 24 states and 2/3 of the Area Council which is FCT Or do you win a state as a governor without winning 25% of the state, if we so consider FCT as a compulsory state? This is the council that houses all the Federal bodies
The constitution isn't wrong to always mention the FCT after the states.

Both the States and FCT is the totality of federation units in Nigeria.

That is 37 units.

So that is why the rule is to secure national spread in Nigeria that is made up of all states and FCT.

25% in 2/3 of Nigeria is 25% in 2/3 of all states and FCT.

Did Tinubu get this mark in the 37 units that make up Nigeria?

Yes!

Obi's votes were drastically reduced by INEC and was added to Tinubu. obi proved this in court and he also submitted 18,000 pu results sheet as evidence. Oga Tinubu did not win up to 6 states in the last election. Of course FTC being a determinant factor here also goes to Obi.

This is a clear indication that obi is already the president in waiting

Winning 25% in Abuja is nonsense.

Abuja is like 37th State, so if any Candidate won 25% of 37 States, it should be fine.

What is special about Abuja that residents must know Candidate enough to give 25% votes.

Makes no sense.
In fact, 0 votes in Abuja can never stop the candidate with the highest votes who has already attained 25% in 2/3 of our 37 federation units.

The federation units are all states and FCT which is currently 36 states and FCT.

Tinubu already has that in 29 States out of the 37 units.

Tinubu's victory is unshakable.

Stop increasing the potential of obidients' misery.

Tinubu is the President and does not require a single vote in FCT to be validly declared the winner of the election he won.

Did Tinubu score 25% in 2/3 of that totality of 37 units?

Yes!

Because the and FCT is part of the totality of Nigeria.

This is a technical point being raised here.
what the Tinubu team did is to restate what is in the constitution, which is 25% in 2/3 of all states and FCT.

All states and FCT is 36 States and FCT which is what makes up the federation of Nigeria.

Has Tinubu achieve 25% in 2/3 of Nigeria's federation?

The answer is Yes.

No candidate needs any particular state and FCT, only to get the requirement in 25% of (all states and FCT).
