Christianity Etc › Fifteen Signs Of False Humility by tobechi74(op): 10:16pm On Aug 31, 2013
So how can we tell the difference between false humility and true humility? Let me offersome suggestions

Fifteen Signs of False Humility:

1. Uses Religious Terms to Justify Cruel or Questionable Behavior. But a humble personrefuses to use spiritual-sounding words as a smokescreen for sin.

2.Preoccupied with Self. But a humble person is as actively interested in others as in himself.

3.Listens to Others Only in Order to Speak into their Life. But a humble person listens toothers with loving interest and with an expectation to learn and grow.

4.Admits Small Sins but Ignores Major Sins (Image Control). But a humble person admitssin and also receives an honest rebuke no matter how lowly the source.

5.Inability to Laugh at One’s Self When Others Do the Joking. But a humble person sees the humor in his own paradox of sin and sanctification. He can laugh at his own expense, because he knows that his worth is based not on impressing people but rather in the reality of being loved by God.

6.Publicizes Her Own Sacrifices to Impress Others. But a humble person avoids broadcasting her sacrificial labor.

7.Uses Himself as the Standard for Others’ Performance. But a humble person looks at the life of Jesus as the example, and points people to him.

8.Affects a Humble Tone of Voice While Saying Proud Things. But a humble person doesn’t need to affect his tone of voice to sound mealy-mouthed in order to convince others that he is humble.

9.Believes that Eschewing Money or Fame is the Same Thing as Being Humble. But a humble person understands that pride comes from the heart, not from possessions.

10.Professes Love for God and Neighbor butActs in a Cruel Manner. But a humble person is consistent between what she says and what she does.

11.Delights in Debate rather than in Dialogue. But a humble person sees conversation as a two-way street with muchto learn, not as a battle to win or lose.

12.Is Easily Offended. But a humble person isquick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.

13.Believes that Asceticism Leads to Holiness. But a humble person recognizes that sin comes from the heart, not from pleasure.

14.Loves to Impose His Opinion on Others as Truth. But a humble person acts charitablyto all, thinks the best of others, and avoids presenting his opinion on a disputable matter as ultimate Truth.

15.Enjoys Judging Other People. But a humble person hands judgment over to God and instead busies herself with loving her neighbor and serving God.

And here’s a bonus sixteenth sign: people who exhibit false humility spend a lot of timetelling you how humble they are.

Politics › Should Politicians Be Voted Based On Morality Or Competency by tobechi74(op): 2:59pm On Aug 29, 2013
Should we vote for politician based on morality or competency?
I was discussing with a colleage who insists that the morality of a candidate isnt important in his choice to vote. He has no buisness on the personality of the politician. "
"He can be good, bad, etc. Even if video clips of him being drunk, on bed with a prostitute, etc. Even if he had had series of criminal allegation against him all swatched by the lawyers,he doesnt care.
What matters most is his commpetency. Has he proven to revive drowning companies, is his previous record assesment good? As a previous governor(assumption), did he perform excelently well?if yes, he should be voted for."
Though i partially disagree with his stands, i think morality should be considered too. Whats your view?

Logicboy03: Do all atheists talk like that?

Have you read the bible? The provocative bible that insults atheists, unbelievers, homosexuals and women?
Have you seen how your christian borthers talk to atheists.

Maybe you should have your biased lenses checked
you are the one who need lense...read my post i didnt excempt religious ones from this. They are more guilty .

But two cows can't drink from the same pot.they will surely knock horns.two wrongs cant make a right.

Since religious are more aggresive and populous, you atheist should be gentle......

A gentle responce calms wrath but an agresive one stirs it up.

Just as much as i aggree that we religious view atheist wrongly,i think it takes two to tangle

i am not excluding areligious majority wrong here,

the way atheist present their issue is not encouraging. They forcefully try to impose their dogma.

Illustration

how can you stupidly believe in a God you can't see

if God exists, y dont........
Religion brainwashes

all these statements are provocative.you dont convert by force or by call the person names for taking a position different from yours

no matter how stupid our position seems to you, you should be gentle in approach

newton law of religion;to every action, there is an unequal and opposite overreaction

fyneboi79: two weeks ago I got ministered τ̲̅ȍ by a pastor τ̲̅ȍ give my life τ̲̅ȍ Christ as heaven and earth is real.I listened but was still sceptical about giving my life τ̲̅ȍ christ. That same period I met this lady I had been fornicating with some three years back and we exchanged numbers and began chatting again on whatsapp.she has money now, real money and she even promised τ̲̅ȍ give me all I wanted as long as I remained hers for good.Something just didn't seem right though.then last week I had a dream where I saw people jumping down from a ten storey building but when Į̸̸̨ƭ got τ̲̅ȍ my turn I refused τ̲̅ȍ jump.I told a pastor dis dream and he interpreted Į̸̸̨ƭ as a commitment I'm about τ̲̅ȍ make which may claim my chance of salvation.I put things together and knew immediately what Į̸̸̨ƭ was.So I told the lady I was •̸№t interested in what she had τ̲̅ȍ offer and I would rather follow Jesus Christ at this point in my life and then I went back τ̲̅ȍ the pastor and said my acceptance prayers and let go every atom of bitterness against my fellow man.
story has no begining no ending no middle.
