Canadianfly: Lmao @ capital NO.
You see that's my concern. French is wonderful and all but my kids are American Nigerian citizens and I have a good feeling they'll abandon Canada when they're in their college age to America. So French won't do them any good there. For me, having them learn French is for efizzy things If they're ever interested in international jobs they'll have to contend with trilingual Europeans and Asians. Then the French will come in handy. |

fizzile: @ Tojued...certificate isn't required since the qualification was from UK. They indicated just transcript. Let's not generalise for the UK, let's stop at from your university. All's fine so long as you're in line with what your individual wes account demands. |

fizzile: @Ifeoma77...WES does not require your certificate for evaluation. All they need is your transcript. I am also shocked my transcript has not gotten to WES aswell. My school in the UK said i will take atleast 3weeks for it to be delivered bearing in mind i used standard delivery. This week will be second week Are you sure WES does not require your certificate for evaluation? Please check your WES account properly. Certificate and transcript are both usually required. |

VFUSION: @Tojued I did my medical with IOM in Abuja..They are pretty organized and straight forward. It took a couple of hours though. So for Adults I think it is slightly cheaper with IOM.On the other hand for children it is cheaper with Abuja Clinics..So it depends on what you want..For me I prefer IOM sha..Now with students going back to school and summer coming I figure there wold be quite a number of people there getting their medical.. Thanks for the info. |

koonlay5: I used Abuja Clinic and it was fine. Paid with POS. We were four, and the whole process took about an hour. We were there by 8:30 am or thereabouts. Thanks for sharing. An hour for a family of four sounds very attractive. Plus pos payment... No need to be doing transfer and printing receipt. Abuja clinics seems to have less protocol. You went with only your passports, right? |

Please can Abuja folks be kind enough to share their recent experience of medicals at IOM and abuja clinics? How long it took, was it crowded etc, when were results uploaded etc. Trying to decide on which to use Happy May 1! And for those moving soon enjoy the break, cos if I'm not mistaken, it's not a public holiday in Canada. |

Ask Google and CIC website
Secondly, Does my MCSA Certification count? Was a 9 months course. Microsoft Certified Solution Associate.
use WES equivalency tool (on their website), ask Google, or search nairaland and Canadian visa thread to know if anyone has assessed this qualification before.
Thanks. |

It's always easier to research before hand and get things right the first time, than to succeed through trial and error. Such a waste of effort!
Please let's research before we take that next step, rather than go looking for help after the step has failed.
Finally finally, there is no alternative to reading and self help. I stand to be corrected. The Internet provides us with a wealth of other people's experiences, we just need to benefit from this rather than grope along blindly.
A tailor or mechanic who knows how to use Google will be better than one who doesn't #factoflife. NOUN GST107 (good study guide) introduced me to the term information literacy.
We've gone beyond the age of literacy meaning just knowing how to read. If you're one of those who pride yourself on not liking to read, or you make excuses for not researching, Google up 'information literacy' and move ahead with the times.
If you're not information literate, you're as good as obsolete. Obsolescence can thrive in an analog third world country, but I wonder how it would survive in a digitalesed first world country. For pete's sake, you would need to 'read' just to get alternative bus routes in any developed country!
I can go on and on and give examples, but lemme stop here. |

Sasng7: You are a pR dear ...what you need is to buy health insurance once you land in Ontario. Alternatively you can land in provinces like Alberta that give you immediate access. June is quite close- get your ticket asap. You can't buy health insurance for a pre existing condition like pregnancy. You can't land in alberta and fulfil their six month health care obligation if you were sponsored by ontario. You have a moral obligation to spend at least two years in ontario. Best bet is the thread op has already been referred to. Even though she's PR she has to pay for her delivery etc and that thread can help get the best value for her money. |

sthillz: I think that's why they encourage us to start gathering documents before we get ITA Gathering the documents is actually easier than answering all those questions. Personal history, travel history, address history for both self and spouse. Then the uncertainty of whether you're providing the correct answer or not... Document no hard na. |

luvluvluv: Hello family I think I really need help now. Since over a year av been nursing the dream of relocating to canada but I have not been successful in my solo thoughts
I graduated with 2.2 mechanical engineering from a university here in nigeria. In the past 4yrs av been working in the banking industry.
I have checked possible routes on how to legally relocate but to no avail. I checked the canadian skilled migration rout but looks like my work history must align with course of study wch puts me at a disadvantage.
Currently am married and expecting a baby. I have saved a lot for this travel thing. But my problem seem to be lack of knowledge on different routs to take.
Recently, I was connected to an agent who helped a friend and her family to relocate since 4yrs ago. Agent is in Canada. I spoke with him and was charged up to $10,000 for the option am opting for. Do things like this still work?
Please kindly advise me here coz I really want to relocate. Also, all advices should be dropped here. Tnx Follow this link and save your $10,000 https://www.nairaland.com/4472519/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled |

sunrize: Thanks smslive, I don't have a birth cert, my brother doesn't have either. I have declaration of age. I read somewhere that I need adoption papers to show I am adopted? I don't believe I've come across a similar case on this thread. The issue is, you might not only need adoption papers, but the papers will probably need to be dated the date of your fictional adoption many years ago. Start by finding out adoption process in Nigeria and what papers follow. Ministry of Women and Children Affairs in your state will be a good starting point. you can also make enquiries at any orphanage close to you. |
