My guess was right on. On that long break from NL, you were getting in touch with you inner atheist.
Everyone has his or her inner atheist, when reason tries to overpower the primitive parts of the brain.
You have successfully conquered you fears to question your long held beliefs.
Bravo. You are brave.

I must say that I feel privileged to have witnessed the evolution of a former religious nut to a rational , introspective, enquiring human being.
Evolution from homo religilous to homo sapien sapien.

frosbel:
I want to correct some charges that have been brought against me by many religious people on this forum, suggesting that I am an atheist for debunking their myths and contradictions.

I am not an Atheist.

Of course there is God but I am sincerely beginning to doubt that he is the God of the Christian religion.

I have found out that almost 80% of what I learnt as a Christian is either an outright lie, a frabication or a heavy dose of scripture twisting.

Most of you know how fanatical I was a few years ago , fighting for the trinity , hell fire, Virgin birth etc . Well ever since I embarked on a crash course in bible history , it is only God who has prevented my faith from crashing.

No one who reads the truth will deny that there are fundamental issues with a lot of bible stories and scripture. To suggest otherwise makes one a liar and participant in the misrepresentation of God's truth.

I agree with the overall message of the bible ( for there are many truths therein ) , but I cannot agree that it is word of a God when taken as a whole. This is just plain fallacy. Yes , God through his Spirit speaks to us and agrees with the truths he has revealed without which almost everything will become suspect.

I am still learning and now reading a book titled ' The Authentic Gospel of Jesus ' by late Geza Vermes, Professor Emeritus of Jewish studies at Oxford university. He was a former catholic priest. I am also an avid reader of articles by Bart Ehrmn Professor of Religious studies at the University of North Carolina. Bart was a former Evangelical Pastor.

What I have discovered is shocking and not for the faint hearted.

To be honest , I don't know where my quest and thirst for more knowledge will take me , sometimes I am scared, but this search will continue and my results will be shared wth you my good friends and of course enemies on this forum grin.

In summary , I am not an atheist and can never be one , not in this life or the next.

I am now an unfundamental thinking believer of Yeshua or Jesus.
YOU ARE NOT YET AN ATHEIST

BUT YOU ARE BECOMING AN AGNOSTIC CHRISTIAN

ONE GOOD THING ABOUT YOUR SEARCH IS THAT IT WILL MAKE YOU TOLERANT ,LESS DOGMATIC AND MORE REASONABLE

Christianity Etc › Re: Christian Parents Should Teach Their Kids About Atheism by tobechi74: 2:56pm On Dec 21, 2014
plaetton:
It is not offensive. It is a lie that your children will easily see through.

With all due respect, I think you are making the typical Christian mistake by deluding your self that your children will think like you and adopt all your worldviews. You are dead wrong.

You ignorantly forget or chose to ignore that Christianity's biggest nemesis is Reason, not atheism.
Your children are 100% guaranteed to come into contact with Reason, and will make s choice whether to embrace Reason or reject it. The odds are that they will likely embrace it.
This is the general trend that has been slowing going on over the past 300+ years.
African is just slowly catching up with the rest of mentally sovereign humanity.

The problem with most Christ-tards is that you ignore reality and isolate your selves in your delusional make-belief cocoons.
By identifying atheism as your threat, you are showing a repeating pattern of denial.

Here, as always, you have chosen to fight an in invisible enemy, rather than face the inevitable firewall of Reason that becons you, as well as all when who approach the age of Reason.

So, your thread, if you are sincere, should be appropriately titled ; How To Protect Your Christian Child From The Onslaughts Of Reason .
Mr, the aim is to pre-inform the kids before they meet a diferent view so as not to be taken unawares.

The fact is NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH. WE ONLY CHOOSE TO BELIEVE WHAT WE CHOOSE TO BELIVE BASED ON WHAT WE RATE REASONABLE TO US.

TELL THE CHILD UR BELIEF AND THE BELIEF OF THOSE AROUND HIM. AS HE GROWS,HE WILL CHOOSE FOR HIMSELF WHAT TO BELIEVE.HE COULD DEVIATE FROM PARENTS BELIEF .IT IS HIS CHOICE.

HE SHOILD SEE THINGS FROM BOTH PERSPECTIVE SO THAT HE WILL BE MORE TOLERANT AND UNDERSTANDING WHEN HE ENCOUNTERS THEM.

As a kid,he should assume to be an atheist and argue with me on atheism. He would do same for theism.

This will build his ability to reason and argue reasonable too.

Romance › . Are Ladies Supposed To Do The Searching Or Just Wait To Be Found? by tobechi74(op): 12:15pm On Dec 20, 2014
*.are single ladies supposed to do the searching or just wait to be found / searched out?
*.are single ladies supposed to go out and find their ideal man, or they should just keep on waiting for different men to come along, out of which they’ll finally choose which one is their ideal.
I then remembered the passage of the Bible which says: “Seek and Ye shall find”. I suppose those Words do not apply to only “spiritual issues” or perhaps just to daily needs like food, clothing and shelter.
It also crossed my mind, that in some Christian Churches, women are supposed to take the back seat – with so many Bible verses usually used to back up the ‘keep quiet and be sober because God created you as a woman’ doctrine.
But I also remembered that from the little stories we(I) heard, in the days of our parents, t’was the men that did the searching. In fact, for some of them, their parents did the pairing together(bethrowal / child marriage), and these kids grew up to understand that “she is my wife”, and “I will marry her when we are huh years old”. I wondered if our grand-parents knew the definition of “Falling in Love”. Perhaps they did / didn’t, since their own parents might have bethrowed them to one another. So the cycle could have continued on and on.

whats wrong if a single lady does the searching? whats right if she doesn’t?
your opinions are welcome. And just in case you have a story to tell, we are all ears.

YOU LOOK SEXY" IS AN INSULT
Ladies,do you always feel happy when people see
the way you dress and say you look sexy?
"You look sexy" is not a greeting, it is not a
compliment, it is an insult.
They are telling you, you are good for sex only,
they are telling you you have something good
under your skirt, but nothing tangible under your
Cap.
They are saying you are a bed professional,
bedroom expert and nothing more.
They are saying your greatest asset is under your
pant, what an insult, never allow anybody to tell
you, you look sexy again, because that simply
means they are saying you are boys toy and guys
pleasure tool, sex symbol and not a great
personalty, not somebody to be respected.
They are simply saying you are closer to been a
prostitute than to been a Virtuous, quality and
exceptional woman. So always dress to look pretty
and beautiful, don't dress to look sexy.
Queens and FIRST LADIES don't dress to look
Sexy, they always dress to look beautiful, adorable
and pretty.
But BED LADIES will dress otherwise because like
whores their value and biggest asset is in bed.
Always remember that good product are always
well covered, branded and well packed, but
worthless product are always exposed for all dick
and harry to see, make yourself valuable, cover up
girl, let your daughter be proud of you in future,
stop been object of Lust and passion.
So when you are dressing tomorrow morning ask
yourself, am I dressing like a FIRST LADY or like
BED LADY, let your dressing answer for you

28. Contrary to the general belief - the biggest unifying factor in Nigeria is not football , but “Crude Oil”. Now note this: The very moment crude oil (in significant commercial quantity) is discovered in the North, that day will mark the beginning of the North’s agitation for a breakaway from the entity called Nigeria.

29. The Nigerian constitution was deliberately flawed and crafted to benefit the North.

30. Strangely, for a nation with vastly more ethic nationalities situated in the South, it is rather suspicious that Nigeria is divided along just regional lines – The North and the South. Now, of course,we all know which region this strange dichotomy favours.

Politics › Re: Why Notherners Arent Stupid by tobechi74(op): 11:55pm On Dec 13, 2014
19. An “instant enemy” of the northern region is any appointed public officer (especially a female one) from the south who has the temerity to oppose their common cause. Or, one that is standing as a clog in their continued dominance in the Oil & Gas/public sector. Some southerners gleefully and ignorantly join in the attack on some of these public officials.

20. Poverty, ignorance, lack of education, religious bigotry and fanaticism, etc are some very powerful tools needed to effectively manipulate/control people. The Northern oligarchy is very aware of this. Hence, their manipulation of the masses in the north (using these tools) for their selfish interest.

21. Of all the regions, the North is the least supportive of resource control, Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), and the entrenchment of true federalism. The South finds nothing suspicious in that.

22. It is unbelievable to believe that some WISEMEN (in a certain political party) from the South were party to a bizarre arrangement for “power shift” or “power rotation” between the North and the South – when, clearly, the south is home to 2 major ethnic groups and - by far - more ethnic groups than the north.

23. The North offers the most opposition to the privatization of public (government) institutions. Opposition to privatization is principally to prevent the likely disengagement of their largely unqualified members. (BTW, till date, some people still earn salaries of close to N1m monthly from the comatose NITEL. Now guess what region most of these people are from? Note:This fact is verifiable.)

24. The South produces the crude oil (Nigeria’s economic mainstay). However, amongst the regions, the North owns majority of the oil blocks, oil prospecting (OPL) and oil mining (OML) licenses.

25. Northern leaders (political and religious)have never come out, unanimously, to publicly condemn the menace of Boko Haram. Southern leaders (political and religious) that publicly condemn the methods of Boko Haram attract criticisms and are described as self-seeking or seeking attention/relevance.

26. Political power means just one thing to the North – control of the nation’s economic mainstay (Petroleum resources). Little wonder they are vehemently opposed to the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB

Sadly,80% of Southerners who see this article will not read it!
Note:This article was not developed to ascribe to the entire Northern Nigeria the selfish antics and machination of a few individuals who belong to the region. It would be unfair to do that. Also, this article was developed not with the intention of causing incitement…

13. To the Northerners - the census exercise is not just a statistical evaluation exercise. Instead, it is considered a key political exercise. Meanwhile, the Southern folks see census exercise as a temporal job opportunity for its largely unemployed undergraduates. In the words of Chief Festus Odimegwu (recently resigned Chairman of National Population Commission) “There has been no credible census in the country since 1816 because of manipulations”,Punch Newspaper, 18 October 2013.

14. When it comes to regional unity – religion, politics and language are the common uniting factor for the North. Southerners(especially the South-Easterners) are never united for any course. (Oh, well, Soccer sometimes offers some measure of unity among the Southerners!).

15. The North is the region with the least education, least resources, least development and pervasive poverty – yet, they have ruled Nigeria for 37 years out of the nation’s 53 years of independence.

16. Only the North understands the logic behind establishing a national refinery (the Kaduna refinery) thousands of kilometers away from the point of extraction of crude oil.

17. When it concerns the north, a new standard is always invented. For else, how does one explain how Sani Abacha – a near-midget –escaping the “standard height” rule of the military. Even, rising to be president.

18. The North conceived and sold the “Boko Haram” concept as a pointer to the fact that the South is incapable of ruling the country. The South has wholesomely bought the idea. “Yes, automatically Boko Haram will disappear if the north gets the presidency by 2015. I am sure”. Excerpt from the interview granted by Lawal Keita (2nd Republic Governor of Kaduna State) to the News magazine (October 2013

Sierra Leone said Friday it was banning any public Christmas celebrations as the spiralling caseload of Ebola infections continues to spread alarm.
Soldiers are to be deployed throughout the festive period to force people venturing onto the streets back indoors, the government’s Ebola response unit said.
Palo Conteh, head of the department, told reporters in the capital Freetown there would be “no Christmas and New Year celebrations this year”.
“We will ensure that everybody remains at home to reflect on Ebola,” he said.

Politics › 6 reasons Atiku failed Primaries by tobechi74(op):
Alhaji Atiku supporters nationwide awoke on december 11th to find they had been defeated in the APC primaries.
In the aftermath of wednesday's primary election, the adaawa state man should learned a hard lesson about taking on the presidential ticket under the APC.

1) Political Prostitution doesnt pay

If politicians expect to be taken seriously, they must stay the course and show that they are not in politics for their success alone.
moving from one pary to a of di is a sign of disloyalty. Tinibu remained in oppositon party for a long time despite pleas and threats to lure him into ruling party.

Going back to the same party one finished running away from signifies a confused person. I am sure Atiku was the reason the bond was initiated. Delegates feared he could decamp to PDP if he becomes president that is why electorate shunned him like he had just confessed to peeing in the village well.

2) ones personality is very important

Gmb is known for his disciplined and rigid nature and his anti-curropt.this is why he is belived to be capable of fighting corruption.

Atiku has no legacy except for numerous corrupt allegation.

3) WATCH YOUR WORDS WHEN DEALING WITH YOUR BOSS.

Atiku made negative remarks about PDP when he left. Such words were used against him when he returned.
never criticize your boss
sometimes,it is late to apologise. Atiku made lots of attempts to reconsile with obasnjo which proved futile.
APC delegates knoe that Atiku could insult them afterwards

4) No leadership performance
GmB had led nigeria in the past. Hisperformance in petroleum sector, kick against indiscipline and jailing corrupt suspects are his legacy.
What is Atiku legacy?

5)modern politics is not all about the money

Ikedi Ohakim opened imostate account to bribe imolites for their vote. Imolite collected the money but voted for rochas Okorocha.
Delegates did the same to Atiku.

6) APC is about change

Atiku was part of Obasanjo regime. If he couldnt change the country as vice president, why would he now?.Apc wants a changer.

Alhaji AtikuThank you for taking a risk and putting yourself out there as a viable candidate. Thank you for recognizing your strengths and giftedness and your willingness to use those for us. Thank you for giving us a choice, a good choice, for the position being filled. Thank you for wanting to make a difference.

Just because you weren’t elected or selected doesn’t change the significance of your heart, your desires, your passions, your abilities, your skills, your intentions, or your dreams. It merely changed your plans

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being in love which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. St. Augustine, Captain Corellis Mandolin
