Good evening everyone,

I am the principal applicant. While scanning documents, I noticed my husband's birth certificate has a different place of birth from that on his international passport (which is what he has always used) . It says Benin instead of Warri! What do I do ? I need to submit but am worried.

I need urgent advice please.

In real life where was he born? So we know which document to correct.

However he's unlikely to need his birth certificate on this journey. Even to claim sibling points you can go with marriage certificate instead.
(In other words go with info on passport)

NDVO is the real deal! (Here's to hoping people don't start abusing the process though by mailing them when their application has not been approved).

They already resolved that issue.

If you mail concerning an unapproved application, they send you a generic response.

If you mail concerning an approved application, they send you PPR smiley

Congratulations to PPR clinchers...

A quick one, my AOR is August 9, my passport is expiring 22nd June, 2019.
Eligibility- not started
Security- not started
Criminality- Met
VO- Ottawa
Number of days left to hit months- 33 days.

Is it advisable I renew my passport now and raise a CSE uploading the new one or I hold on hoping I get PPR within the 6 months frame?

If I'm to renew, can anyone help with a faster place I can get the passport done and if possible get it same day or next and the cost? Location is Lagos.

Thanks.

Your question has been answered. Just want to add that your ppr is definitely arriving within the six months frame! Stop being anxious.

Hello house I just noticed that ielts now has a paper based and computer based option ...please any advice on which to book

NeneSisi:
For the computer based IELTS exam, you have 30mins for the listening section, as against 40mims in the paper based exam.

You'll get login details for each section and your speaking test will begin immediately after the LRW.

You'll be given instructions during the test and a demo will be shown on how to navigate the system during the test.

But, I think, it's best to go on YouTube and familiarize yourself with it before hand.

The computer won't highlight spelling errors, so be sure your spellings are correct. No bathroom breaks during listening.

You can have your water with you but no eating. It was chilled environment

Carry out a nairaland search for more discussions on the topic

Hahaha you really think I didn't call him and introduce myself??You must think I'm a 5year old that doesn't know what is right....I got his no from someone here who he has helped to ace writing...mind you,he was hotcake then because he got one of the best results in writing...How on earth would I just send a message to someone and asked him to help me in writing

Some people (e.g me) don't like to take their communication out of this place, PM is the mac level of contact I'm confortable with.

Also could be that he was inundated at that point and needed some space. It's easier to help others with ielts when you just finish your ielts, than post AOR when you're all antsy with the wait.

Just trying to see the other side of the story sha.

This can be very confusing to be honest. Maybe it depends on Airline (like EgyptAir), or it seems a lot of airline are joining the cash grab parole. I bought tickets to Europe on WestJet-dot-com a few days ago, and all the seat selections were not free. Price ranged from $8 to $48. $48 being the seats with biggest leg space and $8 being for seats with smallest leg space. Some say paying for advance seat selection only applies to Economy tickets. It is best to read the airline's policy on advanced seat selection.

Seatguru can be very helpful https://www.seatguru.com/

Thanks to both of you for your kind feedback.

Now, i received my reference letter from the bank and noticed that for the average 6 months balance, what was specified was account balance as at day letter was issued.

Although i made it very clear that what i wanted was 6 months average balance and relationship manager was like, that's hard work for them to achieve since their system does not keep that information.

Well, i hope this is fine?

Honestly I think you should get the letter corrected. If they can't give you average balance, let them indicate it's current balance. It's inaccurate to call it average balance and then put figure of current balance.
Would be an inconsistency if you get adr for statement of account.

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen smiley

Please I'm currently creating an EE profile, and I have a question.

My husband hasn't done his credential evaluation, so when filling his part, is it okay to fill the details for his education history, and then saying he doesn't have an ECA when asked about it..... Hope this won't mean that we will be expected to then provide an ECA post ITA.

[I asked because you know the profile can be updated along the way preITA]

Please help. cry
Thanks

It's okay if you're not claiming points for his education. Post-ITA you'd upload only his certificates.

Another route is claim he has no qualifications (since you're not claiming points for the education) and then put it all in personal history.

Help what? It would have been appreciated without the haughtiness.

Pleese what was haughty about that response? How many people have you yourself helped with on this thread - whether haughtily or politely given?

Why ask for help if you cannot receive it in any shade? If you were now given a rude answer or heavily shaded through a meme I wonder how you for react. It is well o!

You shouldn't have splashed your question on a public forum if you wanted people minding their businesses.

Someone stepped in to ensure you did not pick up wrong info and all you could do was create a platform to express whatever beef you have boiled up for the person.

If Ifeoma decides she won't be forthcoming on this platform anymore now it's not as if you will come and fill the cretead gap.

All the best in your EE application and may your dreams come true.

PS: you don't need to answer me, all my questions were rhetorical. Just to engender reflection in 'silent readers' who come out of nowhere to spurn efforts of those who are keeping the thread rich.
If you do choose to answer me, I sincerely promise to do my best not to respond.

PS2: Ifeoma77 I don't know about the silent readers or beefers association, but I for one am amazed at how much you give back to this thread. Especially since I can never ever be similarly generous. Abeg, anyday I ask question I take God beg you help me mind my business. Daalu.

Only the Reference letter + latest FD certificate.
If you are planning on adding the older certificates to prove that it has been your money all along, then it might be best to also add a LOE to avoid confusing the case agent.

cc: @ottawasenators

I totally agree. I did not read the last sentence is the previous proposition properly.

Just current FD is okay.

Only RCMP and Canada Border Service might be a tough nut to crack as per security clearance. I believe you need to be a citizen or have resided in Canada as a PR for atleast 10 years to qualify for a job with RCMP.

The other agencies just require a PR status plus an enhanced security check in addition to criminal check. That is, extra checks to include fingerprinting, professional/educational verification checks, credit/financial checks and background investigations.

Bypassing the food chain just meant you may qualify based on past experience and education. There would still be some succesful candidates that would get in without having worked in security services. Might be rare though.

The 3 years wait is new information to me. Maybe the process has changed. The UK police officers the CPS recruited some years back had never lived in Canada. It could be that Nationals of some countries are exempt from the 3 year wait.

https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.824971

I forgot to mention that someone seeking a career in law enforcement services can also consider private coorperations. Some companies usually have a security and investigation department that manages private security guards contracted to the company. They also manage access control and the likes.
Such jobs would require a certificationsl like ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP).

Thanks again.

What I said about the three years was a dem say stuff, not like I have evidence. Though the person who told me works in HR.

The taste of the pudding will surely be in the eating.

Salford1 for President. Thanks a lot for the detailed response.

I've digested the response. No vex, one question (for now) :

1. You mentioned bypassing the food chain and getting a law enforcement job straight up. Is this possible considering these jobs require security clearance? I heard you need to have lived in Canada for three years to get security clearance.

Lemme go an be looking at requirements for the other careers. It's only private security and non commissioned police officer I had looked up before. Thanks again

Good day House and a prosperous 2019 to us all.

In terms of POF, i intend to submit All Fixed deposit certificates , which i have been rolling over since December 2017 and a reference letter from same bank showing 6 months average balance.

Note: Fixed deposit sum actually originated from the said account and last significant flow was july of 2018. Fixed deposits are usually for 6 months

Hope i'm good to go in providing just the reference letter and fixed deposit certificates (in historical order)

In my opinion, you are good to go.

Hello guys, need an advice for a friend,

They got ghost updates for 3 days consecutively from Sunday till this morning which is meant to be a good thing.
However, the application number than appears in the 3 mails was not the one that has been since they created the profile, ITA and the ADR they got.

AOR Sept 22

What should they do?

Someone has gotten another person's PPR mail before, there's absolutely nothing new under the sun lol.

The person can raise CSE or send mail to their Visa Office (or both), pointing out the anomaly. I don't think it's something to be worried about.

PS: Abeg ask your friend make e check well whether one of the ghost update na my own grin

Hello,
Those People getting ineligibility mail when trying to get in the pool, Please check the hours of work you entered. Few of my friends made the mistake of putting 8hours instead of at least 40hrs per week because they thought it was hours of work per day when its hours per week. Please check carefully before answering.

Thank you.

The ineligibility issue was a widespread glitch. People who had previously been eligible were suddenly deemed ineligible at midnight yesterday. The only solution so far has been to increase POF amount.

All these troubleshooting about CLB, hours of work, work experience are for normal ineligibility issues, not the glitch of yesterday.

For anyone who got an ineligible mail yesterday, go and create a new profile. Increase your POF amount well above te current recommendation.

Good morning house.

Please I've come again. Apprenticeship wahala is looking plenty, very slim prospects of getting an employer to sponsor a somebody.

What are the prospects of a career in the security sector (Southern Alberta, Calgary preferably)? We're looking long-term at law enforcement positions with the government, corporate security management etc.

Without any prior experience, is it possible to kick-start such a career by starting off as a security guard? Apparently the security guard courses (and exam) are available online and so can be done before landing. Licensing with the province is also straightforward.

The real question is are security guard jobs readily available and is there real room for growth?

I know say Salford aka Salford1 dey sabi give correct answer to dis kain question. However I'm sure many others will have input. Abeg apart from the regular elders wey dey help with responses, if you get any idea jus chuk mouth for this matter. Because that other time when we dey argue matter for the former thread naim we know say many people hold ground for living in Canada matter just say dem prefer to activate ghost mode. Make una contributions no dey end for those kain sensitive argument, make una dey show dey knack advice join for dose of us wey still be JJC level as per never cross MMIA airport talkless see Canada.
