I am of the strong opinion that the reason why he lived this long (95) despite all his health and social issues in life must be forgiving spirit and service to humanity without any mind of making profit off people! Indeed, inner peace is LIFE! cool

Nigerians wont mind
That's the way life rolls bro, some of us need to relocate to another location to locate our blessing and breakthroughs in life! Remember Abraham in the Bible, not until when God instructed him to leave his father's house/country to another country entirely before his breakthroughs started resurfacing, so bro there is no crime in traveling to another man's land wink

You are right definitely still a young one, but very adventurous, thick-bodied pythons are the reticulated pythons of Asia, this specie, African Rock Python can be massive when older because as a rule pythons grow with age.

DerideGull: @OP

An attempt to compare Nelson Mandela to Olusegun Obasanjo is idiocy born in hell.
Agreed, but in this case, the basis for comparison is on their experiences from Prison to President nothing more. Definitely, they are never on the same pedestal!
Obj represents darkness..

This is an insult to the memory of Mandela..
Chino, you are not getting my drift, the basis for comparison has nothing to do with their achievements, intellects or what have you but strictly on their Prison experiences (both were imprisoned and eventually became President, while one chose to do it right after his Presidency the other decided to be involved in the mire of politics of bitterness) got it now?

Politics › From Prison To President: Mandela Vs Obasanjo! by tomakint(op):
Nelson Mandela is gone forever but he left behind an indelible footprint in the sand of time based on his political beliefs and sagacity, he came out of Prison to become the most celebrated Elder Statesman globally as a result of his stands against the imperialistic natures of the Supremacist Whites of his country (South Africa), oppressing the poor, fights against HIV/AIDS (where he lost a son to the dreaded viral infection), supporting the tenets of democracy for his dear country which eventually paid off and many more! Mandela was privileged to emerge as President after giving a rousing speech shortly after he was released from Robben Island prison, promising them that if given the chance to serve them as President, he will only serve for a term (4 years) after which his remaining time on Earth would be to serve humanity. All the promises he made then, he kept till he breathe his last breath!

On the contrary, Nigeria has a man, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, with a similar experience as Mandela, he was imprisoned, brutalized and eventually gained freedom by Providence! He initially said he would never get involved in partisan politics again, but after a while he dropped that wise thinking and joined partisan politics, he promised his deputy, Alhaji Atiku, that he would only go for a term; eventually he was even gunning for 3rd term before he was stopped. He has been involved in politics of bitterness, vindictiveness after serving out his term as President in 2007 till date! The question now is, when are we going to have someone like Madiba? Rest in Peace, Mandela!

Travel › Nigerians To Pay UK Visa Application Fee In Dollars! by tomakint(op):
The British High Commission in Nigeria Wednesday announced a new system of visa application whereby UK visa would be paid for online in US dollars.

In a statement signed by its Press and Public Affairs Officer, Rob Fitzpatrick, the commission stated that the new system would begin on December 16.

"From December 16, all applications for UK visa must be completed using our online application system and paid for online in US dollars. Payment can be made using a Verve debit card, Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards or the e-wallet PAGA," Fitzpatrick added in the statement.

He stated that the move for online application and payment would deliver a streamlined process, adding that it was consistent with a wider global trend to online transactions and payments.

The commission explained further that that the new system had met the requirements of the UK Government's Digital by Default Initiative, expressing optimism that the system would cut cost in the management of visa operation as well as help to reduce visa fees.

The commission added that the system would be safer for customers as it would reduce the risk of handling large sums.

Earlier this year, Britain had planned to force visitors from six "high-risk" countries, including Nigeria, to pay a cash bond of £3,000, but it was reversed after diplomatic consultations.

The scheme required visitors from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ghana and Nigeria to pay the deposit for a six-month visa. They would have forfeited the money if they overstayed. "The government has been considering whether we pilot a bond scheme that would deter people from overstaying the visa. We have decided not to proceed," a Home Office spokeswoman was quoted by AFP as stating.

Reports in June said the scheme would initially target hundreds of visitors before being extended to affect several thousands.

The plan had prompted an outcry from government and business leaders in India, with which Britain has been trying to foster a closer trade relationship. Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Olugbenga Ashiru, also said in June that the bond scheme was "not only discriminatory but also capable of undermining the spirit of the Commonwealth family."

The London-based Sunday Times newspaper had reported that the scheme, backed by Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservatives, had been blocked by junior coalition partners, the Liberal Democrats.

According to reports, Cameron's government was trying to show that it was serious about a promise to cut net migration into Britain below 100,000 a year by the next election in 2015, amid an electoral threat from the anti-immigrant United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).

Juxtaposing the projects they have embarked upon with the number of years they have spent in service and still serving, Jonathan towers above Fashola in all ramifications! If Boko Haram and some Northern Elders gave promises that they will make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan and they made good their threats, yet, in the midst of this commotion, Jonathan could still muster up strength to achieve what he did so far.....then, he is an Enigma!

Ikengawo: this song is extremely boring, the guy that complained is right. Though it's not dbanjs job to report on poverty and suffering in Nigeria because he didn't cause it. Nigerian movies and music are escapist, they help people not think about the frustrations of life and that's why they're so excessively unrealistic and shallow. Still, we would be an irresponsible generation to allow our creative expression to go down in history as a constant unending fantasy about women's asses and drinking. You can see in the lyrics of a an Osita Osadebe, Fela Kuti, Sunny Ade, Prince Nico, Rex Lawson in comparison to Dbanj, Terry G, Davido, etc that we're a culture in decline. The type of indiscipline and lack of morals vision or grounding is not enough to sustain the type of enlightened or developed society we're aspiring to have because all of our kids want to be rappers, all of our girls want to be rappers side chicks and all of their friends aspire to be entourage. They think this music video is a 'life style'

even look at the comments saying this is a good video. If a club will allow you, anyone can make this video with an Iphone and single bottle on hennessy. This isn't a good video, if you want to see good videos leave your village and study the world's videography. Hennessy is using the greed of our artists to push alcohol on their young fans. How old is the average person that listens to Dbanj? is this your father's music or your younger brother and sister's music? I'm 25 and I even feel too old to be listening to this mess.
Another wiseman has spoken, you just won a fan to yourself, Ikengawo wink at leisure you may want to visit this link, https://www.nairaland.com/1026662/good-80s-just-what-taste truly, Music in this age has gone to the dogs well done bro wink

owobokiri: There is a cultural angle to this madness. More than any group, the SW seem to think that they are culturally superior to everybody else. They fact that feudalism, a core aspect of their cultural outlook belongs to the days of ovaranwem seem to easily elude them. And so they think that the igbos have no culture because unlike them, igbos dont roll in the mud when they want to say "good morning" to their fathers.., they must be waking their old ones with "sliding tackles'".. Other peoples cultural symbols and leaders are mercilessly attacked while everything done in Yorubaland is seen as the best. As the hollow attempt at cultural chauvinism progresses, a laughable attempt to sound intellectually superior is vigorously pursued even when facts are in short shrift.. When they tell you they play "sophisticated politics", what they actually mean is that they are they best strategist in the country.., pray tell me; how can you boldly and proudly lay claim to sophistication in politics when all you do when you are not in opposition is to position yourself actively, intellectually and strategically to grab the biggest crumbs from the fulani sickening table? How does sucking furiously from the hausa fulani behind make one a sophisticated being? bunch of clowns
