Ha ha! A convincing 3 points in the bag. Man city is the only hard nut I see for Arsenal this season but for this win, I proudly say UP GUNNERS!!! |
Hmmn! so many threads on relationship are making frontpage these days. Na wa o! |
@Chaircover, I must commend you. Ladies who can say the blunt truth like that are rare. I envy Mr CC o! But seriously, keep up the attitude, it's a good one. |
This is what I keep shouting. Op, that your girl was a fellowship leader means nothing. Let her be reciting the whole Bible every morning, it still doesn't change the fact that she is a human being and not a saint. Now, I am also going to tow the line of Chaircover and the rest by telling you to let her go. She doesn't deserve you. Thank God she even displayed all these now that you are not yet married. In addition to sending her away, make sure you retrieve everything expensive you bought for her. That would teach her a lesson that there is more to life than money. I know it may hurt but you just have to let her go and move on with your life. Good luck. |
Smh for this country |
The OP has some good points but messed up by generalising. From experience, I agree some 'born again' sisters are plain mumus. Ask them anything other than Bible, and they are lost. They are heavenly minded but earthly useless. You see them all active in church or fellowship but struggling to graduate with a pass. All you hear is 'the Lord would help us' while they have no realistic plan or line of action of their own. I am a christian but bluntly speaking, I detest such ladies. In my opinion, being born again is something that must reflect in your entire life. Though, born again christians are said not to be of this world, the reality is that they are IN this world. The only thing is that they have to go about their normal earthly duties with the consciousness of heaven in mind. So, my advise for my fellow true christian brothers is to shine your eyes so as not to end up with a mumu as a wife all in the name of getting married to a 'born again' |
Well, for me, I think it's because the fear of being turned down, just like somebody said earlier. |
swhiss: A lot of people marry outside their church and they fail to realise how wrong that is....The apostle paul admonishes christains to ''marry only in the Lord'' [1corinthians 7:39, 11:11]Did you read your post well before submitting it? 'Marry only in the Lord' and 'Marry only from your church' do they mean the same thing? Don't try to sound holier than Jesus himself! It's one thing to read or know the Bible, it's another to understand it. |
Her explanation shows she was only a churchgoer and never a christian. 'Churchianity' is different from Christianity. No one would experience the life in Christ and want to go back into darkness. I pray she encounters Christ before it's too late. |
ITbomb: He gave the OP his advice then later curiously ask which tribe do practice that. You get time o! I chose to ignore her. Anyone that cannot comprehend such an extremely simple explanation is not worth my time. By the way, where is the OP sef? |
fairlyisabel: OP abeg your sister should divorce cheat or better still get a lover because the man has no sense of respect for her. If your sister was the one kissing his younger brother like he does to you do you think that house will still contain them both, i doubt. Abeg let your sister divorce him or get a boy friend mstchewwwwThis your advice is somehow o! Cutting off the head is not the solution to a mild headache. |
Chillisauce: Why some people never get tired to put a tribe before personality amaze me.Come on Chilli, why is it hard for you to read and comprehend a simple post? Did you read the OP's posts at all? Did you even read my post at all? I have already advised the OP before I asked for her tribe, so the issue of tribe before personality is ruled out. She said where she is from, after her father, the brother-in-law is next. That sounds a little strange to me and that was the reason I asked for her tribe. I am not trying to spite her tribe or something, it's just for knowledge sake. Do you now understand? |
Op (veryunlucky), I'm not trying to sound tribalistic but I have to ask which tribe you are from. @ileobatojo, yeah, I sensed it too right from the first post, I just didn't want to jump into conclusions but going by her most recent post, I think I get a clearer picture. OP, well, my advice for you remains the same. Just be careful and always use your head. I am assuring you again that if you fail to use your head and end up wrecking your sister's home, just don't come to Nairaland to cry o! By the way, I would still love to know where you are from. |
Op, since you said you are 20, that age is the age when your hormones would deceive you alot. However, you have to think with your head not your heart or mind, you don't want to wreck your sister's home do you? See, if you give in to your emotions and come back here to express your guilt, I would personally condemn you. So flee from your sister's husband. Simple! |
^^^ See, the Holy Book says flee every APPEARANCE of evil. The solution to your problem is simple. Anytime he makes any silly move, resist him sternly and leave that place. You are talking about emotions, you better cut that out and be firm. Reason with your head, not your mind. Resist him sternly and damn the consequences. You have to be very strong though. Good luck. |
Things like this make me wonder if there is any hope for this country. Even if the older generation has failed, shouldn't the youths learn from their mistakes and stand for what is right. These f.ools have decided to mortgage their future for #4000, what a shame! |
Beautiful or not, I hate snakes! |
Right from the minute I saw the story, I knew it was false. Well, this is the season of competition but really, you don't need to tarnish anyone's image in order to win an election. |

Oritsejafor should be ashamed of himself! He has only succeeded in bringing shame to christianity. |
Still @Davo93. Now to the other issues you raised. Concerning the issue of same sex marriage, we all know that the idea sounds absurd to us here. It is against any culture in the country that is why the legislators vehemently refused to approve it. I noticed that you did not say anything concrning the case of ASUP that I mentioned. To the best of my knowledge, they carried the legislators along. It was even at their instance that those guys called off their strike. Now tell me what has been done ever since. I agree there has been a slight improvement in the allocation to education but where is the effect in any university? Most of the recent constructions going on in most universities are either being sponsored by individuals or corporate bodies, so where is the government. On the issue of internally generated funds, I quite agree with you. I also know that the lecturers also contributed to the decay in the system but there are still a very large number of hardworking ones among them but these ones have no equipment to work with. You might end up crying if you take a trip to the laboratories in our universities. See, the truth is that government has to wake up and face the challenges and I think strike is the wake up bell needed. |
@Davo93, you want to create work for me abi. The issue of the PIB will likely take an entire thread. Well, let me see if I can do a very brief overview of the whole issue. The PIB has been before NAss since 2008. It is a bill that seeks to provide for the establishment of a legal, fiscal and regulatory framework for the Nigerian Petroleum industry. The bill aims among other things to deregulate the downstream sector, enhance the develoment of Nigerian content in the industry, bring gas supply to an optimum level. Though the bill as it is now would require some amendments, its eventual passage would also positively affect some areas in the power sector as well. Another important aspect of the bill is that it seeks to reform the NNPC and establish other 'mini' institutions within the industry. Ok, let me stop here but if you really want to know more about the whole issue, you can do a more detailed search on google. Maybe you should type something like "the contents of the Petroleum Industry Bill in NIgeria" There are lots of materials you can read on the issue. Shortage of MB would not allow me put some of them here for you, but do a more detailed search on google, you should be able to get something you can understand. |
^^^ POC...'what effort did he make to bring about a change?' *my phone is not good at modification* |
@Davo93, I see a lot of sense in your posts. The issue of strategic dialogue makes a whole lot of sense. However, let me quickly remind you that this is Nigeria, I doubt if such idea would work. The legislature is also part of government and the Nigerian government as a whole is insincere. We all know the benefits of the PIB, yet the same legislature has refused to pass it. Do you want to tell me that the legislators do not know that the amount allocated to education in the annual budget is far below standard, why haven't they been speaking out or rejecting the budget? Dimeji Bankole visited a number of universities when he was the speaker of the lower house, what effort did he make bring about a change? Let me also remind you that ASUP carried the legislature along all through their own negotiations (to the best of my knowledge), yet they have nothing to show for it now. Finally do you also realise that ASUU is not the only union on strike as of now? See, the truth is the Nigerian government as a whole is grossly insincere and the way things are now, strike is the only way to re-awaken the government. |
amara.lizzy%40y:I went through some of your posts on this site and majority of them made little sense. More importantly, I was able to discover that you are a member of Chosen. I feel highly disappointed in myself for quoting you initially. I should have known better. You guys are one of the most foolish set of people I've ever come in contact with. I see you people almost on daily basis on the streets of Lagos and all I do is pity you. You guys think you know all and when you meet someone who is more knowledgeable than you are, you resort to name calling, typical nature of a fool. You better get get out of that place you call church and find a better church that sharpens you on every side otherwise you would only continue to wallow in your foolishness. I am not going to degrade myself any further by replying you. Have a nice sleep if you wish. |
Op, though I couldn't finish your writeup, I must commend the writer for some good writing skills i noticed. Now to the main issue. I think the question we should ask ourselves is 'who or what is the cause of the incessant strikes we have been exeriencing ever since?' I'm sure your answer would be the government. The truth is that the country's educational system is in ruins and the government is not ready to act. We all know that strike is not a good thing but someone or something has to force the government to act and from what I have seen so far, strike is that thing. A government that signed an agreement since 4 years ago and did not implement it, do you think such a government would do anything if the lecturers continue to teach in the name of 'strike is not the way forward'. Let's stop deceiving ourselves with grammer and sentiments, until we stand up and address the cause of the problems facing the system, things would not be right. |
Ha ha! SW is moving forward. Amosun ma ba'se re lo. Haters can come and hug the transformer on my street! Omo Yoruba lemi o! Proudly Yoruba! |
I knew that story was false immediately I saw the source. Thank God I wasn't in a hurry to type RIP. Mods abeg close that thread! |
