Our defence is DEF weakened by the absence of cech. . . .Liv's defence is also shit nowadays!. . .And its at the bridge. . . .Money on Chelsea to win!
It's definitely going to be a cracking game but the UCL fixture's in Liverpool's favour; they play on Tuesday at nearby Florence, Italy while Chelsea will travel to far Greece on Wednesday. Thus giving the Reds more prep time. Don't forget that Chelsea haven't beaten Liverpool at the bridge in their last 4 attempts I think).

It's not the end of the world for Chelsea though I agree with Sauron that they are yet to be really tested. Face it, needing 'extra' 'extra' time to beat the likes of Hull and Stoke (beaten 6-1 and 4-0 respectively by Liverpool) isn't very flattering.

Also pray Cashley is fit to marshal your left flank because the Glen Johnson-Kuyt partnership is just as deadly as the Gerrard-Torres alliance.

E-R-R-O-R!!

Torres---5 goals
Kuyt-----4 goals
Yossi-----3 goals
Ngog----2 goals
Glen Johnson---2 goals
Stevie G------2 goals

So where is all this Gerrard+Torres myth coming from on the evidence of this season's goal stats?

Masch Lucas

Kuyt/Yossi Gerrard Yossi/Riera

Torres

Babel, Agger and Ngog to come in at some point.

Liverpool with a lucky, undeserved win. Leeds did very well indeed.
Nonsense my dear. Class, in football, far outweighs effort. Liverpool didn't play well cos all those players (except Carragher and Babel) haven't got up to 60 minutes of football under their belts this season (not to mention them never playing together as a team prior to this match). Add that to playing an in-form Leeds (undefeated so far) away in front of that vociferous crowd and you get a more unbiased picture.

Thanks for keeping us entertained and yes Carragher and Dossena are shitty! wink

being a fan should not equal being delusional.
Selling Alonso and buying Aquilani has made liverpool a weaker team. It is obvious that Lucas is not as good as Alonso, and Aquilani is yet to play his first game.
Take a step back and read those comments again; silly statements aren't they. Alonso wanted to leave and you haven't even seen Aquilani play for Liverpool. Saying that Lucas is not as good as Alonso is like saying that Nani is not as good as Ronaldo. Also Alonso was not that good at 22 yrs (couldn't make it to the Spanish Team) so give Lucas a chance (at least he's better than Mikel Obi) tongue tongue tongue

Where's Agger? Carragher has been a shadow of himself recently. We scored a set-piece goal against a team utilizing man-marking BUT I don't see anyone here pointing that out. Liverpool had the highest number of clean sheets for 3 consecutive seasons using the same system!!! The system's not the problem; the individuals are.

CAN Gerrard please STOP taking the corner-kickshuh?

Thank God for Torres!!!

Why play Yossi so deep?  undecided
That for me is just a starting formation. Yossi will always roam forward while Gerrard could drop deep when we're defending. Also Kuyt could come behind Torres while Gerrard or Yossi moves to the right. The beauty of these three players is that they can play in any position behind the striker (this strength tore Burnley apart).

But I see your concern, perharps Gerrard should just play MC with Yossi at AM. huh huh I hate breaking up the Torres-Gerrard alliance though!

My line up;

                                           Reina

Johnson             Carra                    Skrtel             Insua

                        Lucas/Masch           Yossi

Kuyt                                Gerrard                                 Riera

                                        Torres

Babel and Aurelio to play at some point. Let's take this game seriously guys. Debrecen is currently on an eight-game winning streak!

I hope this is not another disaster in the making shocked shocked

According to a recent poll from the Professional Football Players' Observatory, English clubs employ the highest proportion of expatriate players, with 59.2% coming from abroad.

Liverpool have the highest percentage in Europe of expatriate players within their squad, measuring 90%.
  sad angry angry
Illusion, I wouldn't read too much into that. We have three English players in our starting eleven (compared with United's four, Arsenal's one and Chelsea's three) with youngsters like Spearing, Darby and Kelly as substitutes. I also don't care if we have to name an all Jamaican team to play good football wink

Hi guys I woke up to some good news today;

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5560433,00.html

As for Debrecen (or whatever), I think it's going to be 4-0 to the Reds (we can't seem to get that 5th goal! grin)
Just hope Aurelio gets to play at some point. Our set-pieces haven't been up to scratch without the bloke. Also give Dossena and Babel a look-in for confidence' sake.

DID YOU KNOW?

1. Liverpool has the joint-highest goals scored so far in the EPL at 13?
2. Have the highest number of shots at 93?
3. Have the second-highest shot accuracy ratio at 56%?
4. Javier Mascherano is the current top passer at 378 passes? (albeit missing a match and subbed off in another?)
5. Gerrard has the highest number of crosses so far at 50?

Who says we are a defensive team?

my only concern has always been the depth of our bench, cos pursuing 4 titles ain't easy. . .at least 40 games per player (excluding internationals). . .  .so having a deep bench is reall important.
I'm sure Rafa will strengthen with a player or two in January. However a bench of:

Cavalieri
Agger
Insua
Dossena
Lucas
Riera
Babel

isn't too shady
also,

Degen, Kelly, Spearing, Voronin, Ngog, Kyrgiakos, El Zhar aren't that bad for certain Cup games. I only feel we should let Babel go.

where are those Lucas' haterz? I swear if anyone disses the guy again. i will e-shoot that person. i get e-gun and it works.

on a serious note, Lucas did well on saturday, hopefully he can continue like that and we can keep beating the 'small teams easily like we did Stoke and now  Burnley. if we continue like this, then i say we have improved.
True.

Most people who senselessly slate Lucas only watch highlights of Liverpool matches. The lad has improved THOUGH I'd have him as back-up to Masch or Aquilani in most matches. He's a true proffesional.
