Good morning everyone, it seems like the idea was warmly accepted.....I'm going to set the ball rolling as was suggested . I'll nominate someone when I'm through.

Hi everyone, I've been doing a little bit of thinking for the past few days and I thought about an idea.

The idea is meant to encourage us while we wait and also give this dying thread a little bit of rejuvenation.
It's very simple, we would nominate people to tell why they want to study a certain course in OAU and what has been their motivation so far .

They would do their best to paint their dreams and aspirations using colouful words and expressions.I know it's not everyone here that would like to share something that private but looking on the bright side, you would encourage and influence people, you would also learn from others.

I know this idea may seem rather corny or jejune, or even childish but that's the point, only children can enjoy the colour in life.

What do you guys think? Lemme know your thoughts, then we'd nominate someone.

Religious studies is clearly different from Theology. Theology is restricted to christian religious studies while Religious studies is basically the study of all religions i.e the study of Judaism, Janism, Buddhism, Tradition, Christianity, Islamic etc. Religious student must be ethno-centric and neutral i.e they have no religion because they study all religions.

Looking at it from that angle of explanation, Religious study stand a better chance than Theology. U can be a theologist even in church. Some churches do that. However, there is nothing like Theology in OAU except CRS which is synonymous to it....

...wow, thanks for the enlightening contribution but I'm still a lil bit confused because according to Webster, theology is the study of religion, culminating in a synthesis or philosophy of religion, especially of the Christian religion.
The reason I'm asking this question is because a professor of Theology complained that universities don't have theology departments anymore but religious departments.......*confused*

Please, what's the difference between religious studies and theology....If there's a difference, does OAU have a theology department?

According to olumorinmoses, he went there to complain, they told him that only predites can be admitted with GMP because they are institutional students. 1)I have so many times been told that oau easily goes on strike and the academic calendar is slow.
Is this true What are some reasons why it is so?

You have heard it all, OAU is on of the best schools around but only patient individuals can study there without being frustrated....
My advice to you, let your judgement be based on what you really need; an exceptional school with a frustrating calendar or a good school with a very fast calendar?
