Hi Guys,

I worked in Burkina Faso from Nov 2012 to Aug 2013 as a project consultant. But I travelled to Lagos in December 2012 and May 2013 for 2 and 3 weeks respectively, therefore I didn't stay in Burkina Faso for 6 months in a row, the longest I stayed in a row was 4 months.

To my surprise, at the point of uploading POST ITA documents, a second field was created for Police Certificate 2. Could this because it is captured under my work experience as working in Burkina Faso from Nov to Aug and can I use LOE to explain this as I don't have PCC for Burkina Faso? All travel dates are captured in my passport.

Any advice will be appreciated. My ITA deadline is fast approaching.

You can upload an loe under that placeholder for now.

However start processing the Burkina Faso PCC already. There's a strong chance you'll get an ADR for it.

Truth is, in my own opinion you lived in BF for 9 months. In between you took vacations/breaks but you lived there more than six months. Just my opinion though.

While this is good, one should be careful too so that the VO won't think one is trying to play smart. Cos in the real sense, you've not really gotten value of the assumed 200k interest paid until the maturity date of the Tbills investment. This means that, if the Tbills investment is rediscounted (pre-terminated), the unearned interest would be deducted from the face value and the balance paid to you.

Just thought to share my view.

Biko the grammar is too big for me grin

All I know is that if I'm investing 100k @14% for one year, my certificate will have face value of 114k and discounted value of 100k. I don't know any implications of this but as a layman I'll definitely go with my 114k face value if asked the worth of my certificate, No manipulations of the system intended.

Oh Okay... now that I've explained my understanding I now understand your point. Fortunately the VO is also a layman wink

Silent reader and i must say, this group is loaded. I just saw my result and i cant keep quiet anymore. I'm devastated right now. I dont know what i am doing wrong o. Ielts has been holding me down since July. First three attempt is with BC. 1st attempt: LRSW 8.5/6.5/7.5/7. 2nd attempt: 7.5/6.5/7/6.5. 3rd attempt: 8/7.5/7.5/6.5. Applied for EOR this December so i'm yet to get result. Fourth attempt is with MOD 8.5/8/8/6.5. Please what should i do as i'm fed up already. ECA has been ready since September.

Don't be fed up, you're almost there. There's been significant improvement since your first attempt. Please follow up your remark request to ensure it is actually acted upon... Search the thread for email address of BC UK, Cambridge, send a mail to BC Nigeria asking for status of your remark with BC UK and Cambridge in copy.

You could also request remark for this latest result but don't forget to follow up with IDP Australia.

And be on your knees while awaiting your remark. It is a subjective something so Favour and Grace are very real.

Ok. I guess it started with the subsequent transactions and not the first one

It started with the first one o. When I sent instruction, I was asked if I wanted the upfront credited to me now or reinvested. Just try it with your investors next time, ask them that you'll like to reinvest your upfront.

As an aside, for those using Tbills, the upfront interest that you will be paid as well as the invested sum can be used as POF. What I mean is assuming you invested 3.5m and the interest paid to you is 200k,you have 3.7m as POF. All you need do is add the Tbills certificate and a statement of your account showing the 200k and whatever is left in your account.

In your cover note for POF you list/tabulate them and sum it up and you are good.

Depending on how flexible your investors are you can even ask them to reinvest your upfront. That is you'll get tbills worth 3.7m based on your example above. Or something like that (I'm not very good with money).

60,000 naira is 220 CAD. I still think the hack is a hack.

I'm not disputing that it's a hack. Just pointing out the caveat accompanying the hack. Imagine if a family of five with excess luggage take up this deal without being fully aware that they'd have to drag their luggage around Heathrow in-between flights...

Ouch. Really close shave. No time restriction on resitting. You can apply tonight to write on the next available date.

Yea. It’s 30 cad for the first and 50 for the second. Only going with one box, my dad will bring the other.

The inconvenience and need to pay for luggage explains the price difference smiley. In your case your aware and have it all planned out. For anyone else interested in the hack, caveat emptor.

Guys pls i need advice.

I just finished wes and my ielts was also good, so i have created a profile now.

The issue is i want to invest money in something like farmcrowdy because i dont want the money lying in my account.

I would have considered tbills but the rates are not encouraging.

Pls advice me, the duration for the investment is 6months. Can i use something like that as proof of funds.

No you cannot use farmcrowdy or similar as proof of funds. Manage the 12% pa (or higher) interest your tbills will pay you.

Also check priceline.com, I was able to find 700 dollars flight for one way Lagos to Toronto for one adult. Ended up getting an 800 dollar one cos I want to enjoy Emirates.
Hack: it’s cheaper to book a multi city ticket (LOS-LON-YYZ) than one way LOS to YYZ.

You might have to handle your baggage while in transit. Also confirm that you have allowance for 2 bags on the LON-YYZ route.

please o. my AOR was 20th July and up till now nothing. Background check yet to commence. is this normal??

Anything is normal in this process. Are you in any July WhatsApp group? To could also go on immitracker to find out status of those who submitted same time with you.

If you're feeling restless sha order GCMS notes so you know if there's any review required you need to clear up.

Wishing you a speedy application. Your background check can still start today and your PPR will arrive before 31st.

I now know why stories of people using IOM facilitated tickets are scarce. Getting a response from those people is more difficult than getting transcript from lautech.

Both affidavit (the 2k option being mentioned) and notary public (30-40k) are accepted.

Notarising my deed (at a law firm) cost either 5 or 10k. Can't remember exact figure again. I think twas 5k sha.

Heykayxx:
Hello beautiful people. I am going to use this space as my entry into this application process and later, a space for my testimony.

I used the CRS tool found on the official Canadian immigration website to evaluate my profile. Upon the completion of the evaluation, I was invited to apply using a generated code. However, I used a dummy IELTS score. My question is can I still go ahead and create a profile, or should I just write the IELTS in one or two weeks time and then create my profile using my official score?

Second, I should be done with my Master's degree program in the US by Spring or Summer (perfect GPA). Should I wait till then and get my official transcript evaluated before starting this journey?

Another challenge I have is that my Master's program is a bit specialized because I work and take classes in a national research center. The skills I have acquired so far in the US makes me an expert in a field that is different from my previous 1-year full-time NYSC job experience.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Please don't read and pass.

Thank you for your time.

Hello house....
Compliment of the season to you all.

Urgent pls

An agent is asking for 600k for 2yrs visa with work permit and she said it will take abt 8 week to process. Pls is the money too much or too good to be true. Though some guys claims they know the agent that she is trust worthy.

The initial payment of 180k.... The rest to be paid when the visa is out.

Pls is this feasible?

And how much is two year visa? For those that have gone tru this way before pls kindly respond to me

Thanks one.... Thanks all.

Visit Canada.ca and check the types of available visas... Do some Google research as well to find out if Nigerians are eligible for work permits in Canada. Then again, confirm that you cannot apply for such a visa by yourself rather than using an agent. Finally, visit page one of this thread to see if any information there interests you.

I assume your question is about Canada.

Lol at shine your eye. Sorry for my "silly" question but this is notary public abi cos someone just said something about affidavit. My guess is cic only accepts notary...i may be wrong.

Check page one for list of notary publics. Pick those ones in your area. Search Google for their websites. Call them using phone number on their website to see if you can get prices over phone so you make a choice of which to use.

For the emboldened, check page one for link to people who got ppr and what they did... Check out those who used gift deeds to see how exactly they packaged theirs.

Verification can also be sent via courier. This is even more reliable since you can track when wes receives it. @bskyb.

Compliments of the season everyone.

Congrats to all ITA clinchers and all PPR grabbers.

I'd really hoped to share my own PPR testimony before this year runs out, but I think God has other plans.

Does anyone have experience with CIO Sydney, NS as per their processing time especially after your app has been approved and just waiting for PPR mail?

I'm a PNP applicant, called CIC on two occasions and was made to understand that my app was processed at CIO Sydney and has been approved since late November o. The next thing I hear after asking from the agent what the cause of the delay is in sending the PPR mail, is - the responsible officer will contact you in due time blah blah and my app is still within the processing time. AOR is Sep 5.

I heard CIO Sydney is notorious for this kind of thing. Why are they laidis na?

Make una no vex my people. This waiting game just dey make person dey vex sha.

Well, as TEECANN will say, it will end in praise. smiley

Happy New Year in advance

Send mails to Accra, Ottawa and New Delhi VO. Inform that tour file has been approved etc and you would like to reconfirm the status of your application and when you should expect the passport request mail.

No venture no gain.

i understand why you would say that, but the info i gave was posted in the living in canada page, which i presume is a sister forum to this one.

the link is >>>> immigrationcanada(dot)pro/permanent-residence/maintain-permanent-residence-living-overseas/
if you would kindly check the link out you would see thats what it states there, unless if the rules have changed now.

The info is alarmingly incorrect. I don't even have energy to check your source. Even before it became 2/5 it used to be 3/5.
Pls confirm info from Canada.ca or other official sites before sharing confidently. Otherwise attach a caveat to your advice: I think... This website says... Etc.
