You like to be the one asking questions but not answering when asked. All the questions I have asked you, not one you answered. I stated a fact (about Urhrobos being the largest Ethnic group in Delta State) gave you Google and Wikipedia to prove me wrong but again you shyed away from that. You always run away from facts. But wants the conversation to be based on "sentiments" and I told you it is illogical to argue on the grounds of sentiments. I give you FACTS, you respond with SENTIMENTS. So we have no bases for a conversation.
Your points are intangential to my point dude, re-read what you posted and my rebuttal to it.

Is that the Ilorin history you read from the IPOB College of History? He paid your Fulani masters 8 million naira to appease them so that they won't finish you guys up like they did in Nimbo, Enugu in 2016, no amount of denial will erase that fact. Bloody cowards
Nimbo happened in 2016, and the Nimbo people took care of the situation, come closer let me whisper it to you (Fulanis were wiped out from the community), and till date there's been no single attack in any part of Nimbo much more Enugu (Google is your friend). You lost Ilorin, and till date you are under a fulani ruling family (no amount of arm-twisting and historical self-consolations) can unhinge that indelible mark of eternal slavery to the caliphate. grin

And if your daft Afonja self wants to believe the Imo state governor paid fulani 8 Milla despite an official statement from the source itself debunking it, then you can knock yourself out over it. Go and reclaim Ilorin back from your Fulani masters, then we can sit down and redefine the true meaning of "cowards."

Meanwhile these are the most recent chronicles- among many others- of Fulani attacks in your region these year alone

As useless as Uzodinma is (the jury is still out on him anyway), I'm definitely sure he won't be that stupid to give fulani degenerates 8 million naira and have the press expose it for that matter (except serious craze dey worry am be that). Mbaise folks are very ruthless, those ones don't tolerate rubbish at all. The Last time Fulani herdsmen trespassed in their communities, na free Suya dem use their cows take organize for community.

Politics / Uzodinma Denies Paying Herdsmen N8m For Missing Cows by Tobrasky: 4:49pm On May 14, 2020
Imo State Government Thursday denied paying ₦8million to herdsmen, who allegedly lost their cows at Ezinihitte Mbaise describing the report making round on social media as fake news orchestrated by the opposition.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hope Uzodinma, Oguwike Nwachuku disclosed that in the said fake news, “the criminals also purportedly wrote that the Governor met with the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) at the Government House, Owerri.”

He said: “Those who generated the obvious fake news also criminally signed off for the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, in a desperate attempt to legitimise their criminal intent and have the buy-in of the public.”

He denied the reports saying this was not the first time the agents of opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would issue such misinformation to discredit his government and cause disharmony between the government and the good people of Imo State.

The statement read in part:

“This is not the first, nor will it likely be the last, time agents of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will criminally issue a statement purporting same to have emanated from the Office of the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser. They did when former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari died and, in their warped mentality and hallucination, renamed the Imo State University after Kyari.

“Again, today, May 14, 2020, the same people whose stock in trade is to disseminate false reports on social media to satiate the appetite of their paymasters have been paid to do what they and their sponsors are good at criminality. Again, they have failed!

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Government of Imo State under the watch of our able Governor Uzodimma does not know what the PDP-sponsored criminals are talking about as regards the purported payment of ₦8m and meeting.

“The Office of the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, therefore, dissociates itself from the purported press release and purported payment, the imaginary meetings between the Governor and MACBAN, and the gibberish associated with the non-existent meetings.

He stated: “While the government is very much committed to a society, where constructive criticism helps to bring development, it will continue to have zero tolerance for people who deploy criminality and subjective criticism with the intention of misinforming and misleading the public.

“It is a shame that the purveyors of fake news on the current Imo State Government have sold their consciences that one wonders if Mac Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and also owner of WhatsApp, will not be wondering if they are under spell.

“On a day Imo people are reflecting and rejoicing over nearly one billion Naira that has been traced to be in dormant accounts in one bank alone due to the recklessness of the past administrations, a gang of PDP-sponsored social media zealots are busy orchestrating fake news, just to divert attention and cause disharmony. What a shame?

“The government of Governor Uzodimma is irrevocably committed to good governance and will not be distracted, not even by the resort to fake news by the opposition and their agents as a blackmail tool.

“The public in general and Imo people in particular should, therefore, ignore every fake news meant to misinform them about Imo State Government activities, more so, as Governor Uzodimma is not interested in telling anybody lies. The era of deceit is gone.

“We also caution the reading public to be wary of fake news materials they are quick to help the criminal-minded propagandists, blackmailers and enemies of development share on social media as doing so will portray them as accomplices.”

Politics / Re: British Did Not Handover Nigeria To Fulani, Nnamdi Azikwe Did. by Tobrasky: 7:47pm On May 13, 2020
You guys attribute way too much power to Zik, are you telling me Zik single-handedly decided the political fate of the whole Nigeria without some support from other regional leaders? there's no way the likes of Awolowo, Balewa, Ahmadu Bello etc were just sitting idly while Zik dominated them in the political scenes. For me personally, especially looking from the hindsight of history, I would categorically state that I never rated Zik at all... I think he was either too nationalistic or too pro-North to put Igbo interest first (that's why as much as we detest Awolowo, he was in fairness a better leader... he very pro-yoruba) he put the interest of his people first, and I respect him for that... Awo today is like a demigod among his people unlike Zik. It's also noteworthy that Ziks NCNC politicking was solely for his personal ambitions not the Igbos. And that's why till date, an Igbo man would rather be on the camp of Ojukwu instead of Zik- despite the fact that the former led a rebellion that led to the death of nearly millions of Biafrans in a war we were not militarily prepared for...that's how low majority of Igbos rate Zik.

Education / 2020 Howard Nigerian Grad Earns Ph.d. At Age 73 by Tobrasky: 7:08pm On May 12, 2020
WASHINGTON – On April 26, 2020, Florence Nwando Onwusi Didigu, 73, defended her dissertation to earn her Ph.D. in Communication, Culture and Media Studies. Her dissertation and future book titled, “Igbo Collective Memory of the Nigeria – Biafra War (1967-1970): Reclaiming Forgotten Women’s Voices and Building Peace through a Gendered Lens,” is a reflection of the Igbo women who, like herself, survived the war. Didigu, who is the oldest of five sisters, is graduating from Howard University with her fourth degree as a prestigious Sasakawa and Annenberg Fellow. She is thankful to have made it across many hurdles.

“In my second year at Howard, and very close to my screening test, I lost my mother and my father within months,” said Didigu. “I had to return to Nigeria each time to perform the demanding burial ceremonies for each. I was completely deflated, both physically and emotionally, but I persevered because my father always wanted me to be a ‘Doctor.’”

Didigu also battled shingles, which paralyzed the right side of her face and she lost her voice. It was symbolic, because its her life's work is to elevate more Igbo women's voices too. “I was unable to speak clearly; this was the greatest tragedy of all, since I was teaching a sophomore research course! The day I started speaking again and was discharged from the hospital was a special life moment.”

Yet, what she overcame 50 years ago, the Nigerian-Biafra War, a civil war between the Igbo people and the Nigerian government, is one challenge she will never forget.

“The day the Nigeria-Biafra War ended, I, like everyone was wallowing in anxiety and fear about what would happen to us as the vanquished. A very optimistic gentleman came over to me and asked: ‘Why are you so sad; can’t you see you have survived this terrible war?’ I stood up, even though the Nigerian Airforce was on its last bombing raid, and leaped up in the air in mad glee, repeating to myself and others: ‘Yes, I have survived, I am a survivor!’ This powerful survival instinct in me, which I call daring, and God’s help, are what made me overcome all personal challenges during my doctoral program and get to where I am today!”

She was once a producer and writer at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and a broadcast regulator at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Nigeria prior to 2000. Upon graduation, Didigu plans to enter the professoriate and become a book author. She recently took courses at Howard in the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program. She plans to continue research and scholarly writings, as well as mentoring students to inspire and educate “the future generation that will move this discipline forward and tackle the communications-oriented challenges of the future.”

Carolyn Byerly, Ph.D., Didigu’s advisor and chair of the Communication, Culture and Media Studies doctoral program, noticed the excellence within her, noting that “she embodies endurance and intellectual determination.”

“I admire the way she delved inside the most painful period of her life to find the focus of her research on women, war and peace. While a personally-driven project, she maintained the highest level of integrity and never made the research outcome about herself. Florence received the Sasakawa Peace Foundation Fellowship in her last year to conduct interviews with 10 female survivors of that war, and she used feminist standpoint theory to interpret their stories. It is a beautifully researched, theorized and written dissertation that demonstrates exceptional Howard scholarship.”

Pazienza,

I created a social group for discussions like this strictly for sound Igbo minds to join and rub minds, so far lots of people have emailed me indicating their interest in joining. I need more intellectuals in that group to foster intellectually-stimulating conversations... it proffers a chance to even reach out to other "Igbo" subethnic groups with identity crisis, they can be added to the group interface and their voices can be heard as well. I appreciate your pragmatism and astuteness in educating our people on here, but don't you think that think it's time we build a better platform for that? a lot of ignorance abounds here, and there's hardly any basis for intellectual contents anymore. Let's leave Nairaland for the ethnic warriors to tear at each other while we take our time and sanity elsewhere.

Bikonu there's a lot to talk about regarding the SouthEast etc.

Join us by emailing me @ BoboNkiti19@gmail.com so I can provide the information/details on how to join.
