CFCfan: You are right on the money! The most important thing in any mega city are the standard/cost of living of all residents.
Let's keep our fingers crossed on @ the bolded cool

CFCfan: The rationale for the over-concentration of developments on the Island is that the residents there are the highest-earning Lagosians, who pay substantial tax.

The 'Mega City' initiative will encompass both the mainland and island areas.
The aim of a mega city in any country is to boost economic developments, if the short falls of this mega city project of a thing is not well considered it may back fire on the long run especially on the 'less privileged' it will definitely breed a big wide gulf between the rich and the poor! Who and who are benefiting from this project I think that is one thing we need to consider!

The question is still this? If Lagos can boast of N30 billion revenues every month and the so-called 'E ko oni baje' is still like that.....I wonder what's in it for the inhabitants! I have spent a greater part of my life in Lagos (over 25 years) yet each timed I breezed in it is still the same thing, excessive traffic jams in virtually every nooks and crannies, extortion, over-concentration of developments of the island to the detriment of mainland, high transport fares which still affect pockets of salary-earners etc. Unfortunately, people just enjoy being exploited just for the fun of it undecided All I hear is 'mega-city, mega-city as if that will put money into the pockets of the common man on the streets! E ko tin baje ooo, it's a question of time' cool
why do people not go to Afghanistan and Pakistan? Because life is not secured there. It does not matter how much money is there to be made, the risk is not worth it. Security is everything! Your appeal and charm is tied to the sense of security and trust you project. Abia can have all the oil in Nigeria, if its unsecured no one will go there to live.
Security in Nigeria is relative be it in South East, South South, South west, North Central except for the North west and North East! It seems I will never understand your point, let's put everything to rest then cool
Politics › Re: Pupils In Enugu Study On Bare-Floor, Leaking Roof by tomakint: 4:31pm On Feb 25, 2013
Schools like this one are in their hundreds of thousands around Nigeria and this is why the 'standard of education' in Nigeria and Africa besides South Africa are not respected by the 'Whites'! What a big shame on the part of our so-called leaders cool
nobody is holding igbo back....igbo is destroying imploding on itself. some years back Igbo had an enemy and it was Nigeria. Nigeria is ready for a new face....but is Igbo readsy to present that new face? Your new enemy is Biafra.
...was there not a plan to re-integrate them back into the 'Union' shortly after the war? What did Gowon achieved with that Project? He abandoned it along the way and since that time he missed the mark that's why the 'clown' can never be in my good book! Now look at the Igbos we so much love to hate today? They are better off and look at the North that were busy swallowing all the money today? You and I know that the Igbos have been largely vindicated by Providence cool As for your formula about the Igbos imploding as a result of the face of Biafra they are showing working against them, well to an extent you may be right but won't you agree with me that, the Biafra dream may be actualized on the long run?

Politics › Re: Jonathan To Empower Ministers Against Governors by tomakint: 2:47pm On Feb 25, 2013
Jonathan may find those governors as hard nuts to crack, hence his new move! Well, I see PDP finally imploding on the longrun (this is in line with my predictions about a One Party state) and may spread to other parties, no empire lasts forever,I think Jonathan needs those governors more if he is willing to clinch the 'Chalice' come 2015! Just my thought undecided
I like ur analysis and i would like to ask you one question, to defeat GEJ will require a lot of political calculation. from the highest eligible voters region to the least. if GEJ runs 2015 which region do you think can the opposition pick a candidate that can push or fight GEJ. if not win but give him a fight of his life. if you dont have the voters register figure i can help you out. Pls put your self as the National Chairman of the leading opposition party. Which region would you pinch your tent with to win the election in Nigeria following Nigeria'S SENTIMENTAL way of voting
You know I am a staunch supporter of the man, Jonathan (because of his good heart)! That would be revealing a big secret money cannot buy cool However, to let out a little, they need someone in the mold of El-Rufai, (because politically, the North still commands respect when it comes to population) and as a vice president someone in the mold of Ngige! But everything still bores down to Jonathan's performance come 2014!
He will pull crowd in south east but not in supposedly ACN and CPC strongholds?

Why?

This is getting more confusing and complicated.
Good observation, in the CPC controlled states (Northwest and Northeast) any candidate that is not of Northern extraction will still never be 'acceptable to them' as for the ACN controlled state, the numbers of registered voters from the ruling party (PDP) is still overwhelming and some parties like accord, labour party and other lilliputians will definitely tow the path of PDP when the time comes, got it now? cool
Politics › Re: APC: Ngige For President by tomakint: 11:56am On Feb 25, 2013
In as much as I have my respect for the person of Chief Chris Ngige, I am cocck sure if fielded for the Presidential Aspirant of APC he will definitely pull crowd in the South east few crowd in the South west, limited supporters in the South-South, few supporters in the North-east, many supporters in the North-west and limited supporters in the North-central. The moral of the political calculation here is that Jonathan will still carry the day! undecided Still tantamount to waste of efforts, I am watching cool
