most Nigerians who are abroad are left to be there because they are contributing to the economy of their domiciled country
How am i supposed to believe that Nigerians abroad contribute to their host nation, but illegals in Nigeria won't contribute to Nigeria.
In a country like ours where we have not been able to feed our own people or create jobs for them. Accepting illegal migration is simply brewing time bomb of the future.
This is exactly the same reason given in every nation. The racist of any nation would always say, their is not enough for us, why allow immigrants, legal or illegal. This reason is used in America, France, Britain, Germany etc. If Europe and America can allow (black people who are so culturally different to them) to remain in their country,
why can't Nigeria accept its poorer neighbours? By all means deport the criminal elements, but for those who want to make Nigeria their home, for God sake allow them.

My question was "Were you invited to Australia because they head hunted you in Nigeria?"
You probably went to Australia as a student, and then regularized your stay, give these people a chance and they will be legal one day. As long as they do honest jobs, leave them alone.

dblock:
what treaty, every country should have a crackdown on illegal immigrants. No country should allow illegal immigrants
Mmm How did you get to Australia? Were you invited to Australia because they head hunted you in Nigeria?
Am sure it was for your expertise. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Intolerance reeks from your post. The administrator reserves the right to remove inflammable post. I also had my post removed, at first i was angry then i thought maybe i allowed ethnic
sentiments to cloud my judgment. Maybe this site's sponsor will not allow that kind of Gay bashing you so want to embark on. It may be alright to hate gays in Nigeria, but internationally you can't do that. Should Nairaland decide to allow anything goes scenario trust me, we won't have a forum tomorrow, it will have to go underground. There are sites where black people are ridiculed and abused, thank God those sites remain underground not mainstream. Through my travels i have learnt not to be judgmental. Where i draw the line is if they molest a child, what goes on between two consenting adults is non of my business.

If you live in Nigeria without social security what do you expect your wife to do. Haba!. If it's some "careless change" it wouldn't bother me. If however we are both leaving in a country with social security benefits, then it would bother me.
Last thing i would want is her building a 3 bedroom house in her village with my money.

The US is the most armed nation on earth, hence it prevents others from arming themselves (to preserve the status quo).

I don't really have to talk about this anymore. It's clear that I'm right given the attention that Soccer gets here in America.
But you are not talking to Americans, you are talking to Nigerians in Diaspora. American football might be popular in the USA but it is not popular around the world. Don't you get it?

Beckham cannot turn MLS around because Americans simply don't like soccer. Its a full 45 minute of play game with no commercials. Unlike NFL where there are interruptions for commercials. Corporate America will not buy ad spots. NFL games last for over 3hours even though each quarter is for 15 mins, commercials will stretch it to about 45minutes. NFL is purely for entertainment like Wrestling.

Is this a thread for 15yr old girls. Give me a break, who gives a damn about the looks of the president if he can turn around our ailing economy. When does looks equal intelligence to govern? Obasanjo is the ugleist president Nigeria has had since independence. Why not beg Denzel Washington to rule Nigeria, so our female folks can enjoy his beauty, also
he should bring his wife "Beyonce" to keep the men folk happy too. A meaningful question would have been their ability to govern. Anyway am leaving the 15yr olds here to continue the debate of who is the prettiest boy in the playground.

Who ever thought of of this topic? In a Nigerian forum you think you really can convince us that American style rugby is better than soccer. If you live in America chances are you will love American football. What's next is, other Nigerians living in Australia will now say Australian rules football is the best thing since slice bread. Many others in Ireland will now say Gaelic football is better than soccer. Call it American, Australia or Gaelic football, they are all different variations of Rugby. There's only one football, the one played with your feet.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran by Tornadoz(m): 6:12am On Feb 28, 2007
I could not have put it more bluntly. Kudos to you Afam. The issue here is, it is wrong for some countries to own them and at the same time prevent others from doing so. If nuclear weapons are so bad let the west destroy their stockpile,
then they would be taken seriously. Its an open secret America wants Israel to remain the main power player in the middle east. How come America is showing so much enthusiasm on Iran but failed to do same to N Korea. The NPT is useless if any nation can opt out.

Thanks everyone for your great comments. Am from Ubiaja in Edo state for those asking where am from. My nieces and nephews have to travel to the nearest town just to get on the net. This is really not about how much i will make on the business. This is more a charitable venture so to speak. Thanks every one for your input. Soon every naija village will have an internet cafe. DO ONE THING THIS YEAR, GET YOUR PEOPLE ON THE NET. The next generation of your kinsmen will forever thank you for bringing the world to the village.

@KayB I will be in touch with you soon, i've got your email addy.

Europe was once lawless, we have to create the Nigeria that our grand children will be happy in. Nigeria might have lawlessness, but an African is always an African, no matter how many years you have spent in Europe, you still face discrimination.
TravelRe: No Nigerians Welcome In Tanzania by Tornadoz(m): 5:57am On Feb 26, 2007
But we should not forget, that its our fellow country men that has brought this humiliation upon us. When Nigerians start's to do business the proper way, this problem will cease to exist, until then we can't really do much, apart from us making our govt take the image of Nigeria seriously.
Shame.
