ECA : May 2017 for me, July 2018 for spouse

IELTS: May 2017 for me, August 2018 for spouse (on the 6th attempt)

ITA : Aug 22
AOR: September 27
MEP: Oct 26
Update for baby: Nov 8
PPR: February 12 dated 11
No ADR
VO: Ottawa

I was in the pool for one year with a CRS score of 432...... August 2nd.
Long story short I waited and waited and waited.....till my profile expired August 2 2018....

I didn’t have enough to be the PA, my husband did but getting his ECA done and acing IELTS was a mountain....

My husband had done his MBA at Lautech, but getting his transcript to WES was war as a result of the long strike action of the university.
The university was on strike literally all through 2017!

Eventually sometime at the beginning of 2018, they resumed and it took us another 6 months to finish WES evaluation thanks to those who stepped in for us.
Finally ECA was completed in July 2018.

So now, he has his MBA, fantastic! But there is the Ielts hurdle to jump....
Reason is within 2017 to 2018, he had already written ielts 5 times and has given up on it... he would get an overall score of 8 with writing being 6.5 in all 5 instances.

He told me at that point that he is no longer interested but when the ECA finally came through in July, we both had our hope renewed

So on that fateful day in July 2018, I started begging him to take it one last time

He grudgingly accepted, I prayed so much that it was really the last IELTS....

The earliest date available was in 2 days with MOD.. Again, he refused to study that he had been studying for past ones and failing it .... at the point I could only hope for the best..
Long story short...... he got max score for LSRW! On the 6th attempt! What! I was screaming and jumping around
CRS 479!

Fast forward to August 22nd ! ITA

A special thanks to @DonTee0.7 for answering my questions... may God perfect yours

Congratulations!

The eligibility points come into play when one wants to create an express entry profile, right?

I paid $227 to WES Canada on 31/01/19.
There was no time to cross any finger cos I immediately initiated the Transcript process from my UNI (Funaab: I heard it takes forever)

So on 5/02/19 I paid another #10,437.82 into the PG-REMITA account (I'm evaluating a Masters degree). With another standby #10,000 for the UPS courier guy once the transcript is ready for lifting (I heard the yellow officer at PG school spends the courier cash and then call you for some mumbo jumbo, so since you really need it; you will close eyes and pay another)

Anyways, I will be paying the courier guy directly.

Since I am using WES, I still had to proceed to WAEC to process my WASSCE for evaluation on Monday 11/02/19.

I already purchased the scratch card, done an affidavit, passports and photo of result all was with me. Paid #10,000 to WAEC and 8,500 to Esther the lady repping Chase courier at WAEC Yaba.

So bro, no finger crossing oooo

Nice actions so far. But now cross your fingers that Funaab will act. And that verification won't constitute any hurdle.

Please what is the implication of eligibility point versus CRS points.

Fully explained here: https://www.nairaland.com/4843199/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled#72932702. Follow as many links as possible and read up.

I believe the link that says 'Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- How to Immigrate to Canada' is quite specific to your question.

Hi there.
Are there any points for having a nephew in law in Canada ? He’s my husband’s eldest sister’s son

You can get FSW (eligibility) points from a nephew/nephew in law but you cannot get CRS points. Please read page one of this thread (and the links therein) if you haven't already.

Let s consider this paragraph;

Now these are the questions for T, F or NG

Answers;
1. This is a direct contrast of what was written so it's false.
2. This is true because this was written in the passage.
3. While it is implied - from the article - that this is the right course of action, they didn't write that anywhere in the article. So the answer is 'Not Given'.

Assignment grin
What is the answer to number 4?

Na man you be sir. 1 more alomo for you!

By the way, how did you overcome the T, F, NG questions in reading. I've been dropping points a lot there.
Cc. Ifeoma.77 (the way we mention you here sha), tojued.

IELTS is a blurry memory for me at the moment, it's been quite a while. During my time, I prepared using resources gotten from page one.

If I'm not mistaken:

True = true beyond doubt based on the passage
False = wrong beyond doubt based on the passage
NG = Cannot be categorically said to be true or false based on the passage

Discard all prior knowledge you have, do not assume. The passage is the only information you need.

E.g.
While walking down the street I saw some oranges hanging from a tree. They were yellow and looked ready to eat.

NG: The oranges were ripe
F: The writer was riding a bicycle
T: There was more than one orange on the tree

Can I put d following in hand luggage...

3.beans

I don't think it's a good idea to put food in your hand luggage. But it's definitely going to be impossible to take poundo as carry-on. It's flour. It's a whitish, powdery substance. If you get my drift.

I'm not quite sure. I think the cost is reduced (about 5 CAD) if ordered within Canada. Let others weigh in on this.

Meanwhile, you can check here.

If you are living in Canada you can order your GCMS notes by yourself at no cost. However some people have complained that their free notes never arrived. (Don't be too discouraged by this, some people's paid notes also never arrived).

If you are living in Canada you can order notes for yourself, or for anyone anywhere in the world at CAD5. Here's how: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/how-to-order-gcms-notes-step-by-step-process.513893/

If you are not in Canada and you don't have anybody to order for you at CAD5, then you have to use a commercial service. GCMSBuddy and GetGCMS are the most popular at the moment. GCMSBuddy is the cheaper of the two, with prices starting from USD9.99.

Caveat Emptor - there's a risk related to ordering GCMS notes via a proxy: For anyone to order GCMS on your behalf, you need to sign a consent form. This form gives them permission to access your information under the relevant act for ONE YEAR. One full year from the date beside your signature. Now, there have been concerns that some of these commercial services can or have violated this access...

I think you're worried for nothing. WES won't just come and access your Masters degree as Bachelor's. Not even a one year Masters fa.
Please relax, your evaluation will come out positively

My darling those people can be brutal. They do it all the time, lots of stories on CanadaVisa Forum. Fortunately it never happens with our Nigerian degrees... But the degree in question is from Benin so anything can happen.

Many thanks @Tojued.
But what the crs calculator gives me is 119 for 2 or more post secondary degrees, then 126 for masters.
Or am I doing something wrong?

Kindly help check my profile:

Age - 36 (37 by June 1st)
Work experience - 10 years
Education - Masters/2 or more post secondary
IELTS (LRSW) - 8.5, 8.5, 7.5, 7

Spouse education - PhD
IELTS - I am assuming 7 across board
I am PA.

Thanks a lot.

I am PA

You're right, it's 437 vs 444. You need to fight for recognition of your masters degree.
Contact wes, also consider using another evaluation body.

Sincerely, I am beginning to get jittery about this WES evaluation.

I have a professional Masters from a recognized university in Benin republic, and sent this to WES for evaluation. However, seeing the comments here about WES underevaluating some degrees, it pro.pted me to check with their evaluating tool and I can see that they only have a one year option for schools in Benin republic when trying out this tool, and this eventually evaluates a Masters from Benin as 4 years Bachelor degree.

I'm greatly confused here, as I made a mistake in filling out the WES Application form. Rather than selecting "Specialized graduate program", I just selected "Masters' option. I can see from the the free evaluation tool that "Specialized graduate program" translates to an evaluation from WES as Masters!

Should I contact WES about this to have it changed? If WES evaluates my masters as 4 year Bachelor's program I will lose a great deal of points and drop far below the 443 I am trying to claim.

Someone advise me please.

PS: My masters degree is a 2 year program in Project Management.

I'm not sure I fully understand you but I believe if you contact wes they'll make the correction you're requesting for as per specialised graduate degree.

Secondly, in a worst case scenerio where wes undervalues the masters degree, you will still have two or more certificates as per two bachelor degrees. [s]That's only two points lower than masters[/s] (wrong info, there's a significant difference in points).

All the best.

Good day everyone, this is a new account opened just to post this. I did my speaking test this morning and I want to share what happened with you guys.

Part one went well but I got stuck in part 2. The question was about discussing an intelligent person I know. I talked about my husband as an intelligent man and along the line surprisingly I went blank however I picked up in part 3 and did well till the end. I zeroed my mind that what will be will be and didn't want to dwell on it too much so that it won't affect tomorrow's tests.

After the test I thank the examiner and left the room. As i was leaving I heard the door opened behind me and thought the examiner wanted to call the next candidate but he called me back to the room.

Examiner: Madam what happened, why were you nervous?
Me: I don't know sir, I just jot nervous all of sudden and went blank.
Examiner: What are you using the test for? Is it for Canada?
Me: Yes
Examiner: What's the required band?
Me: At least a 7
Examiner: I don't usually do this
Me: Thank you sir.

I left the centre angry at myself because
1. I can't believe I got nervous and went blank talking about my husband who is actually one of the most intelligent persons I know.
When I got home I told my husband what happened, he just laughed it off and said let's wait and hear what he will say.
Please advise me or am I overthinking this issue.

Lol he just wants more info on EE. Relaix your mind and be ready to share link to page one with him.

Hi guys, has anyone in the Alberta province exchanged his Naija Driving license for the Alberta license, do you know if your license was verified?
I was just checking through the FRSC website with my License number and I realize that it seems that my license isn't original wontigbami angry it says "Please visit the licence centre to process your application."
I checked with my friend's license number and it stated "Expiry Date is more than 30 days"
I am about to process converting my license but if anyone has had any encounter like this, please share, so I will just start from scratch their own driving license procedure which is a pain in the A$$. OR If the Naija license will still fly like that.
Comment your experience even if not in Alberta province. Thanks

Chapter 16. Part 3. Section 985 of the Nigerian Constitution;

When a person is convicted of attempting to dance with a tambourine while fully clothed, if it is proved that she desisted of her own motion from the willing donning of crop tops and filmy slinky skirts, she is liable to one-half of the punishment for first degree murder to which she would otherwise be liable. If that punishment is imprisonment for life, the greatest punishment to which she is liable is imprisonment for fifty years.
