Nice expose. |
SnowJay92:My opinion about him being dull stems from the fact that he did not have a water tight allegation, and also has no evidence of his own that he delivered his memo to the presidency. I do not support any side, but I only flow with the crux of the argument and what evidence each side has been able to supply to support their respective position. As such, I tilted towards Kachikwu, but Baru has managed to show that as per the contract approval issue, Kachikwu doesn't know what he is alleging, more so the fictitious values he put on some of those contracts which NNPC has clarified as creative imagination. |
Hahahaha! Anyone who associates with a terrorist group will eventually find their lives at the mercy of same terrorist group. Goodmorning all "moderate Hutus". |
gtrader:But Kachikwu has not alleged that any money is missing a la Sanusi. Kachikwu is alleging that due process that should involve his approval, was not followed in awarding contracts and redeployment of personnel within NNPC. NNPC has since responded with facts to show that Kachikwu's approvals were not required and that the approvals they require were lawfully obtained. They also managed to prove that Kachikwu invented figures for some of the contracts he mentioned, as no value was placed on those recurring contracts. NNPC also managed to prove that Kachikwu was not sidelined in some of the very matters he claimed he was sideline. Stop putting words in Kachikwu's mouth, as he never claimed money was missing. At the end of the day, Kachikwu only cried wolf and blemished his own image. |
SnowJay92:If he doesn't know the rules and regulations of NNPC, is it the knowledge from being a VP at Exxon that will enlighten him about NNPC? See how Baru has schooled Kachikwu on the matter of $25B contracts. That shows you the difference between a man who knows the system inside out having grown through it, versus a man who has come at the peak of his career in another organization to come learn the modus operandi of a different organization. |
SalamRushdie:You must be reading from your hateful heart. How come Kachikwu could not provide an acknowledgement copy? Then when pushed to the wall, he claimed he sent it to Daura. Kachikwu is dull and he only embarrassed himself publicly as being ignorant of how the NNPC operates by law. |
Pidgin2:You are an ignoramus. Was that not the statement credited to a Northern PDP stalwart when Jonathan was seeking PDP ticket for the 2011 elections? Stop spreading false information. Rule 8. |
Did he stop being president because he delegated Osinbajo in acting capacity? |
kindklemz:Is there any difference between Northern almajiris and Eastern almajiri? IPOB truly helped to unveil the hidden idiocy that was already an epidemic in the SouthEast. |
kettykin:Court case because you reveal the factual past of a politician with hard and incontrovertible evidence? Are you sane at all? OP, continue in your noble duty to inform the electorate about their supposed leaders. What manner of human being agrees that her race are all ugly, just so she can suck on banana? |
EFCC is not the civil service to decide whether the laws and regulations that govern NNPC operations favour Baru's stand or Kachikwu's stand in this debate. Let the respective relevant authorities (BPE, office of the HOS) clarify the already existing regulations and contradictions that each party is making their respective stand on. Ultimately, Buhari's grip on the Senior Petroleum Minister position, has created some of these conflict we currently have. If he was formerly ignorant of the consequences of his de jure position, he has now become well informed. Kachikwu knows he is the de facto petroleum minister, so Baru too should not rely too much on technicalities to sideline him in the affairs of the NNPC. As for allegations of unilateral appointments into NNPC, that should be thoroughly investigated too. Too much attention was put on a phantom missing funds by PDP, allowing the real matters of the memo to be swept under the carpet |
SalamRushdie:Are you also one of those who deny their education and embrace ignorance, in a bid to win an argument? Are you one of those looking for monies that nobody claimed was missing? Are you one of those who having seen the facts released by the NNPC, would rather hold on to ignorance so as not to admit defeat? |
An ignorant Femi Fani-Kayode, claiming to know NNPC and the oil industry more than the industry stakeholders? This dude should learn to shut up on matters where he is clearly ignorant. |

The information you seek was already reported yesterday. https://www.nairaland.com/4105966/maikanti-baru-responds-ibe-kachikwus |
Omofunaab2:Bros, this wickedness too much ooo. Please show some mercy. ICC and animal rights must reprimand you for this assault on a baby pig. |
1wolex85:Yepaa! |
I have long maintained that this matter is strictly about power tussle. On the matter of the contracts, Baru has clearly shown he has the respective laws and regulations in his favour. On the matter of redeployments in NNPC, Baru has only done what Kachikwu also did when he was GMD and got the approval of the minister of petroleum (Buhari) just like Kachikwu also did when he was GMD. To cut it short, Kachikwu as chairman of NNPC board, has little influence as the board is not reposed with much power as erroneously assumed by Kachikwu. Both parties should sheath their swords while Buhari should let go of the petroleum ministry and let Kachikwu function effectively. Both different parties can contribute their quota to the development of the oil industry. Kachikwu should dare not resign. As for PDP zombies aimlessly looking for $26B that was never claimed to be missing or embezzled, maybe Reuben Abati is now a disciple of Lai Mohammed |
vineyardfarms:All you have stated was done and all approvals came from the expected authority. Kachikwu did not read the rule book to understand what powers the NNPC board had versus what powers the NNPC tenders board had. Baru has brought out facts to disprove all of Kachikwu's allegations, without whining that someone hates him because of his religion or tribe. |
The GMD said both the NNPC Act and Public Procurement Act vested procurement powers on the NNPC Tenders Board, the President and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) depending on the cost threshold, stressing that the NNPC Board had no role whatsoever in the process.Kachikwu should apologize for not having his facts right, and move on. In this power struggle, the GMD has the laws in his favour. |
akosanwafo:Her father played no role at all in any coup. |
Fineman87:I am satisfied with how the federal government resolved his madness. But I am unhappy that the SouthEast governors are yet to rehabilitate misguided youths like you, as promised. |
dokiOloye:Does Kanu sound like someone who is sane enough to be engaged in any discussion? What of the legal problem of his bail which the government wanted to challenge after he repeatedly and wantonly breached the conditions? He threatened to march 2 million of his supporters to Abuja and commanded them to burn down the country once they hear he has be arrested (lawfully). That is not the kind of person anyone in the sane world would dialogue with. Most importantly, he wields no constitutional authority to demand for any political dialogue. The only power he had was his singular vote, just like you and I. He is constitutionally recognised as representing himself only. |
dokiOloye:What you have said is very true, but must a government watch and allow anarchists burn down the country? Would a sovereign Biafra tolerate such? |
ninocia18:You are the one aimlessly looking for missing funds. Kachikwu never said funds were missing. He only challenged the authority of the GMD to approve contracts he felt fell under his own financial approval. The GMD and NNPC have since provided evidence that they got what they consider by facts to be the necessary approvals before such contracts were awarded. Hence they are saying they do not need the approval of the NNPC board that Kachikwu heads, and they have provided their factual evidence to support their own position in this argument. No money is missing, no stakeholder ever claimed such, and yes contracts have been awarded. |
Kachikwu truly used his own hand to fall his own hand. Kachikwu despite being the previous GMD of NNPC, did not fully understand how the NNPC functions as regards to contracts and procurement. Kachikwu should just apologize for brewing a storm in a tea cup, and everyone moves on. However, Buhari needs to fully hand over the ministry to Kachikwu, to stop all this unnecessary conflicts of authority. |
Kanu is an affliction on those who have the misfortune of associating with a mad man. |
libertyhope2017:Most Fulani and Kunuri speak Hausa as their tribal language. Does that make them Hausa? Most Igarra in Edo speak and bear Yoruba names, but they tell you unlike the Akoko-Edo, they are not Yoruba. All the same, my initial post was to correct the wrong assumptions of the poster who called Delta old East instead of old West. |
libertyhope2017:Many Northerners talk in Hausa, but that doesn't make a Fulani or Kanuri or Tiv or Igala to become Hausa. |
dionflex:It was old Western region from pre-independence and post-independence before it became Midwest in 1962. So I am right. |
Bede2u:But Delta that has one of the SS governoships is not even old Eastern, but old Western Region. As for Wike who is Ikwere, the Igbo debate ensues. |
Indeed it has been, and very disappointing I must say. |
Kanu is Okanlawon! He has received the baton from Ojukwu and has outrun every living thing he has encountered on his way. As Jonny Walker keeps walking, Kanu also keeps running. |
