dear kopites,

been a while, dont blame me, it has been difficult adapting in a new country. and then recession happened. i hardly followed the soccer season this yr. soccer is not so popular in this country, so coverage is poor. but next season i'll get more channels to help me watch more games.

meanwhile, something good happened this year. the good news is . . . . . . . .

our God is a consuming fire. the reason why u are posting this rubbish, u know why? JESUS. b/c of him, people can misbehave and God will delay his immediate punishment for them. in the old testament, our God visits the sins of the fathers unto the children to the 3rd and 4th generation.

now b4 u say that is unjust, history, as it were, shows that sin is usually familial. sinful people begat sinful children. it still happens anyway. that's why God insists we train our children the right way.

but today, b/c of christ, things have changed. forgiveness has magnified, judgement delayed, opportunities for repentance have multiplied, hence u can come here and berate God and feel good with yourself. I trust that one day u'll change and be ashamed of ur past.

even people who say there is no God somehow shout Oh My God when things go awry grin

Politics › Re: House Of Reps: 20 Million Niger Delta Citizens Should Be Allowed To Die by toshmann(m): 4:10am On May 23, 2009
u guys can go on raging and ranting. those guys have been a menace to the peace of the area. they kidnapped white people, and white people ran away, they kidnapped rich nigerians, the rich became scared, now who's next? a predator will always be a predator. unfortunately, innocent people will die in the process.

this is not about the aboki statement. the fact is, if the niger-deltans can hold their leaders to account, then they will have better representation at the center, and wont have the need for all this militant groups. i dont blame the fed govt in this issue. it is long overdue. if those miscreants are not contained today, it wont be easy to contain them in 5 yrs time.

we nigerians like to hide the truth and believe what we want to beleive.

truth hurts. but denial doesnt change the facts. the violence wont end without a fight. we cant have a part of the country where our govt have no control over. we cant have 2 parralel countries. something had to happen. and this is it. let the struggle for niger-delta rights shift from the violent jungle to the dialogue table. make use of every peaceful means, at least this is not abacha. it is better that violence and it will be better to start by holding ur own leaders like ibori and alamiesigha and odili. etc. they can start with what they have. those states recieve more money than cross-river state, yet the cross-river governor was able to make some visible changes in his state.

truth hurts

Politics › Re: House Of Reps: 20 Million Niger Delta Citizens Should Be Allowed To Die by toshmann(m): 8:32pm On May 22, 2009
people make una cool down abeg. we have fought one civil war and we dont want another. the aboki honorable has asked for forgiveness and i think he should be forgiven.

this issue is not about the aboki. it is not about niger-delta, igbos or ijaws. it is about nigeria. all of us. home and abroad.

forget the aboki honorable, the issue is niger-delta development. to the best of my knowledge, and i'll humbly accept correction if i'm wrong,
a)the niger-delta states recieve huge money from the fed govt compared to other states
b) the NDDC, and now dept of Niger-delta (a cabinet level office) was also established to help them out.

now, how accountable have the niger-delta politicians been to their people? gov ibori was arrested and fought by EFCC and ''his people'' supported him. he looted, and stole, and ravaged ,(get me a new word) delta funds. gov alami was arrested in london, he escaped, went home and had a hero's welcome . . . . hero's welcome. the people of ND should also accept the blame, as the rest of us nigerians for helping establish a society where corruption thrives and people like ribadu are fugitives. . . . the nation is sick. and it stinks. but war is not the answer.

nigeria is the problem. the aboki honorable is a product of the system.

Truequest:
I have read this discussion from the first post to the last with these observations.
Tayo-D I have to congratulate you for your dogged stand even as a lone voice.
Conscience is an open wound and only the truth can heal it. I'm not supprised
by the oppositions you have here. As I have grown to learn that there are words
people would want wipped out of dictionary, as long as it hurts their conscience,
they will argue and fight. RESPONSIBILITY is the key word, let's take responsibility
for our action. Just immagine for a moment if Obama's mother had aborted him for
lack of money. Poverty is never an excuse but convinience, social status and such like.
wel, tayo D may be the lone voice here, but he is not alone. I started the thread, i admire the president and his ''packaging ability'' but i strongly disagree with his stand on the issue of abortion. this has been my stand against the democratic party. this is a great SIN against helpless babies. is it b/c they cant complain? they cant protest, they cant fight. this is EVIL. and it must be discouraged completely. we must work to reduce teenage pregnancy, but when it occurs, we must work to ensure safe delivery and upbringing. there is no excuse for this murder . . . . yes . . . that's what it is. . . MURDER . . . .cold blooded MURDER

@Pres-elect (aka Darfur)

dont bring God into this defence of abortion. where did God encourage the killing of unborn children? call a spade a spade. pro-choice is another way to say a woman is allowed to go and kill an unborn baby. termination of pregnancy is another way of saying murder unborn children.

what do u say about stem cell research? that issue will soon explode. give it ten yrs, you wont recognise what ''experts'' and legal gurus can come up with, using that executive order.
