Now that the executive is "sanitising" the other arms of the government (Senate, House and now Judiciary), who will now help us to clean the headquarters of corruption, the executive itself. Because every Kobo stolen by the other arms are released by the executive.
Last page For those supporting the recklessness of this government, remember your last support during the general election, how have they put you right. Just be patient, it will soon get to your turn. Whatever you permit increases. |

bigtt76: If your wages is commensurable to your job and position, is worth the properties, then why not. These judges are not paid in dollars or forex so what are they doing with these cash? Their lifelong salaries are not up to one tenth the amount recovered.
Please while we condemn the manner in which this raid took place, we should also be careful in encouraging the victims. Hope you know they were first lawyers before becoming judges. Remember how much Osinbajo declared before becoming a VP which he earned through his legal practices. |

ElsonMorali: No we are not breeding a monster. We already have bred the monster. It is now fully grown and has made life hellish for Nigerians. It is call corruption.
I'm quite sure that the Vice-president who is an eminent lawyer and a SAN and has practised for donkey years will not stand by and let his government commit such a grave atrocity.
I'd rather trust his expertise on the subject matter as well as the battery of lawyers at the disposal of the president than someone on a faceless forum such as Nairaland. (Pls no offence).
Here's a major question? Are you saying that there are no corrupt judges in Nigeria? If here are what has the disciplinary arm of the judiciary done about them all these years?
Are we to continue like that? If you read the details of the emergency declared by NBA today, you will notice that the DSS has no business on the subject matter. NJC has punished many judges and it is constitutionally empowered to discipline erring judges. Have you ever heard about court martial? Why do the military investigate and disciplines their members when we have police and DSS? Rule of law must be followed. No matter how good intention PMB may have, we must do things right. On VP, I do not envy him, his case is like when a doctor is not allowed to treat himself or his immediate family because his judgement at that time can not be trusted. Like I said during the election campaign, Osinbajo will not be around when serious decisions are taken, he will be sent on an errand to represent the President somewhere like he is being used now. |
Politics › Re: Judges’ Arrest: NBA Declares State Of Emergency by thunder74(m): 6:24pm On Oct 08, 2016 |
DSS now plays the role of NJC to discipline judges. Nigeria don enter one chance. We warned them but they refused to listen. It is turn by turn, they will soon come after the NBA itself. |

Abuleoshi: Keep quiet you this wailing wailer. You were there when all this conspiracy was planned? DSS has come out to clear the air on Justice Ononoghe, but you are here talking trash. When DSS tracks you and put you in an underground cell, human rights groups will start making noise, but when you were on Nairaland talking trash, nobody talked of human rights. Better be careful before we trace you and drop you in our underground cell! We are monitoring Nairaland.com because alot of lies are being peddled here. And some ignorant people get high on these ethnic-religious lies that constitutes breach of National Security. You guys should better be warned. Don't toy with National Security! Don't know we now have Ben Ten on Nairaland. Sorry, I thought I was quoting an adult. |
Politics › Re: Femi Fani-kayode Condemns The Raiding Of Judges Homes By DSS by thunder74(m): 6:12pm On Oct 08, 2016 |
ElsonMorali: Maybe. But that would probably apply to personal misconduct and not outright crime.
It is a crime to solicit for and/accept bribe. I hope you're aware. And the judges are also subject to the law. Last I checked they don't have immunity.
What happens if members of the NJC are also complicit in the crimes?
Who watches the watchers?
That's why the three arms of government are there. To balance themselves. Buhari is now the almighty who watches the watchers? If it about corruption or any other misconduct, NJC is legally empowered to handle it. There are stages and steps that must be followed. We can't build the morality of a Nation on only one man's sentiment. We are breeding a monster. |

ElsonMorali: I can't help but be amazed by the immense stupidity andtotal lack of sense by those condemning the current arrests going on.
Are you all saying that the judges are above the law and they can't be arrested if they breach the law they are supposed to uphold?
Nigerian education has really gone to the dogs. And I'm assuming all these folks here actually have been to school before, even if for a minute. Judiciary is the 3rd arm of the government and it has its cleaning machinery. You saw how judges were disciplined by NJC some weeks ago and if you have any allegation against a Judge or a lawyer, we have NJC and disciplinary committee of the BAR to handle it. |

TheGoodJoe: The searches have uncovered huge raw cash of various denominations, local and foreign currencies, with real estate worth several millions of Naira and documents affirming unholy acts by these Judges... DSS
In one of the States where the Service operations were conducted, credible intelligence revealed that the Judge had Two Million United States Dollars ($2,000,000 USD) stashed in his house.
When the judges collected Bribes and destroyed the law, where was Fani Kayode's voice. The same person who stood side by side and watched the past administration rape this country did not cry out.
Please, FFK, you are part of the problem.
I pray Nigeria becomes great because the corruption sunk too deep. DSS now plays the role of NJC to discipline judges. The appointment of the next CJN is the motive. Since the next man is not from the North, Buhari is looking for reason why Justice Ononoghe will not be. Soon something will link him to all these raids and corruption. On the alledged $2M, thought they said they were prevented from arresting the judge and the money, how did they know the exact amount that was there. They needed to give you figure and big figures for that matter to keep you busy and support their evil agenda. They said much more during Dasuki and till date they are afraid of coming to court to proof their own case even when the accused said he is ready. |

They should also investigate a bank (First Bank) that removes N1.00 per N1000.00 withdrawer from your saving account after three withdrawer limit on your account monthly and call it maintenance charges. Despite the fact that you will be charged interbank transfer fees of N105, sms fee, N50 on every deposit above N1k, you use your internet, with a token you bought from them. In August they deducted N16k from my account and last month September they deducted N2K in the name of maintenance fee. Planning to sue them as soon as I am ready sha because it is a day light robbery. How can you be deducting the money I saved/kept in your care and have never given me interest before. |

blackpanda: The question is: what do u mean by "restructuring"? Do u mean the disintegration of nigeria? Reschuffling of fed/state powers? Opting for regionalism rather that creation of states? Opting for paliamentary govt rather than presidential?? Opting for unicameralism rather than bicameralism??
This is the problem with nigerians. We just join the band wagon to use words which we have no clue about. That how many were crying for deregulation, and now that govt has deregulated fuel is now 145, dollar is now 445, and the same people are crying foul. Pls lets be patient rather than rush into irrational and unhelpful options that really make no sense. People shout and scream just to be heard even if they don't understand the reason for the noise. When they are shouting change, it was also the bad wagon syndrome without looking at where were and what we want to change to. If Nigeria is restructured, Buhari appointments will not favor only the North, our security appointment will not be in the hand of only the Northern Muslims, everybody will be carried along. No leader will surround himself in Aso rock or any other national place with people from his religion or tribe. You can predict what happens to B if you have A result. This in my opinion was what the last National Conference achieved. |

arresa: The man was indicted almost 2 decades ago and never brought to justice under 2 PDP administrations and they did nothing, no arrest, no trial and no jail. and it's this new administration that's keeping mum?
16 years of PDP did not have access to the so called white paper?
The looted funds belongs to the people of cross river state so why didn't they pursue the matter with arrest, trial and jail or even petition for action.
If there is such indictment and white paper, then this administration should move fast and act. So all the people Buhari is prosecuting for corruption stole the money under APC? |
