CultureRe: An Insight Into The Ijaws Of South South Nigeria by tonte(m): 1:15pm On Sep 14, 2014
obonoma? are you really sure u know where u are even talking about? I'm from abonema, and it's on the same island as Obonoma, we speak entirely the same thing, and we are in the same local govt, and belong to the same clan/sect/family...and we have nothing to do with your brand of Degema that u speak of, I don't know the Usokun and Atala people at all as this is even my first time of hearing about them so I can't speak on them...Degema is entirely Kalabari...and as all Kalabari's we never agree/admit that we are Ijaw the same way Ikewerre people never admit/agree that they are Ibo...but We all belong to the Ijaw Nation

pazienza: Degema LGA, is not the same as Degema group. I am well aware of the fact that there are Kalabari groups that are present in Degema LGA.
But when i say Degema, i mean the Atala people, Obonoma and Usokun people, and not the Ijoid people that found themselves in Degema LGA. Thanks.
CultureRe: An Insight Into The Ijaws Of South South Nigeria by tonte(m): 10:21am On Sep 14, 2014
anyway, I'm Kalabari, and for a long time I've heard arguments and counter arguments that either Kalabari's are not Ijaw, or Kalabari's are the real Ijaws...but either ways, I'm so proud of my heritage, history and ancestry...we all about Love, Peace and all out enjoyment for any kind of celebration, birthdays, Marriages, funerals, even celebrations that are uncalled for like "Go to Niger" (that's a carnival that celebrates the anniversary of our defeat to the Nigerian forces during the civil war) I always wondered why that was celebrated with so much crowd and funfare...we sure do not like to be cheated or marginalised out of what we think should be our rights( which should explain the Asari Dokubo led uprising in 2006), we have a very beautiful diverse choice of tasty sea food, as well as very lovely women, examples are Agbani Darego and Damiete Charles-Granville, who were beauty queens.... I wish I could host maybe 1 or 2 nairalanders from the north and Southwest for a chirstmas week, so you guys should know that there really is no party like a Kalabari party in Nigeria...okay I think I have talked too much bye bye
CultureRe: An Insight Into The Ijaws Of South South Nigeria by tonte(m): 10:13am On Sep 14, 2014
but Degema is part of the Kalabari Kingdom, and the Kalabari kingdom is part of the Ijaw Nation, infact Degema local govt contains degema, Harry's town, Bakana and Tombia...these are purely Kalabari towns that speak only the Kalabari language...so how is Degema not Ijaw?

pazienza: 1. Andonis are not Ijaws, they are not even Ijoid, they are a distinct group of their own, but if any big ethnic group is to claim them, then it's the Ibibio/Efik/Annangs, as Andoni language is closest to theirs. Andoni language has few Igbo words and little or No Ijaw ones. Ijaws should stop mistaking having a riverine/fishing culture for being Ijaw.

2. Nobody is talking about Ikwerres here, however, it's an established fact that Ikwerres speak an Igboid language. We can't say the same of Andoni and Ijaw.

3. Opobo remains an Igbo speaking town, and it's citizens had resisted every move to Ibanize them,by the then Ijaw controlled Rivers state government.

4. Have no resentment for the Ijaws, i am just happy that they have at last accepted the fact that neither the Degemas nor the Andonis are Ijaws.

5. I dont remember bringing Igbo into the thread, just stated the sacred facts.

Thank you.

SA with it's high crime rate and his disability as well, makes him have a need to carry a firearm should in case a burglar breaks into his home and his legs are far from him and he can't run...his only option then would be to defend himself with the firearm...but his shooting of his babe is just something nobody can really explain

NairaMode: Funny thing a bout this case is if it were an ordinary citizen anywhere in the world, the case wouldn't take this long.
It's so painful that with the guys challenges and the wealth that the Almighty God gave to him and his talent, this is what would eventually become of his faith.
What did he need a gun for in the first place?

My guess is the girl broke the news that she was calling the relationship quit. Nigga was embittered and pop pop he shot the soul. Framed all the screams and kept giving different lies upon lies during the trial. Cried several times to connect with the jury's emotions and the world over but in the end justice prevailed.

Law and justice is a little tricky. Who agrees with me that this guy may actually not be guilty but in law they deal with evidences, circumstances and witnesses account.
I recommend a book titled: "A certain justice" by PD James. Ohhh!!! When I used to read novels.

After serving as a chief of army staff? Why would any self respecting General stoop as low as wanting to become his state governor? That's retardation in growth, nobody should wish or hope that upon him, he has achieved way higher than that office

Bliss4Lyfe: Dey said dey will take Ihejirika to Hague but no one thought it will be for sponsoring terrorism. grin grin grin grin grin

Ihejirika will win Abia State come 2015 convincingly.

lol, just seeing this...yea, had mad fun, fucking rain ruined what should have been epic, ended up bangin a hot cougar...

MrCork: ..zup bro...yesterday was the children's carnival but today,Monday,is the main one. It finishes around 7.pm but make sure u land around.2pm. Come out at Holland park station or notthinghill gate station...ir will be crowded though. Once u get out of the station, ask any policeman for the direction to adela street....that's the Nigerian corner..u will see all 9jas ...afro beat section.. But take note..while u walking down,u will see the carnival....i beg...hold yo wallet tight and keep some stand by money in yo inner pocket..make sure u wear trainers so u can move around easily. ..my advise, don't spend too much time in the Nigerian section coz they r boring..juss posing...u will not press any nyansh..spend about 30 mins there and then always make sure u ask the police for directions coz too many side street. Alternatively. If u see anyone carrying Nigerian flag..roll with them... People. Hav already started heading there and am on ma way...remember..make sure u adj any police for directions...they. R very good. cheesy

lool die in poverty

Idrismusty97: - Project Management
- Horticulture
- Transport Management Technology
- Water Resources
- Philosophy
- Latin

They are all beautiful courses. But employers would rather go for someone with a degree in Civil engineering than most of those courses. They are great when you have it at masters level.
