Politics / Okorocha To Igbos: President Buhari Needs Our Support by tinziemaine(m): 10:10am On Sep 17, 2015
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has urged Igbos to support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari rather than to antagonise the administration over its recent appointments. The governor who was speaking to press men and women at the Imo state government house, opined that Ndigbos should focus on strengthening the All Progressives Congress in the South east zone ahead of the 2019 general elections. “Appointments are the prerogative of the President and it should not be over politicized. Rather our prerogative should be how to attract projects to the Southeast. Our people should not antagonise President Buhari but come together under the APC as a national party and be in the mainstream of Nigeria politics,” Okorocha said. The governor also denied insinuations that he was at logger heads with APC leaders in the zone saying, “we are one big family and we are working together to achieve the party’s campaign promises.” About a week ago, there were reports that Bola Tinubu, the national chairman of the ruling APC, had a clash with Okorocha over one of the ministerial appointments of President Buhari. Meanwhile, both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party has said Okorocha should be held responsible for the fate of Ndigbo especially as it affects their inability to secure any appointment so far in the administration of Buhari.

Celebrities / Nollywood Actress Caught Smoking & Drinking On Movie Set by tinziemaine(m): 10:53pm On Sep 16, 2015
Controversial Nollywood actress, singer and
a born-again Christian, Anita Joseph, has
shared photos of herself smoking with
friends.
Anita’s colleague Sophia Chikere shared the
pictures on her Instagram page. The ladies are on
the set of a new movie in Asaba
According to Anita, life of an actress is “a queer
life because there is no privacy. Everything you
do and say is made public. Any man you date is
published on the pages of magazines/
newspapers. It is a life that lacks privacy. Though
interesting, there are times you don’t want to
have your pictures splashed everywhere. I sing, I
am a model and I’m sexy. So many people say
lots of negative things about me. I am not
bothered. I have grown a thick skin. It only makes
me stronger because I didn’t do those things”.
Anita had revealed that she has tattoos in six
parts of her body: back of her palm, waist, top of
her boobs, left leg, neck and arm.

Celebrities / Area Boys Reportedly Harass D’banj by tinziemaine(m): 10:29pm On Sep 16, 2015
D’banj was reportedly attacked by area boys last Saturday, at Tin Can Port, Lagos.According to the Entertainer he showed up for a video shoot in a Toyota RAV 4 with registration number KJA6158BE. According to eyewitness accounts, as soon as the area boys laid their eyes on him, they demanded he settle them with cash but before he could speak a word, they deflated his tyres! Knowing he could not overpower the area boys who numbered over 50, D’banj disembarked and they had escorted him to an ATM where he withdrew an undisclosed sum to settle them. However, the area boys refused to disperse and stripped him of his wristwatch and other jewellery including his shoes. They only shifted ground after police men came to his rescue. According to an eyewitness who spoke to Entertainer: “I’m so excited, D’banj came to Tin Can Island to shoot a video and guys saw him. They burst his tires and held him hostage. He had to embrace every one of them and later he took them to an ATM where he withdrew some cash for them and shared among them. I love D’banj; it’s good to be a star.” dasort.com/2015/09/16/area-boys-reportedly-harass-dbanj/

Politics / PDP Responsible For Buhari's Delay In Appointing Ministers by tinziemaine(m): 3:51pm On Sep 15, 2015
The Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for President Muhammadu Buhari’s delay in appointing ministers. According to Daily Post report, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, the publicity secretary of the party in the state attributed the delay to PDP’s 16-years of misrule, maladministration, unprecedented corruption and mismanagement of state treasury. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 15, in Akure by Adesanya and made available to newsmen. The publicity secretary described PDP’s wailings over the delay in the release of ministerial list as unnecessary, diversionary and unfounded. READ ALSO: APC Replies PDP Over Statement On PMB’s Economic Policy He explained that the APC inherited a virtually empty treasury and a battered system from the Goodluck Jonathan led-PDP government and it would take time to repair the damages. “It is logical for anyone who intends to make a nearly-collapsed building habitable, to first demolish it and then lay a solid foundation before building on it,” Adesanya added. Buhari’s minsiterial list has been an issue of concern for some time now. Report recently surfaced that the president had submitted a list of 36 ministerial nominees to the Department of State Services (DSS) for screening and at least 20 of the candidates had already been vetted by the agency. A list of the supposed ministers was circulating online. Reports that Buhari had sent a list of those to be appointed ministers to the DSS, reportedly caused heated discussions among top APC bigwigs and personnel at the party’s national secretariat on Monday, September 14.

Celebrities / How I Escaped Death On Stage –ras Kimono by tinziemaine(m): 3:07pm On Sep 15, 2015
Rub-a-dub master and reggae music legend, Ras Kimono has been a vegetarian for the past 35 years and is one of the artistes that dominated the industry in the days when reggae music held sway. Together with his Massive Dread Band, Kimono released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 1989 to wide acclaim and his single, Rum-Bar Stylee became an instant hit, transforming him into a household name overnight. Today, with seven albums to his credit and still counting, Ras Kimono says he has no plans to retire in this chat with Entertainer. He also debunks social media reports that he and Rainmaker, Majek Fashek are at loggerheads. Excerpts: What have you been up to lately? Well, I’ve been in the studio working out new stuff with my brother, Orits Wiliki, which should be out this year among other things. How many albums do you have to your name and which would you say sold the most? I have seven albums. I can’t tell which sold the most; this question is meant for my record company because they are in charge. What kind of a father would you say you are? I’m a listening father. I’m down to earth with my kids. I’m a father who provides the needs of his kids and when I can’t, I explain to them and they understand. Your daughter, Oge Kimono, is also into reggae music at a time when it seems to be fading away, what are your fears for her? Nowadays reggae music is on the rebound. It’s on every radio station in Lagos State so I have no fears for her. Is there any beef between yourself and Majek Fashek? There were reports on social media that the both of you were at loggerheads. No, none so ever, he’s my brother. Do you think Majek will ever get his groove back? Most certainly. I speak to him every other day. He’s in rehab and when he comes out strong and better, we’re going to have concerts. Today, the live band seems to be dying. As a live band veteran, what do you think is the way forward? When I came back from the US, I started shouting about it. I said fire burn every man who says we should pay to go watch his CD performance on stage. And Lagbaja also spoke against it but right now, the society has found out that it’s a rip-off. Nobody is going to pay to watch what you could listen to in the comfort of your home. What’s your take on hard drugs? Fire burn hard drugs takers. We rastamen complain about it; if you touch hard drugs it will deal with you. Have you had any embarrassing moment? Sometime ago, I had a concert and I was jumping on stage and I think the wood wasn’t so strong so it broke and I fell. But thank goodness because Jah protected me and I wasn’t hurt. And another time I was running on stage, I fell down and had a summersault. It’s so bad, I could have died.

7 Nigerian Collabos That I Know
Will Totally Rock
Ever wondered what a mash-up of your favouritemusic stars would sound like when paired upinto collaborations? I have too, and that shallowmusing finally got me here, on this post about 7
Nigerian collabos that I’m sure… or is it that I
know? Okay wait, that I think… yes think, will
totally rock. Actually I’m damn too proud of all
the names I’ve assembled here and they’ve
worked themselves up to this point where they
can hone their musical prowess having
surpassed those good ol’ days of success in boomlets.
Enough talk!
Now action.
1. Cynthia Morgan x Burna Boy
Asides my imagination already telling me that
this track will be a fire bomb, you also get to findout that reckless cockiness can be made good for things such as this. Who knows better to givedance hall music a multi-dimensional treatmentthan Kingston Property‘s Cynthia Morgan in alink-up with Sabi Boy, Oluwaburna? If there everwas a time for Morgan to wear her brazen selfand without apology, it would be here and trust Burna Boy to always come through with his vocal swag… in Yoruba pidgin!
2. Burna Boy x Seyi Shay
Can you blame Burna Boy for his shades of
awesome? This will be the second of his female
features that I am certainly looking forward to. I
know Seyi already gave us Murda, but then with
this guy? Oh boy, creativity will be reborn as
there will be healthy doses of lyrical ingenuity,
vocal showoffs and… you know what? Just
forgerrit, this will be some kain dripping swag
madt stuff! There better be a video too ‘cos I’m
definitely not the only one who wants to see how Seyi’s thirst troll will wear perfectly on dear
Burna Boy’s hotness.
3. Seyi Shay x Don Jazzy
Ah! This is one collabo that excites me. Ms Shay
is one very versatile songstress, proving herself
time and time again that no ‘one box’ can hold
her. Don Jazzy on the other hand, has shown
with positive inputs and results that they don’t
call him a don for trivial fun. These two are
skilled to relish, and diversely so too but their
vantage point would be that studio where they
decide to lock horns and unleash some circus
magic acts from their oga and madam Sabinus.
Wow, I think I just might have found the title of
their track!
4. Don Jazzy x Pasuma
Did you just laugh out loud? Well think again.
Since trying his hands on hip-hop/pop influenced songs, Pasuma raised the stakes in his game and has excelled to particular delight. All the talented fuji-pop star needs now is to hook-up with producer extraordinaire, Don Jazzy and create an epic evergreen sound in the pop/high life genre that bridges musical frenzies in the South West and Eastern ethnicity… of course with the
Doroboss lending his signature baritone tenor.
5. Flavour x Yemi Alade
Can you think of anybody else’s song that sends
you into a dancing fiesta like Flavour’s and Yemi
Alade’s? Hey, stop thinking! This synergy will
help to sharpen creative ideas like danceathons,
which all them rap competes have almost
succeeded in stifling out. From energetic
synchronizations to locomotive gyration and
impeccable vocal skills, Flavour and Yemi are a
perfect par and they sure need to remind us
again how well we should celebrate the proudly
African heritage.
6. Asa x Timi Dakolo
Okay, I think we’ve played around enough for a
bit. Time to get some serious bi’ness done.
Individually, these soul music legends are worth
more in calibers than my riveting writer skill can
do them any fitting justice. With these two,
music always has a meaning and their synergy
owes us a classic piece with a never-before-heard sensation, the kind that reorients our minds. If they choose to keep it on a low, then you know that they’re launching into the deepest of deeps and if it’s way up, they’re reaching for the bluest skies.
Please go figure!
7. Reekado Banks x Wizkid
I forgive all of you that compared my dear Reeky
Tom Tom to Daddy Bolu. Although their artistry
may share quite some similarities but thank the
stars that they sound nothing alike. Yes, they
actually don’t. The other similarity they share
would be that they’re small men who are crazy
in love for really big things. And because they’re
consistent with pro-balling at their turf, it’s
become a wonder what their hit banger would
sound like. No stressing, it’ll obviously be about a Salewa and her massive ‘baka’ but I’d love to
hear it still.
And finally, I would be smoking skunk if I didn’t
list these two…
8. DAVIDO x WIZKID
This is pretty much the biggest and most
anticipated collaboration of the Nigerian music
industry. I dare say! Some of us even live for
things as such to happen. I also think all the
parties involved have come into knowledge of
the blossoming effect of it’s happenstance,
which further explains why they’ve let us remain
in limbo land. Having said, Wizkid and Davido
can either continue to form like they’re cool with
beholding the presence of each other or they
could just get in a studio booth and literally give
themselves an acid bath with all the
hydrochloride stored in the barrels of their
hearts. Now, that’s something I wouldn’t mind
living for!
Oya, as is our tradition, you guys should tell me
those collabos you’ve dreamed of that you know
will totally rock. Who’s going first?
