So, because there's oil from another state - Enugu state won't and shouldn't tap into its mineral resources that are not in the exclusive list - in order to sustain itself?
This dumb logic is the major reason why many states are not viable, hence they inability to pay salaries.
you must be yoruba to curse ...i know but has enugu said that they cant sustain itself, maybe do you think that apart from natural resources that there are no other ways to sustain themselves

Nairaland GeneralRe: Which Tribe of Nigeria Is Largest In-terms Of Population(both home and diaspora? by tonychristopher: 7:47am On Jun 26, 2015
Slizbeat:
Having done my research for a while, i discovered something: that the largest tribe isnt the hausa's, what the hausas do is to count their goats and cow during census and proclaim themselves the largest in order to get more allocation from the federal govt. The yorubas and the igbos are by far larger than the hausas. Including those at diaspora. Then again i thought the yorubas are more in population but i did more research and found out that the igbos seems more.
REASON- According to wikipedia, igbos are of different kinds which of the majority are the Igbo Nigerians, others include the Igbo Americans that are majorly found at virginia, new york, boston e.t.c, Igbo britons, Igbo jamaicans, Igbo chinese e.t.c. and they are 45-49million. Just search "IGBOS" on wikipedia and go through it. Not that the yorubas dont have many at diaspora such as there are yorubas at BENIN, TOGO and GHANA(pure citizens) and are over 30million in population but cant be upto that of the igbos. The hausas are 30-35 million. Again, the igbos are known to travel wide than any other tribe and are mostly sold during slave trading. So i would give mine to the igbos. What do you think and which should be given?
please this thread is meant to be peaceful. Any tribalistic sympathizer should not comment as it shouldnt raise tribal war. Just state yours, thanks.
Igbos are the only tribe that is everywhere ...there is a saying that if you visit anyplace and there isn't any igbo pls just leave there

That place has no economic prospect

Since Ibo are still shouting for Biafra and opening embassy about, most investments will shift elsewhere while waiting if they will develop sense and calm down. The unfortunate thing while waiting is most of them would have migrated to no man lands all over Nigeria where they will help the locals to develop their land like they did to Lagos.

Ibos driving investments away with Biafra agitation
I think igbo are keeping these resources for themselves till Nigeria breaks up...let us plunder the resources of other region and we can't allow dangote to make us wage slaves

We have to plunder and make use of other places resources for now use the money for our infrastructure

lawani:
The original Ife people were aliens who landed from space. The second Oduduwa was a reincarnation of the first, the second came from Mecca while the first landed from space.

Ife people agree the second Oduduwa was not an Ife man and Benin say he was an Edo man. Two things flout the Benin claim. One, Oranmiyan founded Oyo Ile when he was returning from a failed revenge expedition to Mecca. Two, the second Oduduwa mentioned to Ife people that he was a descendant of Lamurudu who can only be Nimrod. Please research Nimrod online. Those are why Oduduwa can not be a Benin man. The Benin empire was a Yoruba empire and they carried the Yoruba language to the limits of the empire. They used it as lingua franca, worshipped the deities and gave their cities Yoruba names. The Edo are not Yoruba but the Benin empire was a Yoruba empire in everything. The Igbo and Yoruba have thesame ancestors.

I have considered the two claims and arrived at the conclusion that the Benin claim is just an attempt to institutionalise the Edo origin of Oduduwa, they say Benin founded Ife but there were 90 kings in Ife before Oduduwa and 50 in Benin. It is obvious that both Benin, Oyo, Ijebu and etc were lesser than Ife originally. They were all prospective ife successors. Oyo and Ijebu were bigger than Benin. Ijebu was much bigger in the South while Oyo was in the Savanna. The site Eredo where the Awujale ruled like 1000 AD is evidence but at some point Benin became more prominent and wanted to abandon the Ife heritage.

To say Benin founded Ife is nothing short of blasphemy because nothing preceded ancient Ife. It was the first spot on Earth. What could have happened is that Benin could have become a successor Ife. There were other Ifes before the current one.
How can you say ife is the first spot on earth and cradle of civilization. Is it what they told u

there is a tradition or rather there was a tradition among the Obas that kept the Oba in the palace most time and he used to publicly come out once a year during the festival.

In the olden days and to a lesser degree even today, the Oba doesn't receive guests anyhow and doesn't dress anyhow. He ofcuz uses the traditional means.

In the olden day it was ritually forbidden for the prince to see his father on full ragalia, there is still the rumour flying around that if the omo n'ba is fully dressed he can be a force of nature when angry.

So I believe for reasons of commonsense, seperation of power, a some interesting rituals the prince isn't supposed to live with is father when of age.
Please it seems that your knowledge in benin history is impressive can I get this clarifications

Some people say that oba of benin if he dies his head would be chopped off and buried somewhere in ile ife

Two that benin are Yoruba and answerable to ooni of ife even oba

The last question is that the term oba came from yoruba or is it the other way round

I lived in benin around oliha and I am trying to know how benin and Yoruba relate...who is the elder

Then are utsen Yoruba or benin and are they answerable to oba of benin or one Yoruba oba ...their language is a mixture of Yoruba and benin

Thank u

EUROBOMBER:
I want to start by saying that I am not in support of Biafra or any attempts to break Nigeria but decided to do this write up because of some comments I read on nairaland lately. I am not in support of war and bloodshed; I am a man of peace and justice.

Nigeria will not survive a second war. Any other full blown war would lead to the complete disintegration of Nigeria and here are my reasons:

The Igbos lost the Biafran war because we had to take on the rest of Nigeria largely alone, the North and SW fought against us supported by parts of the SS. The Nigerian military was heavily armed by the Soviet Union and Great Britain and had a limitless supply of weapons. We had no access to the sea and our people were starved to death which swelled our casualty figures.

Unlike in 1967, the SS will not give Nigeria the kind of support it did during the Biafran war. A lot of SS people are not happy with Nigeria and many are already calling for a referendum, some are even calling for outright war with Nigeria so that they can break away. The SS have realised their errors in frustrating the Biafran agenda and would do all they can to help ensure the collapse of Nigeria should another war break out. They might not join the Igbos, but they would give all their support to end this union first so that they might be on their own instead continuing to bear the dead weight of the Fulani from the North.

The people of the MB will not join the core north this time to fight against the Igbos. These people are being systematically wiped out by the invading fulanis who are planning to annex their lands for cattle grazing. I have personally interacted with a lot of MB people and they are full of regrets about their role in the civil war. In the event of another war, the MB will rise up against their killers from the far north. If the Fulanis continue to kill the MB people at the current rate, then it is a matter of when not how they would eventually wipe out the MB people and take their lands.

The Yoruba would not want to be involved in any fight against the Igbos again especially if the Eastern army makes no advance towards the west like what happened during the last civil war in the march to librate Lagos from northern occupier army which had occupied the west. I am not a Yoruba man but I doubt very much that the Yoruba would willingly just jump into battle to assist the core north. The Yoruba would do all they can to try and stay out of any fighting and would prefer to be on the fence. They might however be forced into the war from either flank.
The Nigerian military is currently tied down in a frustrating battle against boko haram in the NE. Boko haram has international dimensions to it and might not end any time soon. There are foreign powers that want Nigeria to split and these powers would ensure that with a full scale war, Nigeria breaks into different parts. The Nigerian military will not be able to fight on two or three major fronts because even the military itself will crumble considering the fact that our soldiers are drawn from the various tribes. The Fulani soldiers would be isolated; the Igbo and SS soldiers would withdraw to defend the East, Yoruba soldiers would withdraw to defend the West and the MB soldiers would use the opportunity to vent against their killers.

At the end of the day, there might not be much fighting before the centre crumbles and Nigeria breaks to parts. The Igbos lost in the 1967-1970 civil war but a repeat war would yield a completely different result and that result would be the end of Nigeria.

This is a message for all those writing rubbish on nairaland, running their mouths and boasting that we would be defeated in another war. I thought I should open this thread to set the records straight for those that cannot see the writings on the wall and not to create an avenue for tribal fighting.
This is nice analysis and might end like this ...but wait what is the position of middle belt in case it happens

ABUJA—But for self-restraint, journalists covering activities at the National Secretariat of All Progressives Congress, APC, would have had a showdown with Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, who seemed ready to go physical with them.
This development followed enquiries on the outcome of a closed-door meeting between some APC governors and National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
The governors present included Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Bello (Niger), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi).

Gov Ajimobi
They had stormed the party secretariat immediately after their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari to confer with Oyegun and other members of the party’s National Working Committee.
Sources said the meeting was not unconnected to the issue of unpaid salaries and the crisis rocking the party, following the recent elections of new leaders of the National Assembly.
However, reacting to questions of what transpired at the meeting with Oyegun, Ajimobi, who apparently was not comfortable with the question, asked journalists their names and their media.
He was later to shout at the top of his voice: “I don’t know any of these media houses. So, I can’t talk.”
Some of the media represented at the party secretariat included Thisday, Telegraph, Vision FM, Leadership, Blueprint, Newsdairy, Lagos Television station, Galaxy TV, The Tide, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, and the Niche, among others.
Speaking further in Yourba language, the governor said: “I know what they want is money. Call me one of my aides to find something for them. I don’t have time for any comment.”
The journalists, upset at what some of them described as a behaviour unbecoming of a governor, ignored him.

Ekiti State University my almamata was used to be called an advanced secondary school, due to lack of buildings, nonchallant attitude of students and staffs and ferocious activities of cultist,
This had really affect the new products and end results of the university, for instances, When student lectures are fixed for 7am and they are yet to find a lecture theater until 11am, what can we say to that? And beside some students are fond of not paying there school fees after the first year clearance and graduate while owing the University, what can we equally say to that? This and many more was a catalyst that affect the growth and development of the University at the past.
The appointment of Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina as the Vice chancellor, Prof. Adanlawo Isaac aka Isotope as the Dean of student's and (retrd) Captain Ajayi Augustine the Chief Security Officer of the University; change the school ediface and we can see differences between Town-Gown which made us to call them architect of modern Ekiti State University,
Now the University is one of the best among comity of Universities.
As a graduate of the school who was a product of the then advance Secondary School and the newly modern University can say authoritatively that the EKSU will be the best University in Africa if there is advance continuity on the legacy laid by Prof. Oladipo Aina, to project the University image to the brim.
Some of us that are student activist always see those new policy by the architect then as an obnoxious policy because our students could not cope with it, e.g NO SCHOOL FEES NO EXAM, we fought against it which we taught we are helping the students, but now the policy has prevail.
My advise is there should be a working partnership between the management and the student, this will foster a cordial relationship that will suggest how the school look like, and the modus operandi.
Those who are seeking for admission should have this at their mind that EKSU is a place for reading not frivolity...
I am proud of my alma mata, once again i will appreciate prof.
Oladipo Aina, Prof.Adanlawo Isaac aka ISOTOPE (retrd) Captain Ajayi Augustine, one of the best alumni kingsley kuku the erstwhile SA to president on Niger delta affairs and every sane mind towards the new EKSU development, God bless you all.

semitunde:
You came to stay in my house and bought a stove. After some time we had a quarrel and you packed out. If I don't give the stove to you or throw it out, can you come over and claim it after you've packed out? What if I burned it? What if I didn't and said I did? How will you know? Will you be allowed entry to find out?

Let's say you sell that stove to me and I agree, if I don't pay what will you do?

You give examples of other countries like you don't have better examples here of "abandoned properties"

Better wake up.
What if I come back for the stove either peacefully or violent
