PoliticsRe: Buhari Lists Conditions For Restructuring by toolovely(m): 11:34am On Nov 13, 2018
motunrayo766:
President Muhammadu Buhari has given conditions under which he could consider restructuring.

The president gave the conditions during an interactive session with Nigerians based in France.

Buhari met with them after the Peace Forum attended by over 50 world leaders.

The president said there should be proper definition of what Nigerians want before the government can delve into restructuring.

“There are too many people talking lazily about restructuring in Nigeria. Unfortunately, people are not asking them individually what do they mean by restructuring? What form do they want restructuring to take?” he said.

“Do they want us to have something like the three regions we used to have? And now we have 36 states and the FCT. What form do they want? They are just talking loosely about restructuring.

“Let them define it and then we see how we can peacefully do it in the interest of Nigerians.

“They are just saying they want Nigeria restructured and they don’t have the clue of what the form the restructuring should be. So, anybody who talks to you about restructuring in Nigeria, ask him what he means and the form he wants it to take.”

Restructuring can be seen as the cornerstone of the campaign of Atiku Abubakar, Buhari’s main opponent in the 2019 general election.

the president is the lazy one here. who should be asking them the questions? people are demanding for a restructured country, you as the president should call them and sit down, discuss with them and ask them the kind of restructuring they want. have you call them to ask and they told you they dont know the kind of restructuring they want?. its Just like NLC asking for a minimum wage increase, you sit in your office and say they are lazily asking for pay increase. you call all the parties together and ask them what kind of restructuring are they clamoring for.

Op you said she used the money in settling family issues? Its not like she used it to go shopping for herself or on frivolous things!!

To her, family comes first, probably she didn't want to be selfish and use the money on herself while her family are in pressing need of money!!

If this is your reason for breaking up then you were never in love with that lady!!
i disagree with you. so, if the guy didnt send her the money, how would she have settled the family issues?

a sensible person will invest her money to yield more money for her so that she will have more to spend on her family. so, after settling her family, will the family not have more problems to settle? where will she get the money to settle them? she should have invested the money and have a source of income to take of whatever problems she wants to settle. thats what a wise person should do.

Even though the subsidy claims were inflated. Now, the subsidy claims have tripped and the price of fuel gone higher. That means something bis wrong. So, if things are done properly, you don't need be borrow any money to service the subsidy, rather finding out why the claims were trippled and the price of pms this high. Any body who will want to leverage on this present status is corrupt.

Please, someone should remind this man that he didn't give the position to the people of South East rather to persons from his party. Besides, the appointment of a minister doesn't relate to the entire people rather an individual. That Ngige is the minister of Labour, does that now mean all the people from Anambra State are minister of Labour? Ngige is there because he's a member of APC.

This is the first time we are hearing such a thing in this country. Other presidents have had people in their cabinets from States that they had low votes but they appointed people from those states because its a constitutional requirement that every state should be represented. They are trying to deceive the south west. Dogara is recontesting and has all the advantage if PDP wins majority of seats in the house. Only a nitwit from the south west would believe this watery promise.

The same way PDP promised south west speakership before the 2011 election. We voted massively for Jonathan and he looked away conveniently as Tambuwal emerged speaker after election. Despite cries by Obasanjo and Yoruba PDP leaders, Jonathan did nothing about it.

They also promised to zone the party chairmanship to south west after 2015 general election, on the day of the convention, Wike hijacked the position for Secondus from south south and even insulted the entire Yoruba race as inconsequential on national television. Atiku is playing the same game again, we must not fall for it.
please, you don't because of sentiments and be telling lies. was PDP that denied SW the speakership position or the people from SW that collaborated and gave the positon to tambuwal which PDP and GEJ fought against.
PoliticsBarman Threatens To Drag Ebonyi Council Boss To Court Over N.5m Beer Debt by toolovely(op): 11:39am On Oct 30, 2018
The owner of a beer parlour by name, Francis Ogbonnaya, located at Amasiri in Afikpo Local Government area of Ebonyi state has threatened to sue the council chairman, Hon. Enyim Oko Enyim, to court over alleged debt which runs into half a million Naira for beer purchased on credit.

Efforts to reach the council boss proved abortive as he failed to answer phone calls made to his mobile line. He also didn’t respond to text messages sent to him as at the time of filing this story.

The 56-year old Ogbonnaya, who operates ‘Madison Bar’ in Osisioma road, Ihie Village in Amasiri community, alleged that the debt runs from 2012 when he (Hon. Enyim) was coordinator of Amasiri Development Centre to 2017 when he was elected as the council boss of area.

A petition by Ogbonnaya dated 13th January 2017 which was addressed to the Police Area Command, Afikpo North LGA and made available to Daily Trust, stated that part of the debt were drinks which he (Hon. Enyim) ordered for wedding of his younger brother, Mr. Uga Enyim on 24th November, 2012.

The debt incurred by the council boss on that fateful day for his younger brother was N25,000, our correspondent learnt.

Subsequently, huge chunk of the debts were drinks the council boss supposedly authorized for his friends and supporters during his campaign for the post of council chairman of the area in 2016.

The letter read in part, “Between May 2012 and 2016, Hon. Enyim continued to place order for beers particularly during his campaign in 2016 which is to the tone of N326,000 with cumulative interest of 15.67 percent.

Daily Trust gathered that the debt, which negatively affects the smooth running of Mr. Ogbonnaya’s business, had being reported to the traditional council of the community.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Accepted Defeat In 2015 Due To Imminent Recession — Fashola by toolovely(m): 6:49pm On Oct 26, 2018
Mr Fashola the Minister of Darkness,it seems you've failed to realise that your Buhari is not contesting 2019 election against Jonathan but Atiku.
Quit this blame on Jonathan already and answer this posers?

1. Did Jonathan only got to know about the impeding recession on the day the election result was announced and decided to concede defeat?

2. If he Jonathan was avoiding being at the helm of affairs of the country under recession, don't you think he would've been smarter enough by refusing a second term bid and allow the party field another candidate since he knew his candidacy was generating bad blood in the North?

3. Of Jonathan plunged Nigeria into debt and the total debt of the country under PDP 16years rule was just 6 Trillion, what do we say your Buhari APC led Government has plunged Nigeria into with the total debt of 30 trillion you have incurred in 3 and half years and still wanting to borrow more?

4. Between Jonathan's government and Buhari's government, which did Nigerians witness lay off of workers more?

Lastly, I'm so much disappointed in you and I question what really have upstairs to have been celebrated as the then Governor of Lagos state if you need to be told that Jonathan's budget for works, power and other sectors you mentioned was lower than yours because exchange rate was lower in his time and the economy was better, while your government's mismanagement of the economy sky rocketed exchange rate.

Please feel free to compare the achievements of the Government Atiku served to your Buhari's government because Atiku is the one contesting against him and not Jonathan.

I hope you remember you once said in your bid to ridicule Jonathan that "any serious government will fix power in 6 months"? Is your government automatically not a serious government for failing to fix same power for 3 and a half years?

Maybe as you've suddenly realised that to fix power is not magic like you recently confessed, you'll one day also realise that you and your government have failed Nigerians and it was very foolish of you and an insult to Nigerians to have asked for a second term.

Igbo's are supporting Atiku, a well documented rogue with no history of administrative competence simply because Peter Obi is his running mate and he also promised to hand over to an Igbo man after a single term. Ekweremadu and ohaneze group recently threatened to dump PDP if Atiku refuse to choose an Igbo running mate and nobody called them out for tribalism. If Ekweremadu, Ohaneze and other Igbo group can demand for an Igbo running mate and 2023 Igbo presidency, there is nothing wrong with Fashola advocating for a Yoruba 2023 presidency.

By Yinka Ajayi National Chairman of the United Progressive Party, UPP, Chief Chekwas Okorie, in this interview, outlines why the South-East and South-West should back President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election and speed up power shift to the South among other national issues.

Nigeria is still a work in progress but it’s unfortunate that we are in election mood. While those in government are busy convincing Nigerians that they have done

On President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war Nobody can take that from them because they were able to fight the anti-corruption war headlong.

But for some to call the anti-corruption war of this administration a selective fight is illogical. Because the issue of fraud and corruption does not expire. It’s a matter that lasts over time. And a government that is serious has to start from somewhere. If it’s one sided, who will they arrest, is it other innocent Nigerians or Chekwas Okorie who had never gone near government resources or treasury?

And some particular Nigerians had access to the treasury for 16 good years. If they start from there and another government comes to power, they can continue from there. I always remind those that say anti-corruption war is one-sided of an Igbo proverb that says: A River can only drown somebody whose feet it has seen. If you did not go near the river, how can it drown you? Are they saying if they stole and the other people stole, it should be cancelled? It’s only a corrupt man that will say that. They are not even ashamed that they had 16 years to rule and they messed the whole country up. They laid the foundation for recession.

Before I sound like the ruling party spokesperson, everybody knows that they had a higher source of revenue, by the time this government came, we had less than 7billion dollars in foreign reserve now we are talking about 42 to 46 billion in our foreign reserves.

Despite the situation we have found ourselves, there have been indications of prudence in resource management.

Nobody who will say agriculture has not received the kind of boost we are beginning to experience more certain growth and genuine infrastructural development.

The Buhari’s administration attitude not to cancel contracts approved by the previous government because his government didn’t award them, and encouraging contractors to go back to site is unprecedented.

We are now beginning to look at railway as a source of transportation; Agriculture has a quantum leap in development and is affecting Urban-Rural migration positively.

So things may not be automatic but things are looking up. For us in UPP, we decided not to field a presidential candidate so that we can use this period to consolidate and build a solid structure for 2023.     So for me, the Buhari administration is good to go for second term because there is nothing in PDP that Nigerians are missing that will make me want them to come back. I can live with another four years of Buhari but may not be able to endure another eight years of PDP.

The reason is the person running under PDP moral baggage is known, his pasts are known and we know what they did with the opportunity they had when they were in power for 16 years. So a Leopard does not change its spots. The saying that the devil you know is better than the angels you don’t know is true.

In a situation where there are two devils, you can choose the better devil. To Nigerians that are ethnic minded, they are faced with two Fulani, the APC Fulani and the PDP Fulani. It is left for you to choose your own Fulani.

For me, Buhari has an uncompleted job and the way he is going is a path of progress.

It is for Nigerians to decide what they want but I personally will prefer another four years of Buhari before power shift to the South-West or South-East, than another eight years of another Fulani with the same spot and if you add it to the previous nightmare of the PDP it will be too much for Nigerians to bear.

PoliticsRe: Why Living Faith Church Hates Buhari by toolovely(m): 9:37am On Oct 16, 2018
arewaproudly:
On August 2011, the Government of GEJ gave a comprehensive concession to Living Faith Church AKA Winners chapel to pack 4 private jets belonging to the church free of charge in any of the airports in the country. An import waiver was also issued by the former government to Living Faith Church. This guaranteed that the ministry paid next to nothing on whatever they import into the country.

This concession was revoked by the FG on Feb. 2016 and import waiver canceled. The church unable to meet up with the huge charges being accumulated on packing fees for 4 private jets, sold off two of the jets by July 2016.

We may now understand why Bishop David Oyedepo never sees anything good in this present government just because this government insisted on things being done properly.

For me, why should multi-billion naira mega cooperate churches be given concessions and import waivers when small legitimate business are made to pay through their nose whenever they import? In the same way, why should companies like Dangote, Bua group, Milan ground, Golden Penny enjoy concessions and import waivers when these companies make billions in profit after tax?

I always have the opinion that 90% of the accidental billionaires we have in this country are living on government concessions and waivers. Take that away from them and they will be like every one of us.

Concession and waiver agreements were abused by the former government as was revealed by 2016 Senate Ad hoc committee on import duty waivers which revealed that the FG from lost between 2011 to 2015 N447.42bn through fraudulent concessions and waivers. Consequently to this report, the present government canceled all forms of import waivers in 2016 and some organizations made to pay the FG what they owe the government.

We may now understand how Nigeria’s custom was able to remit N1trn in 2017. All these policies and checkings created enemies for BUHARI’s government. People who have been ripping off the country for years being asked to pay the right fees for their imports, automatically made them enemies of Buhari and his government.

Truly, this government is fighting for the masses and that’s why we have less and less accidental billionaires under this government. The free monies have dried up.
this write up is total rubbish to curry sentiments from like minds.

Oyedepo has never supported Buhari for one day. in 2014, he told all who care to listen to vote against Buhari. i'm sure form your understanding, buhari was the president in 2014.
