You will appreciate your looks when you turn 35 or 40. My mates looks 45 now.

For me, I still look like I'm in my late 20s or early 30s.

I tell you! You will love it more in your old age. My dad is 71 but looks 60.

Your case is a lesson to other men out there planning on having more than 3.

It's sad that family planning never worked out for you. I call on young men and women of nowadays to adopt more strict and safer methods of family planning that will ensure they do not reproduce more than intended number.

Imagine the wealth you give to the last two kids was used to strengthen the first three kids you had. I'm sure that the first three would have been more balanced than they are now if it were so, and also you'll have less worries or headache at your old age.

Even when after you have finished having three kids and you blow to the point your wealth is too much surplus for just three kids, devil is testing you please don't go and now born more, wealth can be deceiving, instead open an NGO and help the teeming orphans in the society. Don't start borning more to make it five kids because wealth can be very deceiving and can vanish in a second after you had increased the number thinking you can now cater for five kids, leaving you surprised on how to now cater for 5 kids. That is case of my dad who increased his number after blowing. The wealth vanished and we had very rough teenage. Please stick to your number when you eventually over-blow, that is the lesson. If you look for what to do with money, do charity.

Regardless, for you the deed has been done. Please do not regret having the 5 kids now, it will affect your affection for them. Love them unconditionally and keep on working hard to cater for them, with faith things can eventually turn around for the better for you.

Thanks for the advice. Honestly it has never been any easy for me since I have the fifth one. Plans have been made for all five.

Accounts has been opened for all five for their education as I do strict monthly deposits to their accounts and they are my benefactors on my life insurance policy with AIICO.

I'm planning on going for vasectomy surgery. But I'm just afraid to do it.

After I had 3 kids I did family planing. Now, I have 5 kids. Family planning failed me twice.

I could have floushed them but no, I cant abort my own blood.

Things are not that easy for me, but I dont mind putting on rags to give my kids the best. They are all I've got.

What an experience? This thread just remind me of 10 years back. Bedbugs! Little demons.

Getting rid of the bedbugs itself is not the solution but the eggs. I tried all sorts of chemicals but they keep coming until an Idea came into my head one late hot night.

Very hot water is the solution. It cost me nothing but worked wonders. I took it as a duty for 3 weeks non stop every night (Monday to Saturday) and every Sunday morning to pour hot water at every of their hideouts.

Chemicals dont kill the eggs but the bugs and the eggs hatches everyday. Take every affected things out and pour it with very hot water. Sprinkle your walls, floors just almost everywhere you know they could be hiding.

Your curtains, mattress, bedsheets. I didnt mind I got my mattress soaked for almost 3 weeks.

Its been 10 years now. I've never seen one bedbug in my house. If bedbug invade your apartment you will understand mosquitoes are learners.

Please take the strain and do the method I did. I had to do it at nights due to I leave early for work then.

I really feel una pains. My skin then! Chai! I no wan reason am.

This post is why I keep thinking Nairaland is becoming useless.

Someone made a post without good research or whatever, it's in frontpage boom!

The things spoken of here happen in any city. Except the OP was living in a village before now.

With the nonsense things he wrote, he painted all Uyo girls with one brush. So my friend Edima that works hard to send herself through university and is currently job-hunting will not get a man because of one idiotic post.

Seun, your forum is becoming useless. Tell your mods to push reasonable things to the frontpage.

They push trash to front page all for traffic. Useless headlines on front page. I'm so sure this is a directive from Seun himself.

All his MODs go haywire whenever they see useless posts. They develop itching fingers whenever a senseless post is dropped. In minutes all you see is trash on front page. Lots of useful posts are left.

Sometimes you see a very useful post grace front page after a year or two. The only people keeping nairaland relevant are the tribalists, bigots and the religious extremists. These are their targets.

Romance / Re: My Parents Refused To Accept My Suitor by Toneyo(m): 7:37am On Sep 27, 2019
I have a friend whose younger brother married before him. His younger brother found a woman he wants to marry but his parents refused all because she is from Imo state. This said man is from Anambra.

The union was dissolved and he married his parents preferred choice. My friend had same issue. He found himself entangled with woman from Imo state and precisely Mbaise woman. Same thing his parents did but he followed his heart and went ahead and married her.

Today, my friend his still happily married. 9 years now. And each time we come to contact he put his wife on high esteem. He always says she is the best thing that has happened to him. Her people are the best inlaws so far among the brothers wives.

The one that married his parents preferred choice, the woman is the trouble in that family. Every December she causes trouble. Evert August meeting she will always have fights with the senior wives in the family. No respect for her mother inlaw. She will farm where is not given to her as her portion.

Parents are not always right. Sometimes they push you to your doom.

Just like my friend Kunle I met in secondary school (we are still friends till today) got an Igbo girl pregnant. She bore him a daughter but Kunle's people refused him to marry her because she is an Igbo. Kunle later married his parents preferred choice (a beautiful Yoruba lady).

Till day they are accusing her of being the cause to the cardiac arrest that took the life of my friend's mom. She always fights her mother inlaw and wouldn't give breathing space. No child yet for Kunle from that lady.

Lucky enough, the Igbo girl wasnt yet married, Kunle had to retrace his step and got a second wife. She has 3 for him now.

My brother, sometimes parents decisions in our lives can bring us pains or ruins.

With respect to all the diverse opinion been shared and given to you, I will give you my own candid advice and a bit of life experience there's a African proverb which says what an Elder sees while sitting a child might not see it even while standing or even climbing a tree, if you parents says no to your suitor it doesn't mean they hate you or they dont want your happiness where's there's no event there won't be history, you are 26yrs old your generation are the info tech age where social media, opinion are valued and where you feel like doing your own thing in your own way and parent advice don't count, dont do things you might later regrets later in life, yes 3 years of courtship is a long one with all the commitment and the promise of love, however wedding is a day, marriage is along lifetime journey full of ups and down, let go if they asked you to let go, before you regrets you action with a bitter tears our parents our little God's here on earth, they see ahead of us, they know what's best for us, we might not agree with them all the time and they might not be equally correct all the time but when it comes to life decision as this trust me, they have their reasons let go the best will come your way for good there reasons against your wish is beyond marrying mbaise people.

Cheers.

There was never a proverb that says 'if you see a snake and an Mbaise man' bla bla bla. It is just a stereottpe from a.musician that had a misunderstanding with an Mbaise man.

I've come to.meet a lot of Mbaise people both male and female and they are wonderful people. Smart, kind, wise and sharp. There are bad ones amongst them too just like we have in any tribe.

I once had one as a female friend back then as a boy down to my adulthood. Very kind lady. I never knew she is an Mbaise lady until I got invitation for her wedding. I mean I've known this lady since I was a boy till I left that area as an adult in 2006.

Abeg make una dey travel and meet people instead of all this yeye stereotypes everywhere. Even the dreaded Fulanis have good souls among them.

This is the reason I dont like to visit nairaland or I just remain on ghost mode and read comments. Nairalamd has become the home for tribalism, religious war and stereotyping one tribe or the other.

This forum could have been the best place to unite Nigerians but no the MODEs are always quick to push useless post that turns the country apart all for traffic.

Abeg Nigerians try visit 'quora' and get enlightened with beautiful posts and comments. I bet you won't regret it. Come, visit and see sound Nigerians both home ans diaspora.

Sister, abeg try talk to your parents. At least the guy no date you for three years and say him no do again. In fact him even propose to you and want go see your parents.

That's is a good sign he is responsible and loves you. How many men ready for marriage this days?

I usually dont comment on Nairaland anymore due to what it has turned into, but your cry for help drew my attention cause I just bought an Hisense refrigerator 4 days ago.

At 1st the fridge appears not to work as expected after 2 hours of use until I went through the manual and I discovered that I have to allow it to work for 4 to 5 hours at the minimal temperature unloaded (that's for the freezer to stabilislzer the temperature).

I did that yesterday evening for 6 hours and as of today I increased the temperature to level 5 and ran my gen for 5 hours from 7AM to 12PM. Up till now the contents in my feezer are still frozen and the fridge still cool as I typed this.

To those people shouting tribalism, there is no tribalism here. It is a known fact that more than 95% of the Nigerians busted for drug trafficking worldwide are igbo. Statistically speaking, its even higher. Indonesia, Thailand, India, Vietnam, China, Australia, Singapore and South Africa, all have millions of Nigerians of Igbo extraction in their prisons. There is no tribalism in pointing out these obvious facts. Igbos are well known criminals worldwide. Fact!!!

Your hatred for the Igbos is so alarming. No one comment a day from you without mentioning the Igbos or IPOB.

Crime / Re: Two Nigerians Executed In Saudi Arabia Over Drug Trafficking by Toneyo(m): 12:01pm On Jan 31, 2018
kolawoleibukun:
Saudi Arabia is a very deadly place to be. Firstly, I do not support drugs and secondly I cannot totally agree to the allegation that those guys actually dealt with drugs. If you have ever been to Saudi Arabia you would understand the sense in my thought. The country has a record of human right abuse and it is a sharia state that does not respect any foreign nationals. They can label any charge on you and no one can contest it especially if you do not speak Arabic. They are liars and egregious Barbarians who are high on their stink oil money. They treat people like ulcer and they want to be worshipped at all cost.

Nigerian representatives in almost all of our consulates in foreign lands also have a record of neglect and unpatriotic assistance to Nigerians suffering (in prisons) abroad. Our ambassadors do not care about us and many Nigerians do not even know their representatives in the lands they reside. When you visit the Nigerian consulates in many countries, you will find foreigners working in key positions and these people do not understand our local languages not even pidgin. How can foreigners understand our plights in a foreign land? The phone numbers are not working in the consulates, there is no lawyer known to represent Nigerians in the law courts, no referral to someone who can help, in some cases there is no one to attend to Nigerians visiting the embassy. Sometimes you are asked to return 2 weeks later to see someone who will in turn give you a future date. It is such a gory and scary situation for Nigerians living abroad. Other consulates make extra effort to ensure the safety of their nationals while our ambasadors are flex with foreign women and shake hands with dirty deals. Does it strike you why many Nigerians living abroad return to Nigeria to renew their passports? The answer will shock you. Most people just do not want to make the headlines therefore they say nothing about it.

Nigerians are languishing in foreign jails and it is easy to throw the stone because we feel that we are in Nigeria. Many Nigerians are honest and zealous with their works yet the stigma lands them in jail. Not that they are guilty of any crime but anything labelled on Nigerians get a pass as long as it is negative. Our image has been gravely tarnished and it is this way because our giovernment keeps quiet and keeps pointting fingers. Once you talk about drugs, the Yoruba and Hausa look out for an Igbo name. We keep pelting stones but the reality is that the whites do not know the difference between Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa. The reality is that drug is not associated with any tribe but with the orientation given to a person. I have seen Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba in serious drug business and no one can tell me that drug belongs to a particular tribe.

We have a president in Aso rock today who is guilty of trying to move a consignment containing a kidnapped human being who was still breathing and packaged like an ordinary manufactured material in 1984. If a president would dare to move a human being disguised like ordinary goods, what punishment should befit him? Why are our nationals not protected yet we keep paying billions of our naira to ambassadors and ministers? Why are they so insensitive to the plights of Nigerians abroad?

Come what may, if not today one of your family members will have the need to travel to a foreign land. Before you label these guys criminals, make sure that they are rightly criminalized for the exact crime that they committed because it might be your relative tomorrow begging for his life for something that he does not know about.

Are we allowed to say a thing? Do we have a voice? Sadly, we don't because the same masses that you speak out for are the very ones to pelt you for no reason.

What a comment? The best I have seen this year on nairaland.

I wish bigots will read this and have their minds changed the way they keep plunging this country with tribalism and religious divide.

Well done Sir.

Evegreen:

You can state your opinion without insulting. As per this issue, this is an alleged case of rape which hasn't been fully investigated. The man is an alleged rapist; until proven otherwise. The lady supported her claim with a video evidence: the man has no evidence to back up his own story. It might have been a case of misunderstanding indeed, but that's still not an established fact as at the present time. When you go through peoples' comments here, you will no many have already taken sides. I'm saying let's wait for the police report before concluding.

People took side of the lady at first when the video was uploaded on snapchat. She reported the case to snapchap not the police.

People had a change of mind when they heard the guy's own side of the story. His was more coherent unlike the lady that first reported to snapchat. She gave evidence yet mute/censored some part of the video. What does that indicate?

The case here is just disagreement and misunderstanding. She doesn't have to go that far. Just like the one that happened in Abuja some weeks back.

People already rained curses on the guy and some waiting to be accepted to pour more fuel.

Well. I'm very sure the guy will get justice except thr police fail to do their jobs. Expert here have investigated this case already and she is the one lying.
