I was shocked some weeks ago when I encountered two Ohafia people speaking their dialect and they were using 'ife'. . I was like OMG! These people also speak 'ife'. Before then I thought only Anambra, Delta Igbo, Enugu and some select areas of Ebonyi used 'ife'/'ive'.
I've been to Aba twice and I noticed the variations in the dialects I heard there - ranging from anambra-like to abia-like dialects. But then I remembered that Afikpo (the last A in Abia - Aba, Bende, Isiukwuato and Afikpo) was originally part of Anambra first, then Enugu before Abia now.

Nollywood diva Tonto Dikeh is no stranger to news making. In fact, hardly is there a season without the beautiful actress in the news, trending for whatever reason. Such has left her with the toga “controversy”. Unfazed by that, the single mother of one has gained more popularity for her lifestyle and social media engagements than her showbiz career.

Recently, pictures and video of the Nollywood actress with ex- football star, Daniel Amokachi, made the rounds on a Thursday evening on the social media. The pictures and video which was first posted on her Instagram page showed Amokachi and Tonto on a date dining and later dancing to a live jazz tune from the famous Titanic movie soundtrack by Celine Dion.

Others who were at the scene cheered them. Tonto had tagged the posts with the caption “#Thebull X #Kingtonto.” “Dinner with The Bull at the newest/best Chinese restaurant in town.” The ex-international would then reply her saying: “Was a pleasure hanging out with The King @tontolet It was a good shoot… keep representing.”

i've decided never to borrow money to anyone no matter the situation is. people are wicked. one is still owing me 70k he borrowed since 2016. the other borrowed 100k 2 years ago till now, not even a word.

Firstly, Ebonyi people are not recognised as true Igbo. Theories has it that they belong more to the Tiv people of Benue (just like ndi Nsukka) than to Igbo people. This is most indicated (I think) in the fact that most communities in Ebonyi state speak an indigenous language that is distinct from Igbo (as well as speaking Igbo, but as a secondary language).

Secondly, There is also little historical appreciation of Ebonyi state towns to Igbo culture. We have read of various historical towns like Igboukwu or Nri, or modern towns like Owerri, Independence Layout, commercial towns like Onitsha, Aba, Nnewi, or administrative towns like Umuahia, Awka.

are you aware that a part of ebonyi state were formally in Imo state and the other in the old Enugu state? are you aware that the same area was in abia state before the creation of ebonyi state.

owerri have their dialect, ngwa have their dialect, enugwu have their dialect which even sound similar to abakaliki dialect. even in the very anambra state, various areas differs in the way they pronounce or call certain things....

Ebonyians are not igbos but the issue is that we imposed Igbo on them and they are happy answering that and defending the course even more than others.

An average ebonyi man will defend an Igbo course aggressively even more than we, not minding it was imposition that made them Igbo. I only have issues with their fighting and violent nature.

But on the issue of been Igbo, that I will hold for now.

Igbos are not serious because they don't support Buhari? The way some people reason just they make me wonder. The last time I checked, this is democracy and multiple party system. A people or persons have the right to choose whoever they believe will protect their interest. In the last few years when Igbos were heading sensitive positions in the country, did anyone make all these senseless remarks. Just this past government and now you people won't let someone hear word. If PDP had won this election, would you have come up with this and who told you APC will win the next election?

I keep saying, distribute the prepaid meter to every house in Nigeria and you will see miracle happening in the power sector. The moment prepaid meter get to every home in Nigeria then the electricity distribution and use become real, fair business for both the seller and the user. The more you sell, the more profit you make. The more you pay, the more you can use. Tell me who will not want to make more profit in business?
Aside the fact that those countries have effective power distribution, the citizen don't joke with government agencies over there. In one of the Africa countries(not mentioned above), if you fail to pay your electricity bill after 5days grace on the due date, you are bound to pay 10% charge on the actual bill. And the agency don't have to come to your house to remind you but everyone already know what to do. If you are supposed to pay on 30th but couldn't meet up on that day or before 5th of the following month, when you are ready to pay, you just calculate the 10% , add it to the actual bill and pay.
A Nigerian in such situation will just abandon the thought of paying both the actual bill and the charges.
A lot of Nigerian will borrow credit from mtn,glo, or 9mobile, after using the credit to meet their urgent need, they throw the Sim card inside the nearest gutter and buy another Sim.

even when they give the prepaid meters, the next thing they will do is to increase the tariff so as to cover up.

one thing i respect salvation ministries. one you become a pastor, the church rents a good apartment for you, buy you a lovely car and pay you a very salary that you cant hear this kind of story. RCCG, mhhhmmmmm
