Music/Radio / Re: M.I Best Nigerian Rapper For Now: (true/false) by toluwalomo(m): 5:50pm On Jan 19, 2009
Guy, just cuz ppl are not feeling M.I. like you, does not make them haterz.

Stick to the script and concentrate on making valid points.

If you are a rilla no need to get all sentimental.

When X came out he was the shit where is he now,

When 50 came out he was the shit,

Give him time to stake his claim on the throne.

Any one of immense ability will stay the long haul.

Just ask Rugged and Eedris ABDUL Kareem.
Music/Radio / Re: Ruggedman Is In Trouble Oooooooo by toluwalomo(m): 12:57pm On Jan 19, 2009
Beef in hip hop goes like a sock in a shoe.

Rugged took Eedris out of the game.

Now it is time to take him out.

Hip Hop is unlike any other genre out there.

If you do not upgrade your art and remain on point, you get TOOK.

Rugged is not deaf, he cannot touch a Mode 9, MI or even a Bliss on a track.

Like Jay-Z said "gracefully bow out" your time don pass.

We appreciate what you did for Hip Hop but that was then this is NOW.
Music/Radio / Re: M.I Best Nigerian Rapper For Now: (true/false) by toluwalomo(m): 7:22pm On Jan 09, 2009
@ dclique, How I guage my Hip hop greats is not with a first album.

Illmatic did not make Nas the best rapper when it came out it got him noticed.

Reasonable Doubt did not MAKE jAY Z the best rapper it got him noticed.

They then built from that and took d the crown.

So if you saying M I is the best rapper for now i cud agree but then there is Mode. And their albums came out at par.

People are feeling MI a whole lot more than Mode cuz he is more mainstream and not locked in that golden state of hip hop like 9.

But mainstream or underground, commercial or uncommercial, based on the tenets of Hip hop, 1 on 1 Mode 9 is better than MI.

So that MI TAG for now mi no gree.

I think he has the best and most anticipated debut album for a rapper. And he is enormously talented.

Let see some other efforts before we bow down and start to chant All hail king M I

There are loads of rap thunder cats out there.

One releases an album getting the exposure it deserves and he iz the best.

Another releases he is the best.

M I is one to watch, and he cud take the crown if Mode slips.
Music/Radio / Re: M.I Best Nigerian Rapper For Now: (true/false) by toluwalomo(m): 4:47pm On Jan 08, 2009
When I saw this post, i was like here we go again, 9ja SO EASILY impressed will start with the outlandish claims.

But reading the thread, i have seen that Nigerians have not fully bitten the hype.

M.I. is a breath of fresh air, a nice addition to the rap game and another reason why the likes of Eedris should call it day.

A close to a classic rap album by 9ja standards.

But he is too good to be biting Lil Wayne.

Hope he has a better production budget on the next album.

Rave of the moment, yea.

Hottest rapper out there, Hell naw.
Rap Battles / Re: Controversy Time: Mi Vs Naeto C Whos A Rapper Better by toluwalomo(m): 3:02pm On Dec 24, 2008
M.I. versus Naeto C. Being a better rapper is subjective. What makes a good rapper?

Is it the flow? the rhyming? the personality?

This is the beauty of Hip Hop above under genres, it can accomodate more styles than porn star.

M.I. and Naeto C have their strong and weak points.

Under the auspices of original hip hop M.I. might win. We hear Naeto on an album and all assume he raps that swagger way and cannot do a modey 9 on us. I think he can.

M.I. better rapper. But Naeto made a better album.

This is early days. I am just happy more lyrically-concious rappers are understanding how to make a commercial album.

The era of the Eedris Abdul Kareems and Ruggedy Babas are over.

I expect the Rugged allies to bring their heat.

Bring it ooooooooooo

Music/Radio / Re: Akon Latest Album What Do You Think. by toluwalomo(m): 12:55pm On Dec 17, 2008
Like every other person that makes too much money, Akon's vintage talent does not come thru. Too many cameos, too much money.

Still poles apart from what people are dropping these days.
TV/Movies / Best And Worst Movies For 2008 by toluwalomo(m): 5:26pm On Dec 03, 2008
The year is grinding to a halt.

The summer is passed and we have had over 11 months of top-notch hollywood movies and duds.

I just wanna guage what yall loved and hated movie-wise in '08 and why.

My best movies for 2008 would include Wanted, Hell Boy 2 and The Dark Knight.

Wanted, action movies are never about plots, but action sfx and sequences and Angelina and co did not disappoint.

Hell Boy 2 was a suprise for me. More action and a stronger story line than the first.

Dark Knight well i felt the brouhaha would hit new heights, based on Heath's death. But the move was darn good and actually an epitome of the real bat guy we comic buffs loved.

My duds for the year would be LakeView Terrace and Bangok Dangerous. Are Samuel L. Jackson and Nicolas Cage broke or something? That will only explain why they chose to be part of weak, cliched movies.

Aight for actors on the come-up but not people like them who together have an impressive list of movies.

Oops I forgot Jumper, that should be my worst movie for 2008. Strengthless actors, predictable plot even the efxs were a bit tiring, zapping from place to place.

X-files: I want to believe, well it it for X-file fans and was meant to be a serial masquerading as a movie.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Chelsea (1) Versus Arsenal (2) by toluwalomo(m): 6:29pm On Nov 28, 2008
I don't know why Wenger makes stuff difficult for himself by turning big games against top 4 rivals to must-wins.

I am a gunner men, on paper this does not look too good for Arsenal.

I hope am wrong,
Music/Radio / Re: Review Of Modenine's Album: Emphasis On Track 22:death Blow by toluwalomo(m): 5:46pm On Nov 28, 2008
From an M9 review to a Modey vs Rugged Man. Ok, since we are on that topic well, lyric wise and what Hip hop stands for Mode 9 is eons ahead of Rugged Man.

Rugged Man gets weaker and weaker with each effort. Obviously making too much money to remain focused and better his art form.

Yall know cuz he's making more more MONEY than Mode don't mean he is better.

Pity, money is used to judge talent.

Mode 9 for hip hop Prez, MI shud be his running mate.
Politics / Why Does Festus Keyamo Always Get The Headline Cases by toluwalomo(m): 6:47pm On Nov 03, 2008
Festus Keyamo!

Has he tried any case that is not sensational and headline hugging?

I seriously doubt this guy's credibility as a lawyer for the down-trodden.
Nairaland / General / Why Do Most Nigerians Girls Dance With Thier Mouths Open? by toluwalomo(m): 7:37pm On Sep 01, 2008
This is something I have noticed for eons now.

But it always seems to escape my mind.

But for real, haven't you noticed that most girls dance with their mouths open? And are either looking down or trying to check out their posteriors and see whether it's shaking enuff?

And I'm just being curious here, before someone launches a battle-of-the-sex thingy!
Technology Market / How To Print Recharge Cards by toluwalomo(m): 6:56pm On Mar 13, 2008
Printing recharge cards on behalf of gsm companies has been on my mind for awhile now.

I want to know the procedures attached to this venture.

And is it really profitable?

How much does it take to start?

What are the basic needs to start off with?

Thanks.

@hilli666 you can get your point across without calling people names.

What you just gave is a point of view that is not law, people are entitled to theirs.

If you want to ram your myopic opinions down the throats of people, go and live in Cuba.
Sports / Re: Berti Vogts Must Go by toluwalomo(m): 3:52pm On Jan 28, 2008
Baboon Vogts, I know where you stay anytime you are in the Federal Captital Territory.

Let's hope for both our sakes, you don't show up there for the next 2 weeks.

Me and my people have put a stake-out on your white ass!
Music/Radio / Re: Did Dbanj Copy Durella? by toluwalomo(m): 5:13pm On Dec 19, 2007
I was opportuned to see D'banj perform in April 2005 at Fantasy Land. And he and Durella wee on stage.

They looked like twins: same shades, white singlets and sagging jeans.

They were inseprable back in the days. There is a mystery about those two somewhere.

It is so easy to say Durella jacked D'banj's style cuz he's the one without the money.

Same thing happend to Jaz-O who got jacked for his style by Jay-Z.

The fact that D'banj and Durella were bosom buddies back in the days and singing together should tell you something?

Cuz we all like D'banj don't mean he don't have a graveyard in his cupboard.
Music/Radio / Re: Ruggedy Baba Video by toluwalomo(m): 5:04pm On Dec 19, 2007
Poor video. Rugged needs to take a break from music. Obviously the hunger is no more.

He has now joined the bandwagon of "dem bling bling bubble gum rap cats".

He should get a ghostwriter. grin

Romance / Re: Romance With My Subordinate? (I'm Married) by toluwalomo(m): 4:49pm On Nov 21, 2007
Tsk, tsk, another reason why women feel men have their brains lodged between their legs.

Cuz your marriage is unhappy, does that veto adultery?

Don't allow a single female who is "into you" wreck your marriage!

I'd rather you seek counselling and try to make your marriage work. And not take solace in the bosom of that other woman.
TV/Movies / Re: Cost Of Making A Music Video? by toluwalomo(m): 4:44pm On Nov 21, 2007
CrazyT hit the nail on the head, your concept determines your video.

Hell naw, you can shoot a resonable video with 100k, what you wanna use a camcorder?

My friend (name withheld) shot Mode 9's Nigerian Girls, Babara's Dangerous, Charly Boi's Ninja Bike, Dare's Fuji amongst others. These are premium quality videos, world-class.

If you serious about shooting that kind, holler!
