Doctors would not say a patient is "beyond treatment" but doctors can tell a patient that there is no likelihood that any known medical intervention at this time would be beneficial, in other words, the condition is terminal, in other words, we do not expect a recovery, in other words, patients in such conditions are expected to live another 6 months ( or whatever tomeline), in other words. . . . you gonna die!!!!!(but they we wont put it this way though )

But if the patient insists on continuation of therapy then treatmen continues. But it is always advisable at this point to commence end of life care.
