Car Talk / Re: Club-Lexus by tonitone1(m): 10:50am On Nov 16, 2013
JUO: this car consumed 130 litre of fuel in a distance of 360 miles with reserve light on at the end of the journey.
my brother that car is not friendly with fuel. is a good car to own but very wicked to fuel. far better than highlander although with lesser space. i need to know, does driving with all-wheel consume more fuel than 2 wheel?

@JUO.......no this not a true reflection, i had same issues, did a scan and found that the O2 sensors are bad, i asked my mechanic to go to ladipo and changed all the four o 2 sensors and my MPG moved from 6 to 18 which is the std for rx 330.....pls do a scan quickly, i am positive you will smile afterwards.....dnt let the mechanic fool you, their knowledge of this high tech car is very low.....do itand let me know
Politics / Re: Nigeria Acquires Drones? by tonitone1(m): 12:26am On Jul 14, 2013
@ShyM-X....check all rankings on the net, Nigeria is rated higher than Algeria, mind you, it's not the quantity of hardware alone that counts, quality, modern technology and a host of other tools are used to arrive at the rankings. Nb. why do you doubt that the nigerian airforce had as much as 294 aircrafts?.....sorry, that is absolutely true

The Global Fire Power ranks countries of
the world every year according to their
military strength and fire power. Up to
40 different ranking tools and
parameters are used such that a smaller
country with good military intelligence
competes favorably well with a highly
populated country with lots of great foot
soldiers.

@ ShyM-X......Please stop bashing Nigeria, where are you from?.......i can guess GHANA! like someone said, your threat level determines how you you acquire and stock weapons or military hardware....., on the other hand, your country Ghana or Gayna cannot last a day under a full blown war with Nigeria
Politics / Re: Nigeria Acquires Drones? by tonitone1(m): 6:25pm On Jul 13, 2013
@naptu2 thanks for the updates, really, if we have a serious govt, they could engage the engineering depts in nigerian universities to start design competitions with prize monies attached, you would be amazed at the outcomes.....instead of all these in fighting and instituitionalized corruption everywhere

@naptu2.....the nigerian made drone amebo, do you know if it is functional, has it ever flown?.....and to note that, its not just the ability for the drone to fly, the big deal is the ability to deploy technology for reconnaissance and payload delivery

Yeye oyibos, they still don't believe Nigeria spank Argentina fair and square, Racist, that is how they cleared Blatter and refuse to clear all the African and Asian descent exec members in Fifa,

If they think it is a fluke, they should organise a rematch in Argentina and ensure that Messi is included, Thank God Guinness is planning to bring on Spain next, and this time around they should bring in their so called best, racists

if chelsea want any good result, that had better concentrate on their game rather than celebrating Torres.
saintneo:

funny thing, Torres actually started off as a goalkeeper in his early days
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/24257/Fernando-Torres?cc=5739The last time someone really loved by the Kops left (Michael Owen 2004), he left because he felt Liverpool don't have CL quality in them. What happened? 2005 Liverpool stunned Milan at Istanbul to claim the trophy. YNWA!

Torres will aurely end up like Owen

Just look to the North of South Africa and look how the once prosperous Rhodesia, the breadbasket of Africa, is now starving and completely coming apart as a gangland and rotten dictatorship grown from nepotism/despotism. South Africa is a facade, its gonna collapse, because no matter how much money we throw at this raqcial divide mess, and no matter how hard the media tries to paint a pretty picture of balckness, the black run government is heading for a cliff and determined to drive everyone off the cliff like lemmings, I think we should go back to the way things were 50 years ago, and throw Mandela and his criminal wife back in jail and this time throw away the key for good. No more aid. Survival of the fittest, like Nigeria and Liberia, and every single country in sub sahara Africa, a rotten mess that was once kept civilized by colonialism. Lets go back to that, it worked and worked well.

@Rossike

Okay take all the bio-data of leaders in Africa, i mean all and plot a simple pie chart or histogram of their age group, say 40-50, 60-70, and > 80 and do same with the developed world, i.e. Europe and USA including Japan, then do a like for like comparison, you will surely be amazed at the outcomes, it would definitely not be different from the main theme of this topic

Facebook influences Nigeria football team ban U-turn

E-mail this to a friend Printable version Goodluck Jonathan set up his Facebook page last week Nigeria's president has said the hundreds of posts on his Facebook page helped persuade him to reverse his suspension of the national football team from international competition.

"I have listened to your voices," Goodluck Jonathan said in a posting on the social networking site.

He had banned the team for two years after their poor World Cup campaign.

He overturned his decision ahead of a Monday deadline from the football world governing body to expel Nigeria.

Under Fifa rules, government interference with national teams is strictly forbidden.

The president lifted the ban after the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) promised to disband and rebuild the side.

"I read your comments and took them into account in the government's decision to rescind the suspension of Nigeria from international football," Mr Jonathan said on Facebook on Tuesday.

The president, who only set up his Facebook page at the beginning of last week - two days before he banned the Super Eagles - has more than 76,000 Facebook followers.

"I had a meeting with the NFF today and conveyed my disappointment and those of Nigerians on this page and received assurances that there will be positive changes," he said.

"We must now work together to make sure that the NFF and our players do us proud in future events," he said, ending the message with his initials "GEJ".

Nigeria's Super Eagles were knocked out in the group stages of the World Cup taking place in South Africa without winning a game.

Shagari: North Needs to Reward S’South’s Past Support
2011

Deputy governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Mukhtari Shehu Shagari has called on politicians from the North to be cautious in the way they emphasised the issue of zoning in deciding the next president. He said the North naturally owes it a duty to compensate the people from the South-South zone, who have supported the North in all the political arrangements the country has operated in the last 50 years.
In an interview with THISDAY in Sokoto at the weekend, Shagari said President Goodluck Jonathan has every right like every other Nigerians to contest for the presidency next year.

He said: “I believe it is time for people of the North to reward the South-South for their loyalty in the past because I cannot remember at anytime in the history of the country when the South-South did not go along with the North. So, I think we should also reciprocate the gesture and if at the end of the day, the PDP decides to field Jonathan as the presidential candidate, I believe it is the duty of the North, especially the Northwest, to support him because one good turn deserves another.
“We should not make this thing to look as if it is tribal, ethnic or regional. Some people are now saying that Jonathan should not contest and power should remain in the North. I want to remind them that the South-South for over 50 years have been supportive to the political aspirations of the North. Thus, if today somebody from South-South is in power, it is just like our own brother whose people have been very supportive of ours in the past.”

According to him, the debate over zoning of the presidency is strictly an internal affair of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and if eventually the party decides to pick Jonathan as the presidential candidate, million of Northerners will vote for him to make sure he wins, irrespective of the threat by some politicians from the Northern part of the country.
“I believe Jonathan can deliver and once he delivers, then Nigerians will now decide whether he is the right person to be voted for or not. Just like I have said earlier, if the PDP fields him as a candidate, we will campaign for him and I can assure you that Nigerians and Northerners in particular will vote for him,” Shagari added.

The former minister of water resources noted that the country is in dire need of a purposeful and visionary leadership because the infrastructure in the country is in very serious decay, while there is need for the economy of the country to be given serious attention.
He said it is time for politicians to start thinking more of Nigeria as a nation and stop all this tribal and ethnic politics. Shagari added that what is really important is for Nigerians to choose a president that will turn the nation around and improve its infrastructure, security and power.

He emphasised that these are the issues that should really worry Nigerians, rather than where the presidential candidate of a particular party comes from. He appealed to Nigerians to give Jonathan the support he needs to deliver the promises made to Nigerians in the areas of power, security and infrastructure.
On the recent appointment of Professor Attahiru Jega as INEC Chairman, Shagari described the INEC chief as a hard-working and upright man from a good family.
He expressed optimism that Jega will do whatever he can to ensure he conducts a free, fair and credible election and that votes will count in 2011 elections.
