linaskreat: Hi guys, I just paid for WES evaluation and I am looking for the most cost effective way to send my credentials to them.
Advise will be appreciated the most cost effective way to send your transcript to wes is via NIPOST. It is also the slowest and most risky way. the most cost efficient way to send your certificate is via hellofax. ask google for wes' fax number, also ask google how to use hellofax. |

Obyroli: please house can I claim two or more certificate for ond and bsc(direct entry), the ond was used for the direct entry in a different school. If yes ,which evaluation body is best to use. My previous question was not answered ,pls help . Thanks you can claim two or more certificates there are several evaluation bodies each with advantage and disadvantage. wes is fastest but nigerian schools usually delay in verifying so becomes slower. i believe someone used ICES the other day for two or more and was successful plus no verification needed. ICES more expensive than WES though. Do your research yourself and take a decision. |

My foolish questions:
why does thread size have to be limited? why can't the thread go on forever or get to say 1,000 or 5,000 pages (like some other threads on nairaland)? who determines the length of the thread? is there a standard number of pages allowed (for instance thread will be cut at every page 650) or is it sporadic? |

Ibusho: Dear All, why is it that band 7 or 7.5 is really not a good score in IELTS for PR. I have seen most post here where people intend rewriting the test after a score of L7,R7.5,W7.5,S7.5. I need more clarification in this regards.
Thanks Simulate your scores using the crs tool http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp Try out your crs score using band 7 result, and then band 8 result. Then visit page zero of this thread and sin no more. |

Jejebaba: There is no job security in the oil sector as you rightly said, when advised by my mentor, he asked me to first concentrate on having liquid assets worth of 100M NGN before thinking about immigration, so in case things don't pan out as planned in the Express entry, i can still have my family survive on return of investments, ROI of the 100M, which can give average of 12% p.a (12M yearly of 100M investment). In view of this, we made changes to our life, relocate back to Naija, reduced vacations to twice a year (New year and summer only) which avail us the opportunity to invest 12M in 2017 and we plan to replicate this in 2018 till we reach the financial goal of 100M. Good investment plan. However, note that the younger you are, the easier your PR process is. Also, the younger you are, the easier it is to acclimatise to a new environment and absorb displacement shocks. How old will you be by the time you have your 100m? What role would depreciation have played? How many years left until retirement? Inflation nko? Are you sure that 12% will still be able to cover top notch school fees? Most importantly, could canada and Australia have already cancelled or restricted the PR process? Oga, carpe diem (seize the day). Your wife that you say you're considering about financial discomfort is not complaining. Read up on the immigration process, take all the steps needed, it's fortunately not a capital intensive process (in comparison to your income). When you have COPR in hand, then you can continue all your philosophising about whether you want to relocate or not. Congo spoke French, I've spoken Latin. This your matter is serious o! oladoyinsola: Good day house, please I need your help for clarifications as regards my WES report.
I evaluated my MSc Finance from Unilag and my report was supposed to be released on Friday 20th of April, 2018. I have read on this platform that reports do come before due date, but this has proven different.
This has gotten me really bothered.
Is this normal occurrence with WES?
What can I do further after speaking with the customer service official at WES? I've read on other platforms of instances evaluation came late. You don't need to be worried, there's still a good number of days until Wednesday. Demand an explanation from them using the contact us page of their thread or contact them through Twitter. |

GlitteringStar: Excellent! Congrats! Kindly share tips so I can bookmark it on page 0. it's quite long sha, i'll try to add links during the weekend. I’ve always believed that exam is a test of both a person and the person’s God. I see it as 50/50: my ability and God’s ability. My ability can only get so far and God does the rest. Pre-preparationRead, research and ask questions. I got hints from friends who have written before, and a lot of links and advice from here. I had been following the thread and bookmarking all the shared tips. I read almost all IELTSLiz articles to understand the ‘theoretical’ aspect of the test. Listening & readingCambridge general training. Get them from https://ieltsmaterial.com Started practicing about three weeks to the exam, practiced intensively until I was scoring band 9 consistently. At this point, I switched to only one test a day. Find your weak points and focus on them. SpeakingLearned about JAM technique here… search on youtube. My main resource was IELTSJay PPF (Youtube). I used his test simulation videos. When speaking he’d pause, and then I’d actually answer like it was a real test. On test day, I ensured the examiner always had to interrupt me before i would stop talking (nairaland tip). Learn to talk on any topic for two minutes without repeating yourself. PPF will help with this. Lastly, on that day while awaiting my turn I ensured I chatted with other candidates. This reduced my nervousness. I also smiled a lot and was natural with the examiner. WritingNairaland taught me that fear of writing is the beginning of wisdom. But na God get power. IELTS Jay simulation videos were key for writing task one. His formal and semi-formal templates were on point, but I used Liz to learn Informal. This is because I did not trust Jay: when he wrote ielts he only scored 6.5 in writing lol. He had to remark for 7.5. For task two I used the ieltsliz website. Towards the end I followed a friend’s tip: there are samples on Ihttps://www.ielts-exam.net/ielts_writing_samples_task_2/. So you read the question, draft out your response, then read the model answer and correct yourself Addition:Never overestimate yourself, the people writing ielts 9 times are not dullards. ielts is a HUMBLER of personalities (nairaland tip). This was my motto. Practice in less than ideal conditions; in noisy environments (don’t turn off the tv), without earphones and with distraction (nairaland tip). It will teach you to focus. Before your test you should do at least one complete practice test: listening, reading and writing so you're used to doing it all at a stretch (ieltsliz tip). If you don’t ask for extra sheet in writing test 2, you’ve probably written less than 250 words (ieltsJay tip) I used 2B pencil for my writing test (it's easier to write with than HB). (nairaland tip). Carry plenty pencils so you don't have to sharpen in the hall. (my tip ) Download playlists on youtube so you can watch offline (to save data costs and network distraction) God bless us all and grant us our heart desires. |

unyted: I don't know why Nigerians are always in the news for the wrong reasons. What sort of fraudulent behaviour is that? There are legitimate means for people to migrate - Federal Skills Worker, Provincial Nomination, Study Permit etc... why must people be involved in this nonsense? It's not as if there is war or chaos in Nigeria to warrant this nonsense. Now, the Canadian immigration might start to treat PR applications from Nigerians with a pinch a salt. I don't know when we will start to do things the right way in this country. It's purely unreasonable and pathetic, trying to by pass the system. Those guys should be sent back to America, it makes no sense....Canada is too soft for my liking. 1. There is war and chaos in Nigeria 2. Canada's 'softness' is the reason we're on this thread. Please they should stay soft. 3. I agree that people should go the legal route and stop looking for short cuts. |
