Johnwills: Yeah... Its kinda question. The bearing of Abuja from Ife is 070' and the bearing of Sokoto from Abuja is 363'. If the distance from Ife to Sokoto and Abuja is 303km and 70km respectively, find the bearing of Ife from Sokoto. bros, 363°...na temperature? ![]() |

davidmascot: But why are you so keen on "employment" Life is more than studying at OAU even more than the Bsc you acquired from Harvard University.Hahahahahahahaha,God knows, I've tried ![]() |
dejii01: I won't lie to you oh, school is a very determinant factor in the labor market, trust me. For example, I have a relative who was seeking for a job in a federal polytechnic, he did his OND in the fed poly ado ekiti and HND at crown polytechnic. He was offered a job but they cut his salary grade to that of an OND holder. Why? Because they said they don't recognize crown poly. This is a poly accredited by the federal government.I cannot deny the fact that you know what you're talking about, there is that discrimination of Polytechnic graduates by firms but I wasn't talking about that at all, I was talking about universities. Let's approach this with an unbiased mind and reason for the sake of truth alone, I can bet that I love and respect OAU as much as you do but the fact remains that at the time of employment, the university you attended is not much of a determining factor. If you walk into a commercial bank today, they have a higher number of graduates from private universities. You might argue that government ministries feel more comfortable working with students from Govt schools and it's true to a level but the key factor here is who you know and how much of a "coded" person you're. Am I now saying that schooling in arguably one of the best schools in Nigeria is a waste? No!There are very big advantages. I wrote this long reply just to make everyone that sees this to actually stop falling for childish sentiment about schooling here and not schooling there. What matters most is God's grace and hard work.OAU doesn't guarantee automatic employment, I know "freakishly" intelligent people from OAU suffering from unemployment and under-employment.I also know of students from state schools working at Chevron. Anyhow e go be sha!!!!OAU still remains the greatest!!! ALUTA CONTINUA,VICTORIA ASCERTA!!! ![]() |
davidmascot: I love nigerians we know how to console ourselves. I see your writeup as an excuse for failure, but let me tell you, don't let anything hinder you from becoming your dream. Try again later.*sigh*Thank you very much for the encouragement but I think you misunderstood me. I'm an ex-predite, and a proud to-be student of Great Ife, chemical engineering is the course. The point I was trying to make wasn't to discourage anyone or cause regrets but I'm stating a truth that would have helped many if they had known.Too many are under the delusion that they would just finish from OAU, walk into a firm and get employed, hence many have forsaken many opportunities from other good schools . It's really nothing but childish sentiment. |
moyes5757: it is oo I dnt no abt u buh 2 me oau is worth every minute of every day I'm at ome nd I knew abt d tym delay nd I still picked oauI used to think so too but I've observed some trends in this current decade.I know you love the school, we share the same love for the school but the facts must be faced;gone are the days when companies and firms used to consider what school a person went to.Employment in Nigeria is based mostly on the grace of God and a few supporting factors like result,IQ,and charisma. The bitterness of this truth doesn't make it less true. If you think otherwise, please state your reasons. |
babysmart: tenx ma broI'd have chosen a different school ![]() At the end of the day, the school you went to isn't a very prominent factor in our labour market. The important things are your result, charisma, intelligence, connections and the grace of God.I know OAU is a great school but is this sacrifice of time worth it? |
babysmart: yes na...i think dis is d first tym i'm seein ur comment on dis thread...k i will call ya...so aw is it goin...as per hols? It's been as boring as it gets but we have to wait. There is no use crying over spilt milk,if only i was better informed before now.....anyway, expecting the call. |

firstEVA: Because the guys who are already dating have refused to focus on their datesHe said "she started striking up conversation", maybe you should read what the OP said again. |
SPSpecial: Mummy Dafe did a great job. People like her are very rare.Yes oh!....As the yorubas say"ogboju loja aiye".Even though Daniel didn't go about things the right way, he did what the average African man would have do. Let's face facts, not many us would have gone on to marry her.I don't even know what I'd have done.Nice one keeping it real, bro. |
This is one of the most factual works of fiction I've read. I love the fact that unlike the average Mills and Boon, you have really depicted the cold, harsh reality called life that we all live in; Elizabeth is barren and that's that! No miracles, love that about the story. ![]() I was really happy to know that you wrote this work.As you rightly said, romance is usually read by mostly the feminine sex and I think you'll strengthen your followership by delving into other genres, thriller perhaps. From this work, you've already shown us your wise outlook about life hence we need a work that would capture people from all works of life, we want more female authors coming from Africa, people with a story to tell.We don't want to keep being represented by not-so-worthy people. We want wonderful role models like you. Finally, I believe you have the talent and so far, you have worked hard enough to keep this dream of yours alive. What advice can I give someone like you again? Lemme go with the cliché"if you can dream it, you can achieve it" I know you've heard that severally, but if you open your mind more to that truth, you'll see that anything is possible. Signed, Timmy. |
I've been a read-and-run reader for far too long so I decided to come out of my shell, I mean.......is this story compelling or what!? ![]() I've never been one to believe in love as "chemistry" or "emotions", it has always been a thing of decision and decision alone for me . Unlike other romantic fictional works, this story could easily pass for a true story, the emotions and characters are unimaginably real. I thought I had finally understood love, thank you Prettyspicey for making me believe once again that "Love is too big for us to study and understand, thank you for making me believe that romance exists and it only thrives in the heart of true love and sacrifice. To the author: Please, as much as you can, try to use this your gift in front of the wholeworld, Nairaland and Blogs really seem too small for such talent . The sky is your stepping stone! Signed, Timmy. |
Love is patient and kind.It is not jealous or conceited or proud. It is not ill-mannered or irritable or selfish:love does not keep a record of wrongs, love is not happy with evil but is happy with truth.love never gives up and its faith, hope and patience never fail. We all have religious conditionings and can't see eye to eye on many issues, the solution is not trying to trump or out-do each other with everything at our disposal.I'm sure if some had arms and could see each other there would be bloodshed. If you are reading this and you know and honestly know your religion is better, you would show it through love and not endless bouts of insults.....keeps me wondering who will even make the heaven BUT THEN, what do I know?........Love is all I know and want to keep knowing |

Been following this thread for a really long time now and I must say, some peeps have done a really nice job in preparing us.I just decided to chip in this lil bit of inspiration as I've been tryna kip myself inspired seeing that we still have a lot of hurdles to cross and evidently,a lot of us might be discouraged and eventually give up during this period of hammering, moulding and re-shaping..... It's just a series of old quotes from some of my favourite authors, even if you don't really believe in quotes, just read for the purpose of entertainment. "Everyman who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself,to multiply the ways in which he exists and to make his life full, significant and interesting" "Whatsoever thy hand finds to do,do it with all your might for in the grave where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor dreaming" "A honest man is the noblest work of God" "Wear the weight of learning like a flower for knowledge is power" "If you shoot for the stars, you might hit the moon" And finally"if we commit ourselves to reading thus increasing our knowledge, only God limits how far we can go in whis world" Congrats to everyone once again.....LET'S GO DERE!!...... |
pwresh_bawz: kinda willi willi scared!!!!me too |
Pls......we all learn,tell me how I'm nt making sense @Troll.....and I'll put myself in order,tanx ![]() |
Yes I also agree that love would be found in nature But if you want to say the supposed creator is in totality the definition of love, then we can also say: It is God's love that has made millions to starve in Africa. It is God's love that cause earthquakes and tsunamis which kill thousands yearly. It's also God's love that allowed Africans to be slaves I could go on and on you know.
We live in a broken and fractured creation, take it or leave it.That's why we all have a sense of justice, this sense and desire for justice cannot be quenched by the petty justice here on earth. That's why Heaven is there......Any other question? |
If you're not just being prejudicial......Plssss read this book"A case for Christ by Lee Strobel".....it's a converted agnostic lawyer's investigation and report(D book was written with an open mind).....D book's really powerful.....You can also read "one heartbeat away by Mark Cahill" |

Just wanted to say 1 thing.....with everything around u so called atheists....u still believe there is no God.Saying the human brain wasn't designed but "happend"because of evolution is like saying a dictionary was produced after an explosion in the a paper industry.....When u see 7cups aligned in a single row,u already know dat there is an orderer, when u see a rolls royce car engine,u knw dere must b a creator....yet,u belive d universe is an accident!!!with all it's grandness and design....I want u all to knw 1 thing and I'll lyk u to admit with me,it takes as much faith to be an atheist as it takes to be a Theist.I dare all of u saying there is no God.Go to your rooms, close the door behind u and just ask God to reveal Himself to you.Do this if you're not scared!!I rest my case here knowing I have no power to convince you, only God will!! ![]() |
