thelastPope: You are very funny. His hatred for GEJ is because of GEJ's tribe. You still dont get it. The whole hatred is because the north wants the power back, nothing else. GEJ is very very far from being incompetent. Can you name any past president in Nigeria that made the progress GEJ has made in their first 2 years? Power, Rails, Airport, Elections, FOI, Agriculture, Almajiri schools? I challenge you. Not even their much worshiped Fashola can come close. Their godfather Buhari did nothing in 20months as president. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Gradually, they are showing their real frustrations. Didnt you hear Tinubu calling terrorism of BH a minor crime? Open your ears and mind bro
As usual thanks for opening up the thick skulls of some certified, naive-minded dolts in the house and injecting some senses into them, once again I say thank you! **too many babies whinning in the house**

kettykin: I can understand people are tired of the way the Country is being run and people dying everyday.
The question is did Nigeria start experiencing mismanagement of leadership position and misruling today ?
Did Innocent people start loosing their lives everyday of recent ?

Of what use would a change of leadership serve a country that has experienced misrule and anarchy of a yearly basis, of recent during the unfortunate tenure of Olusegun Obasanjo we were all witnesses of how thousands of innocent Nigerians lost their lives in the Northern Cities of Kaduna, Borno,Kano all in the name of Declaration of the Sharia Legal system and the only OBJ did was to turn a deaf ear to the cries of the Northern Minorities and declare that Sharia was a political thing.
Possibly if Obasanjo had taken adequate care of the Declaration of the Sharia Legal system even when the country was a secular country practicing the penal code ,the situation would not have snowballed to what we have today.

Talking about Misrule and corruption in Nigeria today one would not help but notice how an inept and ineffective Obasanjo sat over crumbling Government establishments that provided basic services like Nepa and Nitel , it was during OBJ's tenure that Nitel was leased out to a company PENTASCOPE during a whopping sum of N100B Nitel money was misappropriated without any body going to jail or even getting arrested.

The OBJ Tenure also witnessed Soldiers being used to impeach Elected Governors in Plateau, Anambra and Bayelsa that prompted the Late Chinua Achebe to reject the National Award given to him.
The Misrule was so much that the Police AIG of zone 9 was used to kidnap a sitting Governor in Anambra , A whopping sum $16B was flushed down the drain in National Electricity Projects all over the country with Nothing to show for it after 8 years. we all remember the Halliburton and Siemens scandal and how the same set of kleptomaniacs that wrecked this country were mentioned in the 2 cases.

I could go on and on with how Innocent prominent men including the minister of Justice Bola Ige were assassinated and the IG Tafa Balogun could not apprehend the Killers.

I would end with an admonition that a change of leadership would not bring the much needed change but rather a plebiscite should be organised where the various tribes and people in Nigeria would determine there destiny.

@Katsumoto

Your attempts to be relevant in this discussion is rib-cracking laughable. Both of you silly radicals should bury your heads in the sand.

According to Lt William Walbe, in interview he gave to Elaigwu, he categorically stated that Fajuiyi was as good a target to the coup plotters as Ironsi.

I am flabbergasted to know that someone will remotely believe conjectural craps from rumor peddlers to doubt an account from a person who was right at the center of the drama.

Nigeria is certainly an enigma.
You got the whole picture perfectly cool

Dede1: @OAM4J

I seriously doubt if you are qualified to act as a moderator on any forum. You are a bigot and pathetically ill-informed one too. I could not fathom any other reason why you had to ban Dede1 for the use of words-Yoruba and Yooba except you are under undue pressure of tribalism and ignorance.

I am Igbo and shall remain so throughout my life on earth. I feel honored when I heard Awolowo say “I am Ijebu before Yoruba”. Nigeria is in a total mess today because certain ignoramuses forced different groups of people who had no business staying together into one country.

Please get some education and it is even cheap through Google. Yoruba or Yooba is alternative name of Yoruba and has been used in numerous texts even in Arabic. There was no intent of derogatory when Songahi Scholar used the word-Yoruba to describe certain ethnical group found in the acreage that later constituted into Nigeria.

I had not intentions to abuse you but you should realize that lack of knowledge of certain rules does not absolve you from punishment due to crass blunder. My quarrel lies with the person who introduced free-education-policy in western region of Nigeria. Again, you need to place your itching ban fingers on a leash. A weeklong ban of Dede1 can not and will never change a thing.
The wise one has spoken, I hope the mod the post is directed at has learnt something!
There's no limit to what you igbos can do. Now answer this, was Fajuyi not aware of the coup in time for him to move or run? Was he not foretold that northern counter coup plotters are coming for ironsi or not? Then, what stopped him from taking to his heels like others? Well, I don't expect you to be sincere.
I am not Igbo! You are still a baby perhaps still 'sucking your fingers' to know your left from your right! Fajuyi was even a principal target for the coup plotters than Ironsi (check your facts) because he gave some strategies and blessings to the first coup that eliminated Akintola, Balewa, Ahmadu Bello and others! cool

Unfortunately, some clowns still believed that Fajuyi actually 'sacrifised' himself to die alongside his boss, Ironsi, which was actually a PURE LIE!
Politics › Re: Kano Bombing May Have Caused Achebe's Death – Soyinka, Clark by tomakint:
Definitely there is a connection! Why? Professor Chinua Achebe loved his people with immense passion, he even wrote a book, 'there was a country' detailing the injustice meted out to his people (the Igbos)! The only way to make the struggle of this world renowned 'Literary Icon' to stand the test of time is to seek justice through a legal framework as championed by Achebe when he was alive and pursue to a logical conclusion this fight against injustice! Truly, looking at the current political situation of this contraption, Professor Chinua Achebe's literary works (from things fall apart, arrow of god to no longer at ease); it is most certain that Achebe was a 'Political Prophet' because he saw it all! No doubt about it, Achebe and Ojukwu were both right about their sentiments on the contraption called Nigeria, may their brave souls continue to rest in perfect peace (Amen) cool Indeed, there was a COUNTRY!

Billyonaire: Congratulations Bishop Oyedepo. I had anticipated that it's be gonna space Exploration this time, but you have tried. I advise you commence works on these projects; Space Exploration, Mining of Asteroids, Teleportation of humans to Heavens and Cloning of Angels. There is nothing impossible..right ? Airline is but a small thing for this great mind, he single-handedly applied several laws of power and has unlimited source of income which he wields professionally to amass wealth under the guidance of Holy Ghost. The next step in keeping the church together will be inventing a virtual enemy to unionize and unite the church members on a cause. Divinity is a free for all field and great orators with passion for spirituality almost always have a field day, this great mind, has all it takes and planned it all out from time, his son, David Oyedepo Jnr, may not fit his shoe, cos unlike the former, who was born in penury and learnt the art of natural powerplay by nature's forces, the later was born in opulence and was only taught by word and reading and not by personal experiences. Indeed Oyedepo Snr, is a great man, he alone know his truth. God Bless the mind who taught me the 5 steps to Stardom. It works for me.
