Kobojunkie:What you fail to understand is, no matter how much the current decayed infrastructure is upgraded, it cannot cater to the demand for These schools you are referring to, what was Nigeria's population when they were built ? What is Nigeria's population now ? You can't use the same number of universities to cater to when Nigeria had 60 million people and expect to use them now that the country has around 130 million people. No matter how well the universities are kept, more schools just have to be built. And again, it boils down to the leadership. If GEJ has the will, he can build these 6 new schools successfully. |
Kobojunkie:Good. I am glad we are on the same page on this ![]() Kobojunkie:It is all about leadership. If we have the right leadership in place, it can be done. If a Nigerian govt can build schools like Nsukka, Ife, Ibadan etc that have produced a nobel prize laureate, then why can't they do this? |
Kobojunkie:It is true that we need to revamp the unis we currently have. Bear in mind that the ones we have were built to cater to a certain number of students. They can't be stretched any further. Imagine, out of 1.3 million JAMB candidates, only 300,00 can be admitted. We need more universities in that country. |
I have learned a lot from this thread. Please keep it up people. I want to make a comment :- I think it was right for the AG to dismiss Akintola from the party for anti-party activities. Also, Tafawa Balewa played a big role in the crises in the west by siding with Akintola. Balewa should have let the party (AG) determine the western premier after Akintola's ouster (or have new elections conducted) rather than wielding his federal power as prime minister and siding with Akintola. Abuse of power by Balewa played a big role in the crises that ensued in the west in the early '60s. It seems Akintola just wanted to hold on to power at all cost. It seems he did away with any principle he had in exchange for holding on to power. Nevertheless, he accomplished a lot for the west during his tenure. |

Aloy emeka is always coming up with threads demeaning yorubas/yoruba land Case in point: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-480529.0.html#msg6406171 Mariory summarizes his mind set here: [size=15pt]I think this all stems from the fact that recently some folks have been posting stories of development success in Lagos. |
The moderator should move this thread to this board https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/board-40.0.html That's where it belongs. |
I am just glad Aloy_emeka has been exposed for what she truly is. Babapupa, Maree7 and others see right through her. She spends her whole life posting anything negative about the South West. However, when an igbo accomplishes something, she is the first to post it. I believe everyone can see right through her Mariory:GBAM! You have said it all !! Kudos to you and shame to the OP !!!!!! |
@becomerich You and this your Benin Republic business. Why don't you go to the National Assembly in Abuja or the UN in New York rather than posting all these wahala threads on Nairaland ? This your own is too much |
WilyWily:Why do you hate yoruba people so much ? |
john4sure:hmmm, it could also mean others are trying to take the little that we have going for ourself. Lets face it, nigeria itself has the same problem as South Africa, especially in the Northern part. We need to pay our teachers well so they won't flee at the first lure of money elsewhere. |
Gabry has over 19,000 posts since May 2008. I swear, some people no get job besides this nairaland ![]() |
What impact is the march going to have ? Much Ado about Nothing |
![]() On a serious note, these people must be stopped before they turn this country into another taliban era Afghanistan. If care is not taken, these muslim extremists would bring an end to the entity known as Nigeria. |
Yes; CISA's are also used in areas besides auditing. CISA certified professionals are also sought after for computer security positions. It is not uncommon to see ads seeking people with certifications such as CISSP and CISA. You can also apply a CISA for Risk Management positions. With a CISA certification and lots of experience, you have a good chance of climbing the corporate ladder as a Project Manager or even as a Partner of a firm (i.e. Top Executive). |
Nonsense. Isn't the same Waziri being used for selective justice by Yar'adua ![]() Nasir Arab that forged his records as National Assembly clerk is a free man today thanks to Waziri and Yar'adua. Adenike Grange who did not steal a kobo was arrested and arraigned by the EFCC because top health ministry officials were looting while she was the health minister. Waziri should shut the hell up. |

biina:they are not regular doctorates, they are D.sc (doctor of science) recipients. They are the same higher doctorates the OP was referring to. How are these D.sc recipients different from the one the OP was referring to ![]() |

It is what you achieve post-doctoral that makes you an icon, not the fact that you have a doctoral degree. The nobel prize winners do not get praise based on having a doctoral degree, it is what they achieved after their doctoral degree that makes them stand out in their respective fields. After receiving a doctoral degree, you have to make a great contribution to the body of knowledge to really stand out. Otherwise, you're just another doctor. There is a reason why some professors are referred to as Professor Emeritus and others aren't. |
Musiwa:Nigeria1/Becomerich/Musiwa You and this your yoruba/Rep. of benin wahala. What does this post of yours have to do with the topic of this thread ![]() |
