To cut it short, dis family atends sunday service in chosen church,atends cros over nite in MFM church every month end, and shiloh at livin faith yearly.

I tink its awkward to atend multiple churches. Stick to one at a time

I'm having issues understanding what that means exactly. I think I understand the inordinate enjoyment sexual pleasure part, which I believe is unregulated, uncontrolled, excessive enjoyment of sexual pleasure, it's the disordered desire for sexual pleasure that confuses me. Now I know wanting to have sex outside of marriage is bad, but where I'm confused is the sexual pleasure portion. What is that exactly? Hypothetical situation, let's say that you're walking down the street or watching t.v. or a movie and a beautiful woman catches your eye, would it be a sin to look at her and enjoy the pleasure it gives you

In the Gospel, Jesus says that Mary has chosen the "better part" by choosing Him rather than choosing household chores like Martha.

My question is, how can we be Marys? Are there any encyclicals or Magesterial documents that outline how much of the day should be spent with Jesus?

While we may often times argue that changing a diaper with love is "prayer" or being with Jesus, I do not doubt that Martha had the love of God in her heart while doing chores and yet, Jesus says Mary chose the better part.

It is inevitable that you may have to spend more time on less important things I.e Mass is more important than lunch, yet we need lunch every day but don't get to church that often.

How do we strike a good balance?

Someone told me the other day that Catholics are idolaters because we kneel in front of statues to pray, which means we are worshipping the statue.

I told him that meant kneeling by your bed to pray is worshipping your bed, and praying at the table before meals must be worshipping your food. That actually helped him understand that you aren't always praying to whatever is in front of you, and I used the opportunity to tell him that we worship God, but we simply ask saints to worship God on our behalf.

Of course this individual was not converted, but I honestly think he has more understanding of our faith than before. I always find it useful to use humor to get people to see your side of an issue. I just thought I'd like to share that, and see what others have experienced in issues like this.

What do you tell someone who accuses you of worshipping statues?
