Krasid: Me using consistent in that context was to show Greatihex that Hazard isn't consistent if he led Chelsea from 1st being the best player to 10th being anonymous the next season, thats why I added 'indeed' at the beginning of the post to emphasize that I was referring to his post whilst using the word. For the umpteenth time read his post before reading mine.Anybody with an above average IQ would understand this.Your English teacher must have had a torrid time when you were taught figures of speech. And he is still quoting me! Well at least there is a positive in this quote. The last mention I was low IQ, now I am average IQ. Who knows, in the next quote, I may achieve that almighty high IQ. Greatihex gave you reasons why Hazard have been consistent over the years: from been YPOTY to POTY to appearing in PFA team of the year almost every year. You choose to ignore all that but rather focused your attention on being the star player in a Championship winning year to 'consistently' leading Chelsea to 10th position. Your English teacher must have had a very smooooooth enjoyable time teaching you words and meaning. (FYI I don't need any emoticon for you here. Your IQ is very high so you'll understand.) |

Krasid: Don't quote me anymore if you don't understand sarcasm, and don't just read my posts without reading the post I quoted.I reiterated that hazard was inconsistent, but the person I quoted said he is consistent. Thus, the reason I sarcastically said 'indeed, he consistently led Chelsea from 1st to 10th'.The only mistake I made was not using an emiticon to make low IQ individuals to understand. So it's now sarcasm? When you were busy defining consistent for me you didn't know your initial post was sarcasm abi? lol... BTW you're the one that needs to stop quoting me if you don't know which words to use in what contexts. |

Krasid: Consistent: always happening or behaving in a similar, especially positive way... What I meant was that his incosistent performances during the 2015/16 season was one of the reason Chelsea finished 10th.Answer this, was Hazard's 2015/16 season anywhere close/similar to his 2014/15 season in terms of performance? Oga these were your exact words: Krasid: Indeed. Consistently leading a big English team like Chelsea to 10th in the league and out of the UCL.Goodbye fanatic. Let's go by your definition of consistent 'always happening or behaving in a similar way'. How many times in recent years have Chelsea always finished in 10th position in the table? Because your earlier comment implied that Hazard always or consistently lead a big English team like Chelsea to 10th position and out of Europe. How many years have Hazard played for Chelsea and how many times have Chelsea finished 10th? Ok if you claim you are referring only to 15/16 season, the question is, was Chelsea 'consistently' in 10th position? Remember your definition...always happening or behaving in a similar way. We all know that Mou left us in 16th position, 1 point above relegation zone. Hiddink came in, steadied the ship and took us to 9th position at a point before we finally ended the season 10th. Tell me how Hazard consistently led Chelsea to 10th position in 15/16 season please. |

Nihilist: Timbros you can't be serious.
You must be trolling.
You can't be seriously suggesting that we ignore their performance over the last two seasons and instead judge them on their last 4 hours of football...
I will just pretend I didn't read that... Trolling? lol...at least I said God bless you. And you didn't respond to that. Do you know how much Renato Sanches would have cost Bayern if they went for him AFTER this 4 hours of football? Do you know how many players this 4 hours of football have changed their value either positively or negatively? Do you know how many scouts sitting in the stands during this 4 hours of football identifying transfer targets? Whatever happened to 'current form'? So if Chelsea wanted to sign any of those two strikers (which is where this debate started sef), the scouts will start looking at 2 seasons ago and overlooking current form? Wait Nihilist, should we compare both players based on EPL and Serie A separately and overlooking Euro 2016 where they both played IN THE SAME TOURNAMENT? Seriously? Na wao.... @ibime...I don't need to respond to you anymore because I don't want to type nonsense your way anymore. Thanks. |

Nihilist: I can see that Ibime has given you the right answer.
Again, if you give Courtois the number 9 Jersey today and play him upfront, will you call him a rubbish keeper when he fails to score?
Afterall Petr Cech also used to play as a striker and scored...
When you look at it this way, you will realise how ridiculous your statement sounds.
You're saying Lukaku is a rubbish striker because he did not score from the wing.. when compared Sturridge who is a striker and scored from the wing.
timBROS - respect that last part of your name na? Again don't compare keepers and outfield players. Cech never made ANY professional appearance as a striker. He has always been a goalkeeper. Outfield players can interchange wings before a game ends, goalkeepers can't do that. There is no way Chelsea can give Courtois number 9 jersey to play as a striker, no matter the emergency. But we have seen Azpi play LB for years now even though he is a RB. Essien played virtually all the wings in Chelsea before he left. How many goalkeepers does that. From open play, strikers can fall back and make touchline clearances to save a goal. How many keepers from open play join attack to score a goal? I am right to compare Sturridge and Lukaku because both of them are strikers who played part time winger in Chelsea. Every player is unique so don't expect everyone to have the same body build. When Malouda-Drogba-Anelka was scoring for fun in Chelsea, did Anelka stand in the 18 yard box with Drogba because he was a striker too? Wasn't he drifting in from the wing to score? Why must Lukaku's case be different? Drogba with his wrestler body build, don't he drift to wing sometimes receive ball and score? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 11:56am On Jul 27, 2016 |
Nihilist: It's ridiculous to argue that playing a player out of position should not affect his performance.
Like Ibime pointed out, 130 minutes on the wing spread out across 10 appearances is hardly grounds to criticise Lukaku's lack of goals for Chelsea.
Wingers are mainly about transition play and assists, not goalscoring. If you argue that Lukaku should have scored from the wing because all outfield players can score once in a while, then why can't I expect Cortouis to score once in a while when the likes of Rodrigo Ceni have scored 100+ career goals as keepers, and Chilavert used to take freekicks.
Judge Lukaku as a striker and not a part time winger, and you will see that the boy is a very very good striker. Oh really! Wingers don't score. They only assist. No wonder Hazard, Willian, Schurrle, Pedro, Salah, Joe Cole, Robben, Duff and all other winger we have/had cannot score! They only assist Costa, Drogba and other no9s. I'm interested why you guys dodge the Sturridge comparison. Isn't Sturridge a striker? Wasn't he a part time winger too in Chelsea? Didn't he score? Is his case different from Lukaku's? And stop sounding ridiculous in this your goalkeeper comparisons. How many goals did Ceni score from open play? Strikers can even make saves (a goalkeeper's primary job) from open play but can the reverse be said of a 'keeper? Just stop that comparison. It's starting to sound childish. |
