Politics › Re: Ohaneze Warns Igbo Not To Be Part Of The Hardship Protest In The Country by Timoleon(m): 9:51am On Feb 20, 2024 |
Watianoengineer: This is one of the reasons I don't pity the south east when they shout marginalization. They are not patriotic at all. Every region in nigeria is protesting the unbearable cost of living but they will rather sit down and look. If the protests works and the prices of goods and services come down they will buy cheaper goods from the market and reap where they did not sow. Peter Obi that they see as a messiah is worse than failure. His record in Anambra speaks volume. We will keep teaching you people political lessons Your current president is teaching everyone a lesson on how to fail woefully. |

samuel9000: Why would they protest, they are enjoying now. 3x sales 3x sales in which economy? How? When people had more purchasing power, businesses didn't post 3x sales. Is it when people are eating just once a day that businesses would now be posting 3x sales? A beer parlour while selling beer at 350/400 had barely moderate traffic/customer, now beer is about 1000, that beer parlour will now 3x sales? E make sense to you? It shows you own no business. Most businesses are posting losses. Increase in price of many commodities does not often translate to increase in profits. To make things worse, there's hardly any increase in income for many people so how they'll increase their spending is dumb thinking. The truth is that no protest can change the price of anything in the market. So anyone deciding not to organize such is right in that regards. A spontaneous revolution whose momentum is sustained by the majority's desire for change and not some organiser and mobilizers is what can bring about what this country needs. Within the present institutional framework and setup, all we'll be getting are different handlers and same results |

Firstly, this government is a continuation of the previous government. The excuse that the actions of the previous government are distinct from this is false. The principal of the present government counts it as his achievement that he single handedly made Buhari the president of Nigeria. He was also the 'National Leader' of the party.
Secondly, it was obvious that the previous government was terrible so the next leader ought to be one who will salvage the situation. What we however have now is a government that has compounded the problems of Nigeria. For each hour of excuses, more Nigerians fall into poverty. |

That's too many billions lost...why are they still in business? Perhaps these losses are manufactured because it is certain that the next financial year will result in more losses when you think about the current state if the economy. Fewer and fewer people are able to sustain their purchasing power. Yet cost of production is increasing by the hour.

zegeijuwa: I was a devoted member of a church in Dubai, a city I just arrived. responsible for projecting Bible verses on the projector during service. One day one of the pastors called me and asked me to book a hotel for a visitor, a request I was glad to honor. I booked the hotel with my identification document. Later that day someone called to ask me how much I was given, I asked what he was talking about. He told me the hotel I booked was used to wash money for a Saudi client who paid heavily. That could have sent me to jail for a very long time or even cost my life, Saudi national. God said me, no one asked me until today. The next church service my colleagues called me and I told them my name is Bolt, Usain Bolt. Nice line. The name is Bolt Usain Bolt! |

ValCon888: These are needless, unnecessary deaths. The FRSC has to make it compulsory for trucks to secure cargo with harnesses as its done in a sane society.
The government should also pass legislation making it a criminal offense for heavy-duty trucks to carry cargo without adequately securing the truck bed.
These are the types of law the government should pass but they're busy trying to ban social media and sports betting that's the only hope of the common man. The law exists. This is a collision accident, it says so in the very first line of the article. Even in the USA, thousands die yearly to truck accidents. Every happening in the country should not be an indictment on the government. |

And we all know what that means 99% of nairalanders have very low mental capacity. It's often easy to feed them with propaganda. That's why the entire forum reeks of petty bigotry and idiocy. This is how they confuse you. Instead of posting the entire conversation, they pick their own interpretation of half a statement and post as the entire news. Look at the body of that 'article'. No quotations to show the exact words of Putin. Nothing to indicate what the conversation is about or what Putin responded to. No source as to where and when he said so that people may verify and get context.
They don't open people's head to put propaganda Inside o. Many times, they just give you half or sometimes outrightly wrong information and allow you spread it like wild fire |
