Chanchit:Very fair and forgiving. Even his long time traducers are very impressed with that trait of his. |
Chanchit:I get really surprised when I see that Igbos especially are trying to smear Tinubu with the tribalism card. |
A ruling party President is meant to be uninterested in who emerges as the presidential candidate of his party. After the candidate has emerged, he is expected to wholly support the candidate the party members/delegates have chosen. Even if the deputy of the President is also an aspirant, the President is totally neutral and would never endorse any of the aspirants. That is the way it is in the USA with their marathon year long presidential primaries. |
Kenneth4u205:You mean the architect of a multicultural Lagos leadership is a tribalist who would be worse than Buhari? Abeg if you would lie, do it with a religious conscience. This is a man that gave up his seat as Governor for an Igbo boy as the very 1st 1-day Governor in 2001. Him and his wife who was running the New Era foundation, did not renege on the pledge because an Igbo boy won the Spelling Bee competition. That Igbo boy, Anisiobi Ebuka, was also sponsored on excursion to Finland and having graduated from the University in Nigeria on scholarship, later worked with Oando that is owned by Wale Tinubu. Many other instances of non-yoruba alumna of the spelling bee finals, who continued to enjoy from the magnanimity of the Tinubus. I laughed when I read that Peter Obi wrote a letter to the head boy of a school. Commendable! But Tinubu surrendered his seat as Governor to a secondary school student, for 1day every year from 2001 till he departed office in 2007. Do you know how personal his contribution to building leadership and responsibility in young minds? Do I need to talk about many non-yorubas that continue to thrive in public service of Lagos State and also heading Lagos State agencies during the Tinubu regime? Former Lagos Police Commissioner, Young Arabamen from Edo State, was put in charge of LASTMA, a Northerner was put in charge of KAI (Kick Against Indiscipline). Do you know how much opportunities him and his successors in Lagos have afforded many non-yorubas in Lagos State governance and administration? You can try as much as it is your agenda, but you can never paint Tinubu with the tribalism brush. Negro please! |
Saraki that promised Lagos PDP in 2019 that he will teach them how to defeat Tinubu, unbeknown to him that hurricane "O to ge" was on the horizon to erase his political existence in Kwara State, while Tinubu remains a political titan. |
ChoCho54:The guy is right. It was Tinubu that Buhari visited in Lagos and made the remark from the number of cars he observed. |
DoggoneDogg:Your highness is celestial. |
adecz:Are you talking about the same Atiku that lost his village polling unit? I reckon APC lost Katsina in the results on the Atikulated INEC server. |
abbey621:I concur. They have tried everything, even trying to destroy their very party just to stop a man that contributed to them attaining the power they are abusing. Let a free and fair primary be held and let whoever wants to lead the party to the general election show he has the followership behind him. Tinubu does not need anyone's anointing oil, because while they were all sleeping and regaling in the power of the present, Tinubu was ever busy greasing the diverse components that work together for the success of the party. |
Massiveglory:What about the NPDP that refused to decamp to APC at the last minute? I mean the likes of Gov Babangida Aliyu of Niger State? Did he win his Senatorial election in that 2015 or did the APC candidate not defeat him? Many in the North rode on hurricane Buhari in 2015, such that even PDP candidates were using Buhari's pictures in their campaign banners. Hurricane Buhari was driven by Tinubu all the way to Aso Rock where Jonathan was sacked. So even Buhari and his family know who took them to Aso Rock. So I tell you that without Atiku, Kwankwaso or Saraki, Buhari would have still won in 2015. Rather, their decamping to APC extended their political career up to 2019, or 2022 as is the case with Amaechi. |
Their replacement for Sergio Ramos. |

obynzo:Dude, I have no reason to lie. Tinubu upgraded Ijeshatedo Road in Surulere before his re-election in 2003. |
Etinosa1234:Abubakar Bukola Saraki's father is Abubakar Olusola Saraki, who at a time owned Société General Bank, and was a Senate leader in the Shagari regime. His father trained professionally as a medical doctor and Bukola Saraki followed his footstep to qualify as a doctor but worked in his father's bank to become Executive Director or MD. The father was considered the strong man of Kwara politics. |
obynzo:Dude, Ijeshatedo Road in Surulere was fully upgraded by Tinubu. I saw it in the news and I saw it with my very eyes when I had to sit for my JAMB UME at a center on that road. More still, the upgraded road was even captured in his re-election campaign jingle in 2003. |
Yadid:So who then do we blame? A governor who had foresight and understood we would be where we are now struggling to generate above 1000MW, or the FG who had no plan and would not let those with a plan to succeed. |
Administration1:Even with the little I know about Akwa-Ibom, I know many giant strides were achieved in infrastructure, especially by the Godswill Akpabio regime. I have no reason to begrudge Akwa-Ibom, but would find it foolish that because Akwa-Ibom came alive in the 2000s, the road needs of Akwa-Ibom should be compared to the road needs of a megalopolis Lagos. Akwa-Ibom needs new express roads, while Lagos needs roads expansion. There is nothing about ghost state or city where I reside. It is my prerogative to disclose my actual location. I have lived and worked in Abuja also, and the quality of roads is no better than in Lagos. No be Dantata & Sawoe dey handle most road projects that time in Abuja? And for the premium road executions, no be the same Julius Berger dey get am whether in Lagos or Abuja or PH or Akwa-Ibom? So what is the baseless exaggeration for by the person I quoted, who then wanted to use it to malign a Tinubu that actually delivered when his fellow governors were sleeping? |
MetaPhysical:If you are not disputing the fact that he attended Chicago State University, where then does fraud, corruption or deceit enter a matter of clerical error that was of no benefit to the dramatis personae? Get off your high horse and accept you are prejudiced. There is no suggestion, it is a fact that a member of the party filled the form on his behalf considering the late primary for a deadline that had to be met while still squabbling with post party primary issues that arose between Tinubu's camp and Funso Williams camp within the party AD. Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, if indeed he's the one that filled the form as reported, might have been ignorant that Chicago State University as information provided to him to fill is not the same as University of Chicago. There are countries where the name of a university can be transposed and it would still be the same university like in the UK. Manchester University or London University is the valid transpose of University of Manchester and University of London respectively. This is not the case when the adjectival "state" is included in the supposed transpose as evidenced with the USA and Nigeria where there a state universities and independent universities. If you have any idea about party politics, especially in 1999, you will not find it reckless that a party member filled the form of a party candidate. It is matters like Tinubu's that have made politicians more circumspect with such filings. How do you know that the correct action has not been subsequently effected? Or are you INEC that determine what is valid or invalid in terms of candidate particulars? Whatever is the requirement from INEC is what need to be met. |
ImmaculateJOE:Tambuwal is the standard for political betrayal in Nigeria. I urge Southern politicians never to have anything to do with this selfish fellow. Him and Saraki can betray anyone and any party just to satisfy their own ambition. Saraki can even betray his own father. Wait, Saraki actually did betray his father who singlehandedly made him Governor. |
NigerianSage:The dude is fond of creating topics where he is the most ignorant contributor to the debate, that's why he's always moving from one discussion point to another. After many years, he still remains mentally handicapped. |
MetaPhysical:Since you are so interested in proving a case with this matter, why not also pull your own record of Tinubu from INEC and then sue him and INEC to court? Won't that be better than just this aimless debate? |
MetaPhysical:Many years did not pass. The matter was thrashed out in the same 1999. If you were not drowning in ignorance, you would know that Gani Faweyinmi took up the case in court. While subsequent submission to INEC for the 2003 re-election has already corrected the clerical error without further prejudice. Politically it is a non-issue as no benefit or undue advantage was obtained from the clerical error. The dude has a valid bachelor's degree and from a university situated in the same city of Chicago. I hope you can move on now to something worthwhile? |
MetaPhysical:Dude stop pretending you are an imbecil3. You are referring to a 1999 INEC form whose circumstances have already been detailed by many who have tried to bring you out of the darkness of ignorance, but you prefer to remain in the darkness so you can continue to ask the same questions that have been duly answered. If you do not intend to be enlightened, why bother making a public discussion out of a prejudice in your heart? And if your deliberate ignorance troubles your soul that much, why not sue Tinubu and INEC in the court? |
otipoju:I have told you many roads that were expanded and revamped during the regime of Tinubu, and those are just roads on which I had personal experiences. I am not a government agent to reel out the roll call of roads that were done in areas you would have preferred. Good you mentioned Ambode and refuse, as waste management was one of the decisions he took that alienated him from the local politics that eventually saw him losing the support of the grassroots politicians that would have aided his return for a 2nd term. I have been to other states and cities in Nigeria. I don't currently live in Lagos, but I do not see anything better in the very urban city I currently reside that is better than Lagos. Everyone knows that every street is not tarred in Lagos or any other state in Nigeria. I am only saying that you cannot use a yardstick of long expressway that is being recently achieved by a previously arid state in Nigeria to compare to a megalopolis Lagos that has already achieved such road networks decades ago. If another arid state in Nigeria begin to implement such infrastructure as this one in Akwa-Ibom decades from now, would you then berate Akwa-Ibom government for not having a comparable newly built road even when such had long been achieved as celebrated now? |
MetaPhysical:Why are you looking for Tinubu in a place he has already clarified he never attended? You always end up confusing yourself on your own topics, so I will leave you to continue aimlessly. It seem to me there is some benefit you derive from such self-entanglement, so please carry on. |
MetaPhysical:You always end up confusing yourself on your own topics, so I will leave you to continue aimlessly. It seem to me there is some benefit you derive from such self-entanglement, so please carry on. |
otipoju:When you say built, you need to remember that Lagos is both a state and a city. It is a megalopolis and cannot be compared to states that need to connect their different villages together. Tell me the part of Lagos that needs such a long stretch of newly built road without any sign of human existence along the stretch? What a megalopolis Lagos needs is maintenance and expansion for the existing roads as was done for Lekki-Epe expressway, and new bridges and flyovers to ease bottlenecks and cut down travel time, and such were done in Tinubu's regime also. Inner access roads including those that were never previously tarred continue to get attention from all the previous governors of Lagos, including Tinubu. |
otipoju:You are obviously speaking out of ignorance. I remember seeing roads like this during Tinubu's tenure. He started the cobble stone roads allover Victoria Island in a road resurfacing drive, to help cater to the beach soil condition in that area. I remember Akin Adesola Str, Adeola Odeku Str, Ajose Adeogun Str as some of those touched. I remember how marveled I was at the quality of the job done while internship hunting in 2007. On the mainland, he also revamped Oba Akran Road in Ikeja which was my daily route to school in the early 2000's, Oregun Road (Kudirat Abiola), Ijeshatedo Road in Surulere where I sat for my JAMB UME in the early 2000's also, are some of the many roads that featured in his achievements leading to re-election in 2003. Funny you should mention Power as a priority. Guess who tried to overdo himself to ensure there was private power generation in Lagos when others still waited on the federal government? It was Tinubu who had that foresight and engaged Enron to come into Nigeria to develop Power generation for Lagos State, but the Obasanjo/PDP led federal government would not allow an opposition party Governor ridicule the federal government by succeeding where they had every intention to fail. So they frustrated the initiative. Tinubu had many firsts that went beyond roads and power, but also simple governance initiatives like returning all missionary schools siezed by the 1979 to 1983 class of democratic state governments and better manage the true public schools, to initiatives and ideas about State vs Federal Government power separation. Lagos State under Tinubu became the template to be copied by other states who needed to setup State agencies to better deliver and manage public service to the citizenry. All the mentioned and more are the reasons why I wholly believe that Nigeria should give the city boy a chance to lead Nigeria. |
amuwo1980:What do you hope to find there when Tinubu himself has already said he did not attend the school? The school was only listed due to clerical error from the 3rd party that filled his candidate forms with INEC for the 1999 elections. He obtained his bachelors at the Chicago State University, and they have never denied him. So why waste your time going to a place where the answer is already known and admitted to by the dramatis personae? |
MetaPhysical:If your comprehension wasn't defective, you would have understood some of the explanations you have already received and not ask this stupid question that mocks your own sanity. Tinubu's 1999 forms were filled by a party member in the Alliance for Democracy (AD), as there was little time to beat the INEC deadline seeing that the AD gubernatorial primary was conducted very late in the political calendar. The clerical error came to light after he was already elected. He never submitted any tertiary education credentials from University of Chicago, only from Daley College and Chicago State University. Neither did he ever claim any qualification he did not acquire, as such the clerical error never afforded him any undue advantage. Both Daley College and Chicogo State University have never denied he is their alumnus - rather they are ever proud to associate with him. So stop diagracing yourself as you always do with the tribal threads you always create without the sound knowledge to counter the sleeping dogs you awake. |
Elidrisy20:She's Yoruba. |
